3.0 12 oz bottle purchased in Edisto Beach, SC. Pours a hazy golden color with a small white head and little lacing. Citrus aroma with bitter and hoppy taste. Nice balance. Average APA.
3.2 Hmm not a bad American pale ale but I didn't enjoy this as much as Palmetto's other offerings I've sampled. From a fresh bottle, pours a slightly hazy orange copper appearance, good frothy head. Malt and mango citrus hops on the nose. Taste is some malt but primarily subdued earthy yet fruity pacific hoppy notes- grapefruit stickiness in the finish. Hoppiness is pleasantly solid, pairs well with meat and potatoes. Could have a better body to it, the palate struck me as unpleasantly thin and slick. Flavor intensity could be stronger too, malty contrast is weak. Just a decent craft beer.
3.7 On the hoppy side of a pale ale. Good citrus notes with some mild mango flavored. Very tasty and drinkable. Worth a try!
3.3 This is an average beer that is light in appearance and decent in overall palate. Nice balance.
3.5 on tap at Buffalo Wild Wings in Myrtle Beach - hoppy citrus aroma and flavor. Nice hoppiness. Very good.
3.6 Poured from a 12 oz bottle poured into a point glass. Aroma- Has a nice hop aroma with a citrus finish. Appearance- A murky golden color with a small white head. Taste- Has a nice hop flavor with a nice bitter dry finish Palate- A light bodied brew with moderate carbonation. Dry but refreshing. Overall- a pretty good brew, there are better but there are also far worse.
2.6 12 oz. bottle from shrubber85- thanks again, Roger! Pours a clear gold with an inch of white head. Notes of corn, straw, sugar, grass, and pale malts. Light-bodied, with moderate carbonation. Malty mouthfeel, but simultaneously light and clean. Meh.
3.0 Tap, orange pour, white head, nose is bitter and hoppy, taste is oranges and lemons, good
2.7 12 oz bottle. (The Greenville Beer Exchange) Greenville, SC. Hazy mid-brown colour with a small off-white head. Sweet fruity hops and strong sweetish malt in the aroma. The flavour is sweet floral and fruit tea like hops, mild butterness and strong maltiness. A malty APA.
3.7 Nice pale ale. well balanced. on tap at palmetto brewery in charleston, south Carolina.
3.0 Palmetto PA on tap at the Cork & Tap (SC). slightly hazy light amber with a very good hea that leaves plenty of sticky lacing. Crisp, lively carbonation with a near medium body. Aroma: near balanced mix of hops and malts. Flavor: lightly sweet up front; mildly bitter by the finish. Some grapefruit peel in the lingering aftertaste. O: this APA is slightly aggressive but otherwise undistinguished.
3.0 Pours a hazy orange with a thick white head. Aroma of bitter hops, grapefruit forward with a sweet malt backbone. Taste is sweet malt, tropical fruit, citrus, bitter and sweet. Muted, not crisp.
3.0 On tap, poured into a shaker. Light aromas of caramel, grapefruit, and toast emanate from this one. It’s a clear, effervescent gold-honey color with a fluffy white head that disappears slowly and leaves a good lace. It’s a medium bitterness with a medium-light sweet. The medium full body has a smooth texture with a fizzy carbonation. It finishes dry with flavors of grass, citrus peel, toast, and burnt caramel. The dry burnt toast and citrus peel sticks around in the aftertaste.
3.1 12oz bottle in a tulip. Pours amber with an off-white head. Aroma of floral hops, dough and cereal, and pale and caramel malts. Flavor the same. Average texture. A decent pale ale, but not the best.
3.0 Bottle on 5/7/14. Pours a hazy golden/amber with a minimal off-white head. Nose is cascade hops, grapefruit, citrus, ripe fruit almost like candy, gummy bears. Taste is sweet fruit, citrus, malt, grass. Overall pretty good, liking the fruit that comes through but not amazing.
3.0 Not a bad little brew. Subtle but pleasant aroma of hops and citrus fruitiness. Flavor has just a touch of bitter hops. Sweet aftertaste. I can dig it.
3.7 Very good fruity citrus sweet aroma, taste is of grapefruit and just a touch too hoppy for me on the finish..good!
3.1 Another mix a six from a recent stay at Hilton Head. Gold pour with white head. Aroma of piney and citrus hops and crisp caramel malts. Good carbonation with more light citrus and pine hops. Another average type brew from my stay.
3.4 Bottle. Local pale ale with moderate hops and clean finish. A good choice if you're in SC and want to support the local brewery, but a mid-tier pale ale overall. -via BBapp
3.2 Bottle from mail dot Duane, thanks! Hazy amber with a creamy tan topper. Aroma is dusty and grainy with sweet malt and floral hops. Semi-sweet taste of caramel malts, floral hops and some vegetation to boot. Mild bitter finish.
2.8 12oz bottle pours a golden orange with a small white head. Caramel malt and hop taste.
3.3 Good beer. Golden hue, decent head on pour out of bottle. Balanced dry hopping. Not explosive hops--a rarity with American pale ales these days.
3.2 On tap. Pours the golden pale ale color. Light hops aroma with a slight lemon aftertaste. Pretty standard
3.3 16oz pour at a local bar in HHI, SC. Copper and creamy off white head. Tropical fruit, bready base, well developed. Great smooth yet big bitterness. Drinkable with nice prickly carbonation. Great balance between fruity bitterness and a malty base.
3.2 Pours hazy orange-amber-gold with a creamy light tan head. Aroma is malty, caramel, orange-peel, pine. Flavour is soft caramel with an easy hop bitter... Deep pine, resin. Very pleasant.
3.0 Bottle. Bready caramel malt and orange hops aroma. Hazy orange amber with a moderate off-white head. Biscuity caramel malt, slightly metallic citrus hops flavor. Light body, soft carbonation.
3.4 Hazy amber pour with a white head. Aromas of floral and citrus hops. Flavor is solid malt backbone with some hops shining through in the finish. Not a super hoppy brew, but that isn’t necessarily a bad thing. Would be a great hoppier session beer.
3.1 12 oz bottle purchased as a single at Growler’s Craft Beer & Ales in Hilton Head, South Carolina. The pour is a lightly hazed golden orange, with a smallish white head. The aroma is lightly caramel malt, and a faint whisper of citrus hops. As the beer warmed, the caramel found a bit of fruit sweet. The taste was pretty flabby, the caramel, light toast malt followed by a grass mild citrus. The palate is medium to light bodied, soft carbonation, and a sweet dry finish. Tasted a bit more like an English Pale Ale.
2.9 12 oz. can courtesy of queenholly. Hazy amber / gold color with thin white head. Nose is pine resin with some bread malt hiding underneath. The flavor is pine and weak citrus hops with bland malt. Backbone of the beer is toasted grain / corn. Light resin finish.
2.6 Bottle. Golden color. Decent head. Weak, watery, hay, citrus. Taste about the same. Much better pale ales out there.
