2.9Meh. Just an average beer at best. Slightly nitty with some roasted malt notes. Pours brown with a thin tan head. Had out of a bottle from home from a beer of the month club. Terrible choice dudes
2.9Birra discreta, ormai vecchia che porta nocciole solo al naso, debolmente, insieme ad un bell’aroma di orzo. In bocca è solo orzo, tostatura, ed un finale al caramello bruciato. Liscia, leggera, non indimenticabile
3.3Poured from bottle into a pint glass
Appearance – The beer pours a deep amber-lighter brown color with a brown tinted head of one finger height. The head has a decent level of retention, slowly fading over time to leave a lighter level of foamy lace on the sides of the glass.
Smell – The aroma of the brew is heaviest of a molasses and brown sugar smell mixed with a nice roasty bread and toasted nut smell. With a little bit of a light fruit smell working its way in as well, one is left with an overall very pleasant and sweet smell.
Taste- The taste begins with a caramel and molasses taste with a little bit of a roasted malt upfront. As the taste advances the sweet fades a little bit, but is replaced by more and more roast, with some toasted nut flavors joining the taste as well. The loss of the sweet and increase in the roast and toasted nut brings a little bit of a bitterness to the taste, and with some light grassy and herbal hop also joining the tongue at the end, one is left with a somewhat more bitter and slightly roasty and sweet flavor to linger on the tongue.
Mouthfeel-The body of the brew is on the slightly thinner side while the carbonation that is rather average. A little thicker of a body may have been slightly better for the roasted and sweet flavors of the brew, but even with that said, the feel was rather decent overall.
Overall – An alright roasty, somewhat bitter, and slightly nutty brew overall with a bit of sweetness which fades toward the end. While fairly easy drinking, it is not anything to call home about. Overall a good brew to try, but nothing to anticipate anything great from.
3.5Pours a dark brown color with a caramel head. Mild aroma. Tastes reminiscent of bread, nuts, and malt. Very nice smooth mouth feel. Not very heavy. Overall, quite nice.
3.012 oz bottle from AOPD monthly beers The ale poured a clear very dark amber to brown. A nice looking ale with a very small head. The aroma of sweet caramel malts greet you. The ale lacks some body but has a pleasant taste. The light body brown ale has soft carbonation. A drinkable ale but with some deficiencies as noted. The finish was dry with some metallic notes.
3.0pours hazy chestnut. sweet malty aroma. flavour is nutty malts, dark chocolate. somewhat sour, dry finish.
3.6Pours a reddish brown with an off white head. A nutty malt aroma. Flavors of caramel and malt.
3.1Bottle. Pours clear reddish hazel, medium tan head, dissipates fairly quickly, decent lacing. Aroma is malty, nutty, bready, hint of grass, light smoke. Flavor is light sweet, very light bitter, nutty, malty, grassy. Light plus body, a bit acidic, but otherwise a middle of the road example of a middle of the road style.
2.8Not much aroma but a good nutty caramelized sugar flavor. Enjoyed in the bottle at my brothers house.
3.2Sweet malty aroma of bread, caramel, nuttiness, earthy hop
Pours a clear light brown with small frothy off white head
Bready sweet and slightly tart flavor with caramel and nuttiness.
Medium light bodied with medium low co2, smooth silky feel, nutty finish
Easy drinking enjoyable brew. Well balanced and interesting enough to make me want to drink more.
3.0Pours a finger of head on a clear brown body.
The aroma is dry hay, barnyard and grain.
The taste at first nutty, toasted malt, then finishes with a sharper bitterness.
The texture is crisp and fizzy.
The taste finishes weird and the texture was too thin.
3.0Pours brown from a bottle, aroma is caramelized brown sugar, flavor is roasted coffee, some bitter nuts. Okay beer.
2.8Bottle. Poured a clear ruby brown color with a small off-white head. Aroma was some sweet nutty notes. Light malt, nuts. Light, inoffensive, but a bit watery. Light toasted notes, light toffee.
3.5Dark brown pour with thin tan head, color is excellent. Smell is mild malt and slightly nutty. Taste is also a bit underwhelming with a sweetness that quickly fades to a clean nut finish. Only real nit is it seems a bit overcarbonated. Otherwise very drinkable in quantity!
2.5Bottle shared at Bob’s. Aroma is malty malt malt with just a hint of cellar and dirt. Pours dull brown with a decent white head. Taste is more dirt and maltness. No real nut taste or dark fruits. Really one dimmensional and not that tasty. Wasn’t a huge fan.
3.2Bottle at Bishops Arms Järntorget, on October 26, 2014. During "Porterveckan 2014".
BB Sep 14 if I read the label correct.
Hazy brown color, small teal head. Malty, sweet, light fruit, orange zest scent. Malty, fresh, light bitter taste. Fizzy mouthfeel, medium bitterness.
3.4Smooth and fresh, but not overly complex or full bodied. Very drinkable. A decent session brown. The nuttiness was not as rich as I was expecting. This reminds me of the typical well-made local brewpub’s brown offering: fresh, friendly and quaffable, but nothing too exciting or groundbreaking.
2.1Bottled: Craft or crafty? CRAFTY. Lots of marketing not much substance. Food Pairing: Nutella!
3.3Draft at Busboys & Poets. Aroma of malts and nuts, tastes like roasted malts and nuts. Very English'y and I like it.
2.7Poured from 12 ounce bottle from Beer Of The (Every Other) Month Club. Medium dark brown/amber hue, small tan head, nice sweet nutty/malt aroma but flavor is marred by a chemical taste. This is "organic"? If so, gimme some artificial ingredients.
2.8Aroma of malts and nuts. Tastes very watered down compared to Peak’s other offerings. Tastes like roasted malts and nuts, not a whole lot of other flavors present which is also unlike their other beers. Not my favorite. Try their Pale Ale, IPA, Summer Session or Coffee/Espresso beers and take a pass on this one.
3.2Bottle; dark brown color with a frothy khaki head. Aroma of must, chalk, caramel, nuts and veggies. Flavor was better, with some roasted and nutty notes. Dry.
3.8Draft. Pours brown with lite white head that dissipates. Lite carbonation with nice nut aroma. Tasty brown ale with nice nut flavors.
3.512oz brown bottle. Pours a nice red brown colour, clear. Small and thin beige cap, lace rings. Nose has caramel and chocolate malts. Taste has light caramel, dark chocolate. Dry finish with a bit of nutty malt and dark chocolate, and a some roasty iron like mineral notes in the aftertaste. Light bodied with average carbonation. Overall a nice brown ale, simple and drinkable. Maybe it’s cause the fall weather has hit me, I dunno, but really enjoying this one.
2.9Boring brown with a reddish body, soapy beige head and a nose of light caramel and hops. Medium bodied and mildly toasted cara malts, a hint of citrus and fruity hops. Bland middle with a moderate hop and bad taste left behind.
3.2Doesn’t seem like a brown ale to me it’s more like an Alt or a red IPA. Sweet malty caramel aroma. Sweet hoppy bready flavor. English personality. Doughy finish.
3.4Bottle. Pours dark amber with an off white head. Looks great. Aroma is minimal, some molasses and fruitiness. Flavor is a bit light to start, some nuttiness that is quickly taken by some linger piney hop bitterness. The bitterness is not strong but it does linger. Overall a good beer and one of my favorite styles.
2.6Roasted nuts and caramel. Clear light brown, lacy head. Pretty sweet, kind of grainy, strange blood and metal aftertaste. Light, soft, and chewy. Not the best brown ale around.
3.0Standard nut ale. Light chocolate caramel flavor, very smooth but nothing special. Pretty much what you would expect to get
2.9Im not a big fan of nut beers. But this one was pretty good. If i could buy it locally i would.
