3.2Pours Amber with a thin white head. Not a lot in the way of aroma. Mild flavor, malt with no hoppiness
3.0Bottle. Aroma is malty. Taste is malt. Earthy, metallic and a bit of hops at the end. Easy smooth drinking beer. Not much going on. OK beer.
3.1Amber bronze copper appearance. No nose. Taste is like an earth covered penny. Mild bitterness a touch of salami peppery spice. Finish is smooth.
2.8Bottle - A brown amber color to it, almost no head. Dryness to it, no sweetness or hop flavor. Middle of the road and nothing special with this one.
3.0DATE REVIEWED: May 24, 2014... GLASSWARE: Howard’s Pub pint... OCCASION: a holdover from the last poker night... APPEARANCE: dark amber body that is lively and slightly opaque; off-white head is mostly creamy with a bit of rocky space; good open lacing... AROMA: sharp caramel malts with enough metallic clank to disturb the doughy biscuit that settles... PALATE: smooth yet slightly warm; mellow, swift and too light to hold attention... TASTE: nutty and caramel with the sweetness near to lip-smacking; hops are in check and not distinguishable... OVERALLL: serviceable and sessionable, but not a six-pack I’d seek to revisit; rather straightforward and predictable, with only the comfort factor working in its favor....
3.3Transfer From BA -
Poured from a bottle into pint glass
Appearance - pours a nice copper color (as the name implies). Very little head on this with little or no lacing though.
Smell - Smells of sweetness of caramel and toffee first meet the nose. Then a bit of toasted malt.
Taste - Mainly a sweetness of caramel. Picking up a little bit of hop ( a small amount;hard to pin down exactly) flavor latter in the tasting experience mixed with some maltiness as well.
Mouthfeel - A good level of carbonation and a decent body.
Overall - A good beer. Nothing exceptional, but good for the everyday brew.
3.2Smells of metallic (copper?) notes with a hint of malt. Great tan/brown, rich color. Taste is very balanced, with a touch of sweetness. Palate is bold, crisp and smooth. Makes for a good session.
3.3bottle. Copper amber in color, as one would expect, filtered with an eggshell colored head. Plenty of carbonation. Aroma is bready with sweet caramel, a touch of sweet citrus. Taste is bready and sweet with a faint hop profile, caramel and maybe some pineapple in the malt. Tasty and sessionable.
3.5Reviewed from notes. I’ve had this beer more than enough times in my life when I used to live in the New England area and almost always prefer this on tap and with food.
The appearance has a clear red/amber slightly copper colored body with a fingers worth of foamy white head. There was some light speckled yet spotty lacing that trickled down the sides of the glass. There is not any surfacing carbonation.
The smell is slightly malty, but mainly roasty nuttiness. Some breadiness comes out in the smell.
The taste is mainly the roasted nuttiness. Some caramel comes out in the taste.
The palate sits about a medium with a light carbonation profile. It leaves a slightly dry feel to my mouth.
Overall, this is not a bad beer, very similar to an American Brown, so I should really like it.
2.912 ounce bottle. Pours a clear golden brown with a small off-white head. Aroma of malt and caramel. Taste is malt, caramel, and a bit of floral. Easy to drink and easy to forget.
2.4Bottle. Pours burgundy with thin white head that dissipates. Medium carbonation over malt aroma. So so copper beer.
2.6The other bottled option at the Willoughvale Inn. Pours a nice copper (good for them!) with a thin white head that leaves light lacing. Nose is composed almost solely of caramel, pretty simple. Taste is also of caramel, not too sweet but not too complex either. Body is medium, carbonation high. Maybe this suffered in comparison with the Long Trail Ale I had just before that one, but I can pretty confidently say that this one (and the other one) is not for me.
0.5Not bad always liked this nice color and hop flavor
And not backtaste one of my favorite s
2.912oz bottle poured into a tumbler glass.
Slightly hazy light copper color with a small off white head.
Somewhat nutty and light caramel aroma, with biscuity malt and faint floral hops.
Sweetish malt, some caramel, light honey and nuts notes, lo-med bitterness, faint fruitiness.
Medium body, a bit stale, soft carbonation, OK for style.
3.3Tap at World of Beer Baltimore. Pours clear amber with a medium, creamy off-white head, medium retention with excellent lacing. Aroma is toast and nutty, earthy and spicy hops. Flavor is malt dominant with light hops and bitterness and a dry finish. Medium body and carbonation.
2.8Bottle. Unclear amber with a small to medium off-white head. Aroma of malt and caramel, a bit stale, with some nuttiness and some fruity notes. Sweetish malt flavor, a bit stale, with caramel, a bit of toastiness, nutty hints, light fruitiness and a mildly bitter finish with light hoppiness. Medium-bodied. So-so.
3.0Color cobrizo de ahi el nombre. No mucha espuma ni huella. Cuerpo ligero, gran carbonación. Aroma leve a hierbas y heno. No dura. Buen sabor, con notas a lupulos y maltas con un lligero acento astringente. El paladar es bueno en los primeros tragos, con citricos y amargor balanceado, pero a medida que se oxigena la cerveza, pierde su fuerza.
2.7Pours deep golden with a thin, white head and plenty of bubbles. Nose is bread-like with grassy notes and a hint of caramel. Flavor is faint bitterness of grassy hops and malty sweetness. Medium body, lively carbonation. A touch above lawnmower beer.
3.1On tap @ Dolce (Basking Ridge NJ). Pours a clear golden amber color with a finger of foamy off white head. Aroma of sweet malts, some caramel, and citrus hops. Taste of mostly sweet caramel malt, some citrus, maybe a hint of floral hops, and mild bitterness.
3.0Light amber color. More light-bodied than I expected from the description. Malts are on the sweet side, with notes of caramel, toffee and cinnamon. Nice hop bitterness for balance, but the flavor still fades pretty quickly.
2.9Great beer. Tastes better cold. The flavors really come out when it is colder. The taste flattens as it warms up.
3.012 Fl. Oz. Bottle. Pours dark amber, clear, with a very generous white head, and lots of lacing. On the nose, caramel malts are predominant. Taste is quite sweet and malty, some fruit in there too balanced with a nice bitter finish. Good beer, not spectacular but good.
2.2Otter Copper pours slightly hazey, -but beautiful- golden-amber. The head is ample and fluffy. Lacing is good. This beer is great to look at.
The nose is caramel and malts.
A little caramel and malts is outshined by the metallic taste.
Low carbonation and light tongue weight pretty much sum up this beer.
Overall, this brew takes great pictures. It’s great to look at, but, less rewarding to drink. It IS a good beer- I just don’t love it. I’d drink it again- there just isn’t anything distinguished or noteable about it.
2.8Pleasing Amber color. Not much on the nose. Flavor is malty and non-nondescript. Body is thin.
2.9Location/Date:Draft at Ping Pong Dim Sum Dupont, 5/7/2013.
Appearance: Pours a copper color.
Aroma: Aroma of light caramel.
Taste: Light bitterness, light caramel, faint bready notes.
Palate:Light body.
Summary: Was what I expected the beer to be, not bad but not great.
3.0Bottle. Pours a bronze , dark copper color. Taste is sweet and Carmel sugary with a hint of cinnamon. Pretty well balanced but kind of boring/forgettable
2.7Bottle. Pours mostly clear amber with thin, fizzy white head; short retention and some lacing. Aroma is toasted and caramel malts, figs, some funk, grassy and floral hops, and light biscuit. Flavor is balanced sweet malts and grassy hops with some supporting dark fruit esters, light leather, and maple syrup; dry, lightly sweet finish. Light/medium body and medium carbonation.
2.6(From Notes) Pours a medium amber color. Good head, minor lacing. Very hoppy aroma. Taste is strong almost overwhelming. Heavy hops bitterness. Not my cup of tea. had a hard time finishing the one I poured. Maybe personal taste, unfortunately Ive had better from Otter Creek.
2.8Smell of skunky malt, water, corn. Pours a nice amber color, lace is okay. Taste is thin and watery, not much to grab your attention. Faint hint of sweetness. Not bad but forgettable.
2.8Bottle. Pours a clear amber color with a small white head. Nose is quite malty with a bit of toasting and caramel. Taste is very light - almost nothing to it.
