Hopheads rejoice! It’s a big Imperial IPA packed with Columbus and Simcoe. ABV has fluctuated over the years.

3.0Tan golden light off white foam. Resinous surface. Dissipating head. Very rich malt flavors sweetness light caramel light cocoa. Substantial bitterness. Thin feel. Reminiscent of aged bigfoot. Will try again.
3.722 oz bottle. Pours orange with a short lived white head. Aroma is of citrusy hops, orange marmalade, pale malt and ripe fruit. Body is full and tangy. Citrusy, herbal hops, caramel malt, and ripe fruit fill the mouth. Finish is long and very hoppy. Very nice DIPA.
4.3Deep amber pour. Very clear with a small tan head. Aroma of citrus and pine. Super smooth, dry, bitter, Very west coast. Excellent brew. Got a bottle from the wholesale rep at PAFlavorfest in Harrisburg.
4.1On tap at Otto's.
Deep copper pour with a fine light tan head. Good lacing.
Nose is resin, pine, caramel.
Lots of toffee malt balanced by a nice, biting hop undercurrent. Citrusy and fresh.
Medium full mouthfeel. Very satisfying. A nice level of carbonation to knock down the alcohol and malt sweetness.
Very enjoyable. Nicely balanced for a DIPA. It doesn't have that tooth enamel dissolving character that so many of them do.

4.1Pours a beautiful golden orange color. Nose is full of peaches and citrus and quite pleasant. Taste is all citrus with tropical fruits and peaches. Finish is sweet with a mouthful of citrus. Great DIPA . Quaff Score 8 / 10
3.6Draft. Amber pour with little head. Not much aroma. Taste is pine with some nice malt character. Maybe a little citrus coming through. Finishes pretty clean. Not bad.
3.5Had on draft @ Otto’s brewpub, in the NeW location, in State College,PA .. . pours a very deep amber .. great lacing .. sap and crushed pine, bark .. . a touch alcoholic, long bitter finish .. . a dangerous beer .. . . i call this beer Devon.
3.92012-08-17. Crisp dark orange, modest beige head. 3+ Lovely hop aroma, nice citrus character with leafy green notes. 7+ Nice hoppy flavour, citrus melange, tangerines, good amount of bitterness throughout, modest leafy green hop accents. 7+ Smooth average bodied palate, starting to lose some carbonation in the growler but not significantly so. Very good! Growler, Campground Brewdown 2012
3.8Draft. Pours copper orange with a frothy off-white head. Aroma of citrus & piney hops, caramel and some light fruit. Flavor was sweet malts, pine, citrus, caramel and some grapefruit with a dry and bitter finish.
3.7Subtle aroma for a big IPA. Some floral notes. Copper color with white head. Nice big hoppy wallop with bitterness on the palate. Decent IPA
3.0Draft. Pours clear amber with thin, creamy off-white head; decent retention and some lacing. Aroma is floral and citrus hops, light fruit, and sweet malt. Flavor is light caramel malt, heavy floral and earthy hops, and light fruit esters; dry, bitter finish. Medium body, carbonation, and warmth.
3.5Tap. Pours clear amber with a medium, fizzy white head, medium retention with good lacing. Aroma is fruity and floral hops, pine notes, cookie and biscuit malt with fruity esters. Flavor is moderate hops and bitterness, supporting malt, fruity esters and a dry finish. Medium body, warmth and carbonation.
3.3What appears to be a super fresh bottle directly from the brewery courtesy of my boy C.D. Aroma is an earthy floral hop that goes from alcoholic flower petals to damp morning dew on the earth. Really great smallish carbonation lifts away an astringent bitterness that would otherwise be overwhelming. There is a fruitiness here that is reminiscent of unripened mango in the middle and finishes with a lemon/lime twist of acidic bitterness. Would be great with just a touch of sweetness somewhere. A nice beer, glad I got to try it. Thanks Otto’s. 2011 22oz.
3.512oz bottle, pours amber small head, little lacing throughout the drink. Strong hoppy flavor, the imperial taste does sneak in there. Well-balanced, complexity of hops and malts. Hoppy start, medium to full bodied, sweet hoppy impy finish. Good brew.
3.9(bottle - 22 oz) Slightly hazy gold pour with a thin layer of white foam. Big hoppy and floral aroma. Lots of caramel notes as well. Flavor starts off with a big and bitter hop bite. Very dry and cloying near the middle but it actually balances out well with the heavy and peppery hops. Nice and dry through the middle and into the finish. Really nicely balanced.
4.1Serving: 12 oz. bottle from Gabe. Cheers Gabe! It pours a nice amber color with a medium, frothy off white head. The nose is a mix of pineapple and tropical fruit. All hops, all the time. The flavor is a combination of those tropical fruit notes from the hops and a nice sweetness from the malt side. It leans towards the bitter side, as it should. It reminds me of a strong Two Hearted with a little more pine and lingering bitterness. Good brew for sure.
4.012 oz, bottle from Wegman’s Williamsport, thanks MisterP. This pours clear amber with a white head. The aroma is light and sweet. It tastes light and smooth with not much bitterness but more sweetness from hops.
3.8A - Pours a hazy copper-orange color with a finger of frothy off-white head atop. The head fades slowly down and leaves behind some nice lacing in the process.
S - Strongest aroma is from the citrus hops. There are also some piney hops and some sweet malt in the background. Overall, not that aromatic.
T - Starts off with some strong citrus flavors with a mix of grapefruit and pineapple flavor. Through the middle, some sweet malts and pine hops and bitterness come through. The finish is a mix of piney hop bitterness and just a bit of sweet malt that lingers.
M - Medium-full bodied with moderate carbonation. Feels smooth and lively. The pine hops leave a bit of a resiny feeling behind.
D - Very drinkable. The alcohol is well hidden for a fairly strong 9.6% abv. The nose is a bit weak but the flavors do not disappoint.
3.8Draft @ the brewpub. Pours an amber color with a small off-white head. Has a fruity hoppy piney grapefruit aroma. Sweetish malty hoppy bitter piney flavor. Has a sweetish malty hoppy bitter piney finish.
3.622 oz bottle poured into a Russian River tulip.
AROMA: Bready malt, faint hops and alcohol.
APPEARANCE: Hazy copper color with some off white head the dissipates into a ring round the glass and bit of skim.
TASTE: Sweet malty taste at first, then hop bitterness, finishes with malt and hop balance. This is really balanced!
PALATE: Medium bodied with creamy texture. Average carbonation.
OVERALL: I acquired this as an extra in a trade. Quite a treat! If you like balanced double IPAs, this would be a good one to try.
3.5Reviewed from notes.
Pours a moderate amber color with an off white head. The nose brings a good dose of grapefruit and citrus hops. Maybe a hint of pine. The taste isn’t quite as hop forward and shows a bit of malt. A touch of alcohol as well. The feel is really nice and bitter with a really good finish. Drinks well and is a nice DIPA all around.

3.7This, not meaning to be redundant, is a big frigging beer. Floral notes on the nose. Pours a dark amber color with a thin white head. Lots of different hop sensations on the tongue. Doesn’t easily wash away with water. Nice!
4.222 oz. bottle, sent from Glouglouburp (thanks Dany), pours golden orange with a white head. Aroma of tropical fruits (peach, mango, orange), caramel, and citrus. Flavour of spicy hops, tropical fruits (as above), caramel and citrus. Most excellent.
3.5Bottle thanks to Brian. Poured a clear orangish amber with a near white head that lasted throughout the beer. Aroma was pine with a hint of citrus and a sweet grain backbone. Flavor had a strong pine note that was slightly dank with an earthy grain and bread backing.
3.7Bottle, vferg brought to PPSG’10. White head, on an orange pour. Pine and slight citrusy hop aroma. A little warming, some grapefruit and pine as well on the flavor.
3.7On tap at brewpub. Amber with minimal head. Citrus and piney aroma. Flavor: pine dominates the citrus, but both are noticeable. Quite bitter. Mouthfeel is a little syrupy, which is the only thing keeping this from being a great DIPA.
3.5Tried to get this on tap at the brewery, no luck, had to get it by bottle. Orange/amber color, very clear. Thin fast fading head. Nose is grapefruit plus toffee, interesting. Palate is chewy, a tad bitter, some caramel, and ends very dry. No alcohol presence detected. Hops blast it I guess. They come on really strong at the end.
2.7Bottle. Caramelly aroma, hint of pine. Clear amber colour. Small tan head. The flavour is alcoholic and quite bitter. Rough alcohol and bitterness. OK sweetness, but not enough to balance. Rough, unbalanced and unpolished.
3.7Bottle shared at Sourfest 2010. I love this party because people bring beers like this and just pass ’em around. Orange amber with a strong head. Nose is very strong. Spicy hoppy and alcohol on all fronts. Peppery. Nice brew.
