2.5 Pint can pours a clear pale golden with a large off white head. Sweet malt aroma with light underlying grain and grassy hops. Sweet caramel syrup malt extract with a light bitterness on the finish.
2.7 From old tasting notes. Medium yellow gold. Bubbly white head. . Light malty aroma.mzesty hop flavor upfront.bsomewhat dry character throughout. Light dry finish.
2.1 Can. Pours a clear pale yellow gold with a white head that dissipates quickly to the edges. Aroma has lots of sweet grains with some corn with a bit of straw supporting. Flavor is very similar with sweet grains, corn and a bit of hay and straw underlying.
2.1 Can. Golden yellow with one finger rapidly diminishing head. Honestly, I expected worse. Corn and grass. Very light hops. Definitely crappy, but not awful.
1.6 16.9 oz. can. Purchased at Trader Joes, Omaha location. Pour was very clear golden, foamy white head that disappeared in an instant. Aroma was grass, weeds, apple. Taste was watery, grassy.
1.9 Gold. Dark. little to no head. Almost no carbonation. Smells gummy. Tastes flat like sweet, bitter grain. Malt liquor appeal. Germans ought to stick to German beer.
2.1 Rated from old notes. Starts rich, seems promising, but then seems slightly off when going down. Weird large bubbles suggest artificial carbonation. Vague fruitiness adds some interest, but this is a disappointment.
3.0 Can from Trader Joes. Yellow pour with white head that dies quickly. Some spotty lacing on the glass. Nose is light but bready. Light hops. There is a creaminess on the palate and mouthfeel that is quite pleasant. I don’t recall seeing this in either The Netherlands nor Germany. I’ll bet that at this price it’s like their version of "Milwaukees Best". But because it has no corn or rice it’s 100 times better than that. This is less than $6 for a six pack of pints. Very nice at any price, but excellent for only six bucks more than free!
2.9 Can pour, decent head. Typical euro lager aroma and taste. Not too bad. I didn’t have any trouble finishing it.
2.6 Type: 500ml can (16.9 oz.) Glass: Lagunitas mason jar From: Barons Market in Alpine, Calif. Price: $5.99 for a 6-pack Purchased: Oct. 2, 2015 Consumed: Oct. 2, 2015 Misc.: Canned on April 9, 2016 Poured a copper, pale, clear color with three fingers of white, frothy head. A good deal of bubble streams shooting straight up from the bottom of the glass. No lacing on the sides of the glass. No retention on the top. (Sight - 3.25) Smelled honey, corn, butter, grass, cereal, wheat and light sourdough bread. (Smell - 3.50) Tasted much worse than the nose, mainly getting farm smells. Particularly hay, grass, faint manure, cereal, corn, wheat and maybe a touch of honey. (Taste - 2.75) Light body. Thin texture. Soft carbonation. Abrupt, grassy finish. (Feel - 2.75) As bad as I was expecting it, this was not good, even for the price. Oranjeboom is much better. (Overall - 2.75) 2.96 69 C-
2.8 Can from TJs. Brewed in Germany according to the label. Nose is barley malt and mild, herbal noble-like hops. Flavor is bready and very pure tasting barley malt bill - which is very nice for this price range in the US. Good balance between a tea-like hop flavor and mildly sweet malt. A good seemingly adjunct free lager that might just be a bit excessive on the hop extract - but that is expected for the price. This beats almost every US macro lager right out of the gate. I suspect that this the kind of cheap and readily available barley driven beer that most Americans rave about after visiting the continent after a lifetime of watery corn and rice crap.
2.8 Light grainy aroma, with hints of sweet malt, not much in the way of hops. Pours a clear light amber with a quickly fading white head. There’s a touch of grassy hops, but not enough to balance out the sweet grainy malt. Light bodied, with just a slightly sweet finish. Not a good example of the pilsener style.
2.6 Can in Seattle, from Trader Joe’s. Alright European pils, rather tart and crisp compared to cheap American versions. Lagering sour, clean, but macro. Just ok.
2.6 Aroma of yeast, pours a pale golden color with a light body and a sweet grain taste. A light grain finish:
1.5 Disappointment not good Peter’s Brand Germany Pilsener/Lager 5.0%. No head very flat no bubbles.
2.2 16oz can from Trader Joe’s, about $1.20 for single can, poured into pils glass Aroma: light grainy, slight cracker, somewhat spicy/noble hops, clean Appearance: gold, very clear, white head Taste: light bitter Palate: medium body, creamy, light bitter finish Overall: Not a lot going on in this beer. Hops are very subtle, too subtle for style. A slight bitterness in finish, but that’s about it. Body and color is good, but just lacks a bit in the taste. Nothing horrible, but just nothing in the taste to comment on either good or bad, just a lot of things missing.
2.6 good malty smell, taste is all malt, smooth but uneventful...very much a generic beer
1.5 Some kind of random, mildly offensive lager. Had a tall can of this at a friend’s place last night. Tastes like adjuncts. From trader Joe’s.
1.6 Poured into a dimple mug from a 16 oz. can. Aroma - Next to nothing on the nose. Hay, something faintly sweet?Appearance - Clear golden color with sticky, soapy head. Taste - Sweet notes of corn, white bread. Grassy hops make an appearance but they do little to balance the bigger sweet flavors. Cooked vegetables (DMS?). Metallic notes and grainy notes linger on the palate. Palate - Thin and light bodied with snappy carbonation. Overall - On par with other mass produced lagers. Cheap ($6.50 at Trader Joe?s) and easy drinking. You shouldn?t expect much more.
1.7 A Netherlands Bud perhaps? Not quite as funny face inducing as coors light or miller or bud, but really not a lot better either. Generic sweetness and a too carbonated thin feel. Not impressed, but a tallboy for 1.39 at trader joes ain’t exactly a risk.
2.6 16 ounce can picked up from trader joe’s. Pours typical adjunct lager. Sweet malt, corn, generally sweet with a thin body. Tin finish.
1.7 500ml can. BB 19.08.15. Pours a clear and light pale gold wiht a large industrial white head. Smell is basic hay and tart hops, bit of rubber perhaps, some mint (not super oxidized but heading that way, or pastuer-oxidized). Flavor is grainy, some sweetness, watery with some spiced hops, some fruit. Very far form a pils. A typical pale lager that I would pay 20 cents for in Germany.
2.4 This is a near miss, almost a good pils but not quite. It is golden and clear with foamy white head. It has a nice floral hop nose and nice firm bitterness but it is unfortunately just a bit too sweet and the malts seem somewhat oxidized. This makes the bitterness come off as a bit metallic as well. This had nice hop character up front but finishes rather poorly.
3.0 Light golden color. Crisp, refreshing. Almost carries fruity overtones. Tastes better than similar American mass produced lagers. I’ll buy it again.
2.8 16 oz can from trader joes..poured into glass. Its a clear yellow pzle color with oxygen aroma.. I had pretfy low expectations for this but inwas suprised.. its very light znd easy drinking... nothing special ..but I would actually buy this one agIn for. Nice hot day crisp beer.. could drink alot of these
3.1 16 oz. can from Trader Joe’s here in Kansas City. Classic medium yellow body with a thick white head that sticks around.Aroma is slightly musty with yeast and moldy hay.Taste is grass, rice and alcohol, slightly sweet, yet pretty smooth. Slight after taste, but easy to drink.
2.6 Can. Light gold color. Decent head. Aroma is watery, alcohol, straw. Taste was grains with a sweet after taste.
2.2 Well, I have a great deal of respect for my neighbor’s beer IQ, and this is their "go to" beer. Sickly sweet aroma, a little skunky. Nice golden color.
1.2 Can - Malt flavor, light, uninspiring taste on the classic lager beer. Reminds me of many mass produced American beers of the same style.
1.2 This is your typical pilsner. I'm not a big fan of most so take that into account with this review. I got it as part of a sampler pack and find it to be a citrusy version of Budweiser.
