Oud Beersel Oude Lambik

Oud Beersel Oude Lambik

Please note the age of the sample you are reviewing when entering your rating. While many factors determine whether you have had "Jonge" or "Oude" Lambik, a general rule of thumb is to enter 1 year-old or older lambik under "Oud Beersel Oude Lambik" and anything less than 6 months-old under "Oud Beersel Jonge Lambik".

For those between 6 and 12 months of age, you should take in to consideration the character of the lambik. Samples presenting themselves as hazy/cloudy, with some head-formation and residual sugar should be entered as "Jonge Lambik", while those that are drier, higher in clarity and with little/no head formation should be entered as "Oude Lambik".

3.7 Restrained tart aroma in a hazy golden pour. Similarly laid back funky tart taste combines a light fruity body with a hint of wood in the finish. No wonder their Gueuze is so good.
3.2 On tap at 100piv. Pours bit hazy golden color, white small head. Aroma is sour, acidic. Tatse is sour, tart, acidic, bit watery, not bad, not great
4.0 Ochutnano v pražském pivním baru gulden draak. Výtečné pivo, tak akorát vyzrálé kyselé yvazene. Úžasná záležitost.
4.3 #872 (1 year old), # 934 (as Oude Vieux Lambiek); #1094 (CASK) et #1500 (3 years old). Vynikající svěží kyseláč; hodně dřevitý, výrazný lambik; v jeho chuti převažujou kyselý citrusy doplněné krátkou hořkostí citronové kůry, zemitá. 9/2017, 1/2018, 6/2018, 7/2019; 0,2 l, draft, bar, Prague.
4.1 Poured into a tumbler from a bag in a box. Aroma has a moderate, herbal, earthy funk note with some light mustiness. Light lemon and oak notes. Pours a hazy, brownish orange with a small, thin, forced white head that recedes quickly and disappears. No lacing or legs. Flavor has a moderate acidity with light oak notes. Moderate earthy, herbal, musty funk with light lemon rind and hints of stone fruit tannins. Mouthfeel is medium bodied with only a faint hint of carbonation. Low astringency and low alcohol warmth. Overall, a really nice, simple, young lambic. Good funk and soft acidity with balanced, light oak notes.
3.5 Uzupełnienie ocen piwnych bez opisu z uwagi na przeniesienie z papierowych zapisków.
3.7 Tap. Sour yeasty aroma and taste of some berry fruit, light vinegar notes, vine note, medium sour. Medium body, sour vineous finish. Good.
3.6 Heheh. Bag-in-box sample (Oud Beersel Oude/Vieux Lambiek) at Pivoteka Žižkoff. Hazy amber-orange body with a tiny, thin but lasting bubbly white head. Interesting aroma... orange, hay, funk, woody touches, sweetish. Balanced and drinkable taste, glue, hay, salty touches, orange? and better than the sum of its parts. Sweetish and tart, more so than many other old lambics. Elegant stuff!
3.4 On tap at Weekend der Spontane Gisting, Opstal, Belgium. Shared with lovely Anja. Murky dirty golden, minimal head. Aroma is yeasty, funky, fruity, apricot, ripe apple. Yeasty, metallic, soft grainy, light acidity in flavour. Light to a medium body, soft to a moderate carbonation. Slightly sour finish. Nice, although lacks complexity.
3.5 Draught, 2 years old. Pours hazy dark gold with light translucent bubbles. Tart, medium acidity, light grainy malt, lemon zest notes, funky and earthy, and a dry finish. Light body and faint carbonation.
3.7 Czuć, że to nie jest kupażowany lambik. Dzikość mocno w stronę derki, mało owocowo, dodatkowo sporo ciała i pełni ale to domena wieku. Smaczna rzecz.
4.0 Corpo leggero, parecchia schiuma per un lambic, molto equilibrato

4.2 [Draught at Bar Hop BrewCo] Pours a deep golden-orange with an average size diminishing frothy white head. Nice aroma of cheese, horse blanket, yeast, sour fruit and more...not sure how to describe it but it's great. Tart, sour flavour follows. Medium bodied. Awesome.
4.2 Wersja 2015 Barwa ciemno slomkowa.
3.5 2015 / Arcykonsekwentny lambik o suchym smaku. Początkowa piana po odpowiednim odczekaniu ustępuje. Jabłkowy, szampanowy posmak. Polecam w swojej kategorii.
3.6 2017 version on tap at Mikkeller Warsaw. Hazy golden/orange pour with a medium frothy foam. Nose: leather, citrus highlights, rustic with a feel of hay. Mouth: clean start, tartness is mild, fruitiness you can feel it far away, lemony tart finish.
4.1 Fairly cloudy. Brass colour. Thin head. Aroma is some wine vinegar and funk. Taste is white wine, mostly. Pretty tart.
3.9 Bottle. Tarty, brett, wild aroma. Hazy golden to yellow color with small sized white head. Sour, tarty fruity taste. Thin to medium body, lively carbonation.
4.1 Servida en porrón en Morgano, Boadilla del Monte, exhibe todo su carácter. Ligeramente acética en nariz, los cueros y la puel de cítrico dominan en boca, para dar paso al pomelo y una madera que no agrede en el final. ¡Gracias, Alberto!
3.7 Shared by vinivini from a sample at Eric the Red in Moscow (thanks, this isn’t something I’d usually go for). Pours hazy ochre with a good white head. Aroma is funk, lemons, barnyard. Taste is sour and dry. Interesting and pleasant.
4.0 Draught. Nice cloudy orange colour with a dense and lasting white head. Aroma: barnyard, horse blanket, unripe apples, fruity accidity. Light body. Taste: heavy sour still drinkable. Fruity, tart, nice
4.0 Draught at "Il Giro del Mondo in 40 Spine" Dec.2018- Xander Beer, Brescia. Pale limpid and clear orange color, no head and very poor bubbly presence. Fruit and sweet/acidulous aroma, notes of butter, sour, aged mold grapes. Watery body with predominant aged fruity and acidulous grapes palate, sweet and equilibrate sour final.
4.0 On tap en Be Hoppy. Un birrote del copón, menos acida que sus hermanas, escasa carbonatación, para repetir sin duda alguna.
3.8 On tap at Koelschip. 2015 vintage. Clear-to-hazy gold. Cow dung ,earth and acidity in the nose, sour, rather mild, acidic in the mouth and dry. Medium body, long and acidic finish.
3.7 Beer box (!) Jolly Judge. Hazy amber, no head. Herbal aroma, lemony, honey. Taste initially tart, then smoothes out, lots of herbal elements, a little yeast and some citrus. Very nice.
3.7 Sample on tap at Trail's End. Pours a clear, orange color, with a small, off-white head. The aroma is lemon peel, cardamom, sawdust, white sugar, grass clippings, and leather. Pretty dry and quite funky. Light body, with a crisp, puckering, acidic, and grainy palate. Pretty assertive, and not very sour, just dry and funky. Nice.
