Ožujsko Pivo

Ožujsko Pivo

Ozujsko Pivo, a blond beer, is Croatia’s leading brand, dating from 1893. The selection of hops and barley gives Ozujsko (5.2% ABV) a refreshing taste and fine bitter aroma. It should be served at 3°C with compact foam.

Note: Dropped from 11.5° and 5.2% to 11° and 5.0% in late 2009/early 2010.

2.8 Ordinær kroatisk teresse øl. Frisk når den er kold. Bør kun købes i små dåser eller på flaske
1.7 0.5 can from random store in Sarajevo Pours clear golden color with thick head. Sweet, industrial, smelly aroma. Taste grainy, dry, lightly sweet, slightly sour. Cooked vegetables with a dirt, grass and smoke feeling. Uncomfortable palate, cooked dish feeling.

3.0 Can courtesy of Kostas, cheers Kostas! Had this Thursday 11th November 2021 listening to Steve Lamaqs Evening Session on 6 Music cooking Chill con Carne. Pours gold, another beer with excellent clarity, mid sized frothy white head. A bit in the sweet side, cereal noted, it's ok.
2.1 Aromat: słodowy, w miarę czysty, ale skręcający pod koniec w stronę miodu/kwiatów Wygląd: barwa złota, klarowne, piana jasnożółta, drobnobańkowa, wysoka, trwała, zostawia ładny lacing Smak: lekki, słodowy, lekko wodniste Podniebienie: niskie nagazowanie, pustawe, dosyć pijalne
2.3 50 cl can picked up at the local Lidl discounter. Clear golden colour with a thin white head. Sweet aroma with grasses, fruits and pale malts. Taste is bitter. Medium bodied. Drying, slightly bitter finish. An industrial Lager, yet not that bad.
2.4 Clear golden colour with lasting head. Smells like how all beer smelled when you were a kid. A bit grainy, a bit bitter. Low carbonation
2.1 Croatian standard lager – the main competitor of that other Croatian macro beer, Karlovačko. Can shared by Craftmember, thanks. Medium thick, moussy, stable head lacing in shards over a clear, yellowish ‘old’ golden beer with visible sparkling – looking a tad darker than usual for a standard pale lager, and indeed a colorant was added to achieve this effect (as such not an uncommon addition in Eastern European industrial lagers). Aroma of the water from a can of corn, actual soggy popcorn, wet chicken food, industrial apple juice of the lowest possible quality, grass, rainwater, old rubber. Sweetish, corn-like flavour, very unidimensional, lots of fizzy carbonation (artificially ‘injected’ of course), thin and cereally from beginning to end with this sweetish effect becoming quite boring and ‘whiny’ if you see what I mean. Luckily though, a grassy, somewhat lingering hop bitterness appears in the end, quite a redeeming factor in this case – the only one. Simple industrial pale lager, typical Eastern European style, with some unpleasant side effects in the nose (that weird rubbery accent), but on the plus side, showing a slightly above average hop bitterness for this dreary style. Unfortunately the basic structure is so poor that I can only give it a poor score - though I did like this one better than its national competitor.
3.4 En rigtig god pilsner
3.1 Fles 50cl in Jezerce. Maltig, grainy, zoeten, licht hoppig, licht bittertonen. Fijne balans. (9-9-2021).
2.3 Gut 2,3 Kroatien
2.5 500ml can. Clear, orangey, golden colour with average to huge, thick, creamy, moderately lasting and lacing, white head. Rather expressionless, slightly strawy and grainy aroma, a touch of maize. Taste is pale malty, minimally fruity, hints of green and yellow apple, subtle sweetness. Watery texture, smooth and minimally dry palate, fine and soft carbonation. Light, refreshing - a thirst quencher.
2.7 Can @ camping. Clear yellow w a large white head, nice lacings. Aroma medium malty (caramel), light hoppy (flowery). Flavor medium sweet, light bitter. Medium body, average carbonated.
2.4 V souboji dvou nejkultovnejsich chorvatských piv vítězi s karlovackem. Čekal jsem to horší, ale jinak to samozřejmě žádná sláva bohužel není.
2.1 Pils croate, pas cher
2.7 Copenhagen 25/7 2021. 50 cl can from Lidl, Slotsgde, Odense. Drawing of an industrial landscape in yellow and a lot of the mandatory Croatian squares on the can. Pours clear, pale yellow with a mid-sized white hed. Stable and fluffy. Settles as 1,5 cm thick layer of foam covering the surface of the beer. Substantial lacing. Aroma is moderately intense with a light, fruity odor mingling with sweet malts. Sweet pale malts, grass, oxidized apples and hints of caramel. Light carbonation. Thin, watery, soft, lightly tinging texture. Flavor is moderately intense with a medium strong sweetness followed by a slightly stronger bitterness. Aftertaste is sweetish with a bitter undertone. Lingers for a bit. Finish is semi-dry. Not bad compared to many Southern European Lagers. Clean and not too sweet.
2.5 Very nice long-lasting foam and a nice aroma of malt and caramel. The taste is a little caramel malt and a slightly spicy taste of freshly cut grass. It is a good and typical lager that tastes towards the Bavarian and Czech lagers and it is probably also from these regions that this Croatian brewery has their brewing traditions. It has a nice soft finish and a suitably balanced hop bitterness where I think it has a slightly spicy touch that is a bit reminiscent of dried thyme. It is light in taste and at the same time thirst-quenching and here in the Danish summer it certainly a good lager.
2.7 Yellow colour with white head. Smell of malt and caramel. Taste is light with malt, caramel and grass / thyme. Refreshing after 5 hours in the garden.
2.4 Can on summer Croatia vacation. Typical lager with hints of malt in taste. Refreshing
3.1 Clear amber big white head. Aroma is light, grain and malt. Taste is malt, grain, grass. Nice balanced bitterness. Crisp. Very drinkable.
2.7 Old rating from 2017 - 330ml bottle brought back from Croatia by my wife. Pours clear amber with a white head. Aromas & tastes of flora, honey, earth, bread & malt. Light to moderate body. Crisp finish
4.0 Buy in Konzum. Bottle 0,5L. Darker golden beautiful color. This beer is one of the most crispiest and smoothest lagers I ever drink. Great carbonation, sweet and suptile hoppy finish with great silky foam. I really don't undrestand why bad rates ? This is one great and taste lager. Easy to drink, smells great, looks good, and really crisp and drinkable. And 5% abv is great for lager. I don't like lagers less then 5% abv. Great beer and that the fact !
2.1 Clear, bright golden color and a white head. Grassy, crisp, malty and decent sweet.
2.1 Clear golden colour with rich white head. Head quickly dissipating. Aroma malty, herbal, cardboard. Taste mellow, sweet. Just a hint of bitterness. Ok in hot weather, otherwise meh.
