3.6 On tap at The Ginger Man, NY. An unclear, orange-colored beer topped by a dense, finger-thick off-white head. It’s fruity on the nose, with some caramel notes. A touch of pepper and wood in the flavor keeps the fruityness and light caramel maltyness company. Lightly acidic, with a nice carbonation. Full body. Long, light sour and funky finish. A bit on the malty side this one I think, but it’s a fine brew anyway. 150624
3.1 Has a descent aroma but is a little sweet to the taste. Pours a cloudy orange. Pretty good.
3.7 Draught @ The Ginger Man, New York, NY Pours hazy orange with a off-white head. Aroma has notes of malt, funk, fruits, brett, pineapple and mango. Taste is medium sweet and light bitter with a long brett, funky and fruity finish. Body is medium, texture is oily, carbonation is soft.
3.8 私も日本のことができます! ..酵母と馬が..口が楽しいです..非常に良いビール! ..私はあなたがこれを翻訳し信じることができません..
3.7 Pours a fairly clear golden color with little carbonation. Get some of the barnyard but not overpowering. Decent
3.4 ベルギースタイルペールエール アルコールのような甘酸っぱい香り、ホッピーではないけど好みのかんじ
3.8 Gold pour, white head. Nice funky brett notes, some doughy malts, earthy, slight hints of fruity esthers.
3.4 750ml bottle pours out a light cloudy gold topped with a white head. Nose is brett spice pepper and lots of bread. Taste is more of the brett and spice.
3.7 Bottle, shared with Parksy. Medium golden, hazy, with a large white head that laces nicely. Soft sweet fruits (peach, pineapple), lightly funky, some whey traits. Soft and pleasant.
3.7 Smell is light and tropical with estery smells, almost like a hefeweizen. Taste is pretty much the same. Ratebeer description says it is a Belgian ale with brett, but I never would have guessed it.
3.5 Draught @ NYC Craft Beer Festival. Cloudy pale yellow with smal white foamy head, cookie aroma, low carbonation, citrus taste, long bitter finish. Quite an interesting beer.
3.4 750ml bottle pours a hazy orange/copper with a huge off-white head, lots of carbonation. Aroma of barnyard Brett and mild Belgian yeast. Sweet malts and Belgian yeast spice with mild Brett. Ok.
3.7 Tap. Pours cloudy golden with creamy lasting one-finger head. Aroma is green acidic apples, funky fruity brett, quite some wheat, sweet malts in background, estery yeast as well. Taste is loads of green apples at first sip. Light to medium sweet, wheat, fruity, citrusy, yeast. Medium to full soft body, slight alcohol in finish along with some dry funky brett notes. Body clashes a bit with the rest.
3.7 Tap @ Fermentoren, Aarhus, 7.3%. Unclear amber with small off-white head. Aroma is malt, fruit, yeast, hop, brett, little lemon, little leather with notes of acetone. Flavour is malt, fruit, yeast, brett, notes of acetone, little lemon, little barnyard, little peach, little caramel, little dry, notes of acid and medium bitter.
3.5 Draught @ Fermentoren, Århus. Pours slightly hazy golden with a creamy white head. Aroma of malt, yeast, sweet fruit, peach. Flavor is light sweet, malt, yeast, peach, grapefruitpeel, little spice. Medium body, average carbonation, light warming alcoholic finish. 080315
3.4 Tap @ Fermentoren, Aarhus. Hazy orange with an off-white head. Aroma is sweet, malty, fruity and yeasty. Flavor is quite sweet and moderate bitter. Light dry and moderate bitter finish. 080315
3.5 Sample at HMOG 2015. Buttery and big body. A little spice on the finish. Lemon and light citrus fruit.
3.5 Bottle. Murky orange with a visible life and a fluffy off-white head. Somewhat typical funky belgian nose with a light odd bit of cinnamon / bread pudding hiding in there. Taste is fruity and a bit sweet, would prefer a drier finish.
3.8 Bottle shared with my wife. Golden hazy colour with nice frothy head. Aroma is brett funk, citrus, apricot, and hay. Taste is sour citrus, orange peel, and blue cheese, finishes dry, a touch thin, with medium carbonation. I sat on this bottle for about 10 months and my oh my has the brett character ever come to life, lots of funk in this one and pretty damn tasty overall.
3.7 Tasted in July 2013 from a capped 750mL bottle that Adam and I picked up during a baseball trip in St. Louis. Pours golden orange with a thick white head that leaves thick, messy lace. The nose is light bread malt with funky and spicy brett funk. The flavor is very dry and is a vehicle to showcase the spicy and funky brett yeast. The body is medium with average carbonation and a long, funky, spicy, and light bread malt finish.
3.8 Draft. Medium yellow with frothy white head. Pretty fruity. Not much brett. Sweet. Tasty.
3.5 [Tap] Pours a hazy orange color with a lot of dense head on top. Yeast and Brett in the nose. Pear, green apple and floral notes make an appearance as well. The taste is of sweet fruits, grass, grains, clove and crackers. Dry finish. Lively carbonation. Good.
3.4 750mL bottle, pours a cloudy dark golden with a small white head. Aroma reveals notes of Belgian yeast and sweet cereal malts - not getting any brett. Flavour is identical, with sweet cereal, Belgian yeast and bready malt. Not very complex, with quite a doughy finish. It’s okay.
3.7 On tap at Perennial, pours a hazy golden orange with a bubbly white head and lacing in the glass, the aroma is of fruit at first with some of the brett and the dryness coming through, the flavor has a sweeter front end with some belgian yeast and candy sugar but then turns tart and dry with the brett in the finish, interesting.
3.3 Still yet another 750 ml bottle Got at Binny’s during my Chicago Black Friday trip. Cloudy gold /orange in color with thin head. Smells of spent grain, light fruit and light yeast. Flavor is a good amount chewy yeast with hints of fruit upfront. Light esters banana, bubblegum and weak citrus hints. I don’t pick out much in the way of the Brett yeast character but it still has some nice flavors. Lighter body with a higher then desirable carbonation level. The chewy yeast doesn’t really come out in the body as much as the first half of the snifter indicated to me. The Brett is subdued.
3.6 on tap @SAVOR-Thin white-yellow/gold. A-Tart lt malt, T-tart lt malt, drying finish.
3.5 On tap at Capitol Beer & Tap Room. Pours Cloudy golden with a rich beige head and a fruity aroma. There is a slightly sour caramel malt flavor with some banana ester.
3.5 @ The Ginger Man à Manhattan. Une bière jaune orangée avec une mousse épaisse et solide. Un nez de brett avec du grain. La bouche me rappelle le seigle, elle est acide. Une finale agréable sur les bretts.
3.4 At Ale Arsenal. Spicy, funky nose with wheat malt backing. Hazy orange with white head leaving a collar. Taste is barn like and chewy yeast. Slight orange. Dry finish. Moderate spritzy aspects on finish.
3.8 11/2/14. 750mL bottle from Chan’s in Sandestin area. This isn’t listed as sour/wild ale? CLevar would be so proud. 😢 Anyway... into a teku. Lightly hazed orange pour with a ginormous, thick, fluffy, creamy khaki head that completely coats the glass with lacing. Brett aroma all over, fruity, grapefruit, a little musty, some cardboardy and malty aspects. Better flavor, much better, Brett all over, grapefruit, fruity, a touch of chalky smarties, a bit of malt sweetness, lingers dry and chalky. Tasty!
