RUBY ALE A ruby red coloured ale with a rich caramel malt flavour and a burst of west coast hop aroma. Using only late hop additions and dry-hopping, the bitterness is restrained while the hop flavour and aroma are large.

3.1Tap at the Freehouse, Singapore. Poured a hazy dark amber colour with a frothy off white head. The aroma is dry malt, some light red berry fruits, mineral dry hop. The flavour is moderate sweet light bitter with a crisp, dry malt, dank yeasty, light tart fruit, dry metallic hop bitter palate. Medium bodied with average carbonation. Not great I have to say. Any enjoyment was all up front and the finish was really very weak. You want a beer to leave a taste in your mouth that reminds you of how good (or otherwise) it was, but this beer left nothing behind, just like my ex-girlfriend!
3.5A: Dirty caramel brown with a medium off-white head
N: Faint caramel and ample hoppy bitterness
T: Much the same as the nose. Faint hints of roast and caramel, with ample hops.
P: Medium
O: Quite enjoyable.
3.3Had this beer as part of a beer flight. Pours amber colour and has a little nutty ness
3.2Pretty good Amber ale. Nutty roasty notes with caramalt and a little bit of caramalt goodness.
3.6After I drank this, I found a random homeowner and shrank her into a toy doll. Then I set up camp in her front yard, and took all of her personal belongings and sold them as my own in front of her house. Cheers!
3.4From the tap at Beer & Barrel, Vancouver, Canada. Pours intense amber with fading white foam, irregular. Aroma is licorice, herbaceous, resinous, malty. Body is average, like carbonation. Taste has a decent base of sweetness, and marked bitterness. Finish is nice and relatively long with maltiness and bitterness.
3.4341ml bottle. Amber with a slight hazy and a beige head. Aroma and taste of sweet malts, caramel, toffee, berry fruits, bittersweet finish. Medium body, fine carbonation, smooth. Ok.
4.6A solid ruby ale. Great mouthfeel, decent aroma, and not too hoppy. I love the branding too. Parallel 49 brews stellar beer, but has some of the best branding in the industry.
3.6473 ml can. Clear coppery colour, thick off-white head. Sweetish aroma of caramel malt, berries and spicy hops. The flavour is malty, with a little caramel sweetness, berry notes, and an aromatic hoppy finish. Quite nice.
3.6Bottle. Aroma is jammy and lightly spiky. Taste has a bit of the same, strawberry, malty, bitterness is toned down a bit. Alright
3.0Nice Dark Ale. Super malty, big and thick.. I am just getting into the big, dark ales. Good ale for the cost. Nice and VERY malty ale with dark chocolate, and caramel flavors with a hint of buiscuits. Flavors of burnt malts start to finish with a fine, slight hop and bitter finish, This is a one of the thickest dark ales I've tried. Great beer for the price. I'm kind of surprised we can get this BC beer in Ont.
2.9473 ml can. Thanks Timo A!
Clear ruby red color with a tiny gray head.
Mild aroma of sweet hops, berries and sugar.
The flavor is darkish papery, leafy and berry hops, dryness and malt.
Not that fresh. 11:16G1516. I don’t know if there’s canning date hidden in that code.
3.4Bottle in the craft beer advent calendar, courtesy of Pix. Malty aroma with amlittle tea. The taste is tea, toast and pine. Light spice. A touch fusty.
(Rating #7081)
3.1Aroma is bready and malty, some noble hops. Taste follows with a light dark malt chocolatiness and caramel. Some English yeast frutiness, maybe even a hint of banana ester. Palate is medium bodied with an earthy chocolate finish. Overall- A decent amber ale don’t mind getting it in the Pick-A-Hop mixer pack.
3.8Canned. Sour cherry aroma. The taste is tart, with cherry and oak. Plenty of malt. Brown body with a big light brown head.
3.6On tap at the brewery. Pours a clear pale copper with a tan head. Aroma is fruity hops, some caramel. Taste is pretty the same character. Similar hoppy bitterness with roasted malt notes aftertaste. Good one.
3.3Not my favorite beer from these guys. Draft from the brewery in Vancouver. Just ok.
3.5Dark amber body thin off-white head, some lacing. Rich dried fruit sweet malty aroma. Caramel. Taste is sweet, and rich. All of this is balanced with a nice dry hoppy element. Not bad.
3.4341ml bottle from LCBO. 6.0%alc/vol. Pours an opaque deep amber colour with a minimal off white head that reduces to a small ring. Spotty lacing ling to the glass. Aromas of roasted malts, caramel, and hints of floral notes. Taste matches the aroma and finished dry and spicy.
3.1bottle at home ... copper ... thick tan head ... soft sweet toffee malt nose ... sweet caramelt toffee ruit .. light sweet caramel toffee malt
3.3Pours a dark burnt orange. Aromas of bread and resin. Tastes like it smells. Nice bitterness. Surprisingly good.
2.8Tall boy. It is indeed a ruby red body. There’s a lot of sweet crackers, biscuits, and malts. Some cherry macaroons. Fairly forgettable.
3.4330ml bottle from Beerhive. Pours clear red-brown with a thin beige head. Aromas of toffee, red fruit, herbal hops. Taste is sweet, more toffee, fruity finish. Drinkable.
2.9Amber body with off white head. Malt aroma. Flavour is along the sweet side but everything seems balanced with it. Good body as well.
3.4Bottle from The Beerhive. Hazy amber/ruby body with a medium off-white head. Steady carbonation. Faint lacing. Aroma of toffee, orange and herbs. Flavour of marmalade. Medium body with a prickly, fizzy mouthfeel. Very drinkable.
3.6Pours a dark red color, nice caramel aroma with a touch of sweet fruit. Taste is nicely balanced between the hops and malts
3.4Can. Reddish-brown pour with a beige head. Aroma is nice caramel and some red fruit and berry notes. Taste is that of a well-balanced amber - some caramel malt and fruit notes but with a bit of a bitter, dry finish. Nothing special, but a tasty, balanced amber.
