Pelican Tsunami Stout

Pelican Tsunami Stout

Midnight black color and rich dark-roasted aroma. Specially blended hops combine with flaked unmalted barley to give this brew a full body and a dense creamy head. All elements combine in a solid, lingering finish.

Bona
3.9 Pite w domu, butelka 12 fl. Kolor czarno brązowy, nieprzejrzysty, piana ładna zostawia ładne ślady na szkle. Aromat czekolady i kawy, klasyczny stout.
3.7 Bottle. Near black, beige head. Aroma coffee, chocolate. Medium body, soft carbonation. Bitter taste and palate with softly sour elements (like in sour-tasting espresso).
3.8 355ml bottle. Pours black with a tan head. Aroma of dark malts, roast, chocolate, coffee, hops. Taste of sweet dark malts, chocolate, coffee, roast, subtle fruit, bitter finish. Medium bodied, smooth, soft carbonation. Decent.
3.7 Aroma of cocoa,roasted malt.Taste of roasted malt,cocoa,faint dark fruits,watery body..
4.0 Piana obfita, drobna i trwała. Barwa ciemno brązowa, nieprzejrzysta, z brązowymi refleksami. W aromacie czekolada, kawa zbożowa i pumpernikiel... W smaku półsłodkie, gładkie, puszyste, z przyjemną śliwką w czekoladzie i razowcem.
4.0 (malté-rôti & µ-fumé, bouche idem (too h2o), pas tsusami-esque, bonnes petites saveurs, µ-casso, ~miel sarrasin)
3.7 Bottle 13/7/2018. Pours black, with a dark brown edge and small mocha head. Aromas of grog, followed by berries and flowers, along with heavily roasted malt, bordering on smoked, tobacco and espresso. Complex flavour profile of spruce, dark chocolate, heavily roasted malt, camp fire and wood smoke and a berry and espresso finish. Not quite as full bodied as I expected, but an enjoyable winter beer.
3.7 Bottle from Beer Republic. Poured near black with a thin tan head. Milk chocolate, roastedness, tobacco and coffee. Smooth mouthfeel that turns quite dry in the finish, nice roastedness, chocolate and coffee notes. Pleasant.
3.5 Draft at the brewery pub: pours dark black with a tan head, malty aroma, taste is malty and bitter, dry finish with a fairly thin body.
3.4 Sampled at the Cannon Beach Brewpub. Brown color. Clean roast, easy drinking. Little too sweet. 7/3/6/4/14
3.8 Black with small beige head. Roasted aroma, coffee and chocolate. Caramely flavour, coffe and dark chocolate. Bittersweet. Solid.
3.4 Bottle. Almost black. Malt, Caramel Apple And laurel in the aroma And flavor. Full bodied. Sweet, low on Carbon. Good, not brilliant.
3.9 355ml bottle from Elizabeth Station. Bottled on 2017-10-03. Pours a very dark brown with a dark beige head. Aroma is roasted malt with slight fruity notes. Taste is similar. Roasted malt aftertaste with some chocolate notes. Pleasant.
Helder donker bruin kleur, fijne romige bruine schuimkraag. De geur van chocolade en koffie. Smaak is zoet, chocolade, cacao en bessen. Medium lichaam, weing koolzuur.
3.4 22 oz bottle poured into a pint glass. Just about a perfect PNW stout. Hits the "truth" right in the middle. This is too say not to overwhelming and not too meek. A great balanced ale that's a gift from my wife. Thanks wife! Don't forget to thank God for beer!
3.5 Pours dark brown with medium beige head. Aroma is coffee, vanilla, roast, warm campfire, spruce, chocolate. Taste is roast, coffee, some sourness, wooden, hardwood, a bit flat, some chocolate. Nice and warming beer!
3.9 355ml bottle. Jet black colour with average, thick, creamy, fairly lasting and lacing, tan head. Chocolately, roasty, spicy, dark malty aroma, notes of dark chocolate, hints of liquorice, treacle, cocoa, roasted nuts, a minimally ashy, smoky touch. Taste is roasty dark malty, moderately bitter hoppy, slightly fruity, notes of cocoa, dark chocolate, blueberries with a minimally metallic touch, hints of liquorice, a minimally ashy, smoky touch in the finish. Well balanced, highly drinkable - rightly top of the style.
4.0 From Beer Market La Louvière >> Stout amer et sirupeux.
4.1 You cannot go wrong with a pelican brewery beer. They don't skimp. Its a great stout but i prefer another Oregon stout - obsidian stout from deschutes brewery. About as good as guiness
4.1 Great beer, great brewery with a sweet location! Perfect stout for a cold windy day on the Oregon Coast! Strong, dark with just enough bite to feel!
4.4 Pours with a small head that disappears quickly. Color is very dark brown, almost black. Aroma is sweet, milky coffee, sort of like a Wiener Melange. Some licorice swirls. Very gentle burnt hint. Palate is rather balanced, more to the dry than oily, but also noticeably "thick" palate. Sharp, small carbonation. Taste is similar to the aroma, quite harmonious. A weaker version of the Melange aroma, there's slightly more burnt but still quite elegant and not too overwhelming, swirls of smooth, sweet marsipan or vanilla marshmallow, faint orange taste and light grapefruit-like bitterness in aftertaste. Quite elegant, candy-/confectionary-like, but not too sweet at all beer.
3.2 2/XII/17 - 12Fl. Oz. bottle @ post-Billies Craft Beer Festival tasting, Eugene's place - BB: n/a, bottled: II/8/17 (2017-2085) Thanks to Eugene for sharing his early bird booker festival gift! Clear dark brown beer, big creamy beige head, unstable, bit adhesive. Aroma: very malty, grains, sweetish. MF: soft carbon, medium body. Taste: very malty, grains, very roasted, soft bitterness, hay, cow fodder. Aftertaste: little bitter, pretty malty, some chocolate, soft roast, bitter, malty, bit sourish, not really great. How is this a 99/99 beer? Oh well, maybe I was just not in the mood for malt juice...
3.1 BLack with medium brown head. Aroma is treber some syrup. Less chocolate and caramel. Some dried leaves. Taste is dry treber with slight syrup flowery sweetness. Not so smooth. A bit perfumey. Underwhelming.
4.0 Bottle. Dark brown to black color. Thin brown head. Taste is medium bitter, light to medium sweet. Body is thin to medium. Aroma and flavour is chocolate, coffee, roasted beans, vanilla, chili, dried fruits.
3.4 Dark brown color with beige head. Aroma has roasted malt, dark chocolate and some brown sugar. Taste is malty, slightly sweet at first but gets more roasty and bitter on the finish. Medium to light body, medium carbonation. Decent stout, nothing fancy.
3.7 LCI. Uit de fles geschonken. Prima stout, redelijk vol van smaak, gebrande mout, rokerig. Lekker!
