Pike Naughty Nellie

Pike Naughty Nellie

A mildly hopped beer with a complex malt character, and a soft creamy head. Soft and fruity with light yeast esters of apricot and orange. It is a refreshing and crisp session beer, with just enough hops to balance and round out the sweetness of the malt. 24 IBU 1.048 OG

3.0 Draft pour pint at Pike. Light clear golden pour with a ton of foam head and lacing. Sweet orage peel bitter aroma and flavor. Decent amount of flavor going on, but not too interesting. Bitter bread finish. Alright.
3.5 Pours a half finger of head on a hazy straw body. The aroma is a mixture of ripe orange and mandarin with a little wet hay. The taste is initially orange fruit sweet, a touch of bitter, then a little watery to the end. The texture is soft and light. It has great aroma and tastes fine.
2.7 ゴールデンエール うすめ、あまめ、ぼんやり
3.3 Draft pour at collective, thick golden pour hop aroma smoth taste, basic golden ale not to much special about this one but still a solid beer.
3.5 On June 25, 2015. At Pike Pub & Brewery in Seattle, Washington. Clear golden color, off-white head. Malty, sweet, floral, hoppy taste. Hoppy, floral, bitter aftertaste. A bit fizzzy mouthfeel, medium high bitterness. Hoppy, floral scent.
3.1 From a bomber (650mL to my metric friends). Translucent gold with slight head and mild carbonation. Fruity nose evident. Taste is weak. Slightly sweet that fizzles quickly. Coats the tongue and fades faster than cheap bubble gum. Hard to believe it contains EtOH. Drink this on a hot summer day mowing the lawn; average at best.
2.1 Rather bitter with some fruit and grain undertones. Drinkable but nothing impressive.
3.3 Tap at Pike Brewing, Seattle. Colour is clear light orange with small white head. Aromas and flavours: Fruits, grain, sweetness and malts.
3.5 Hazy gold color, short white head, aromas of honey, citrus, short dry finish, lively carbonation, good balance
2.9 Poured from a 12 oz into a tumbler on 01.01.14. A: Gold. Somewhat opaque. Head retains well. S: Pine, citrus. T: Pine, citrus, some roasty malt. M: Crisp. Felt somewhat flat. O: This tastes like an APA. There’s a little bit of nice bitterness on the back end, but the malt balances it out. This is an ok beer, but not overly impressive.
2.8 Draft sampler, Medium Amberlittle head, God lace. Aroma pale malt Taste light spruce, malt, hops bitter finish. Palate good, carbonation good.
3.7 Poured from bottle into a pint glass Appearance – The beer pours a deep golden amber color with a small fizzy white head. The head fades relatively quickly leaving only a light level of foamy lace on the sides of the glass. Smell – The aroma of the beer is strong of some lighter fruits of peach and pear along with some smells of caramel. Other bready aromas and a hint of grass and floral hops are there as well creating a rather pleasant smell overall. Taste – The taste begins with a nice smooth and sweet bready taste with the sweet being mostly of lighter fruits of apricot, peach and pear. There is a little bit of a brown sugar upfront as well, with this flavor getting slightly stronger as the taste advances. Some orange and grapefruit hop then later develop further along in the taste, and in the end, with just a hint of a floral flavor, one is left with a rather clean and sweet flavor to linger on the tongue. Mouthfeel – The body of the beer is average in terms of thickness and creaminess with a carbonation level that is on the slightly lower side. For the style a little higher carbonation may have been slightly more appropriate, but even said, the thicker body did do a nice job accentuating the mix of fruit and lighter hop , so overall the feel was pretty decent. Overall – A tasty brew with a great level of flavor and an easy drinking feel. A good session like style brew.
3.1 "brewer’s description is pretty accurate here. not the most compelling style, but within it’s class, it’s one of the best i’ve had. a fresh summer session beer. great balance and refreshing."
3.5 Sampler at brewpub. Dark gold color. Fruity hop centric beer. Cleanish malt with light fruit yeast. A vehicle for fruity hops with a ight malt backbone. A ncie clean easy drinking beer at under 5%, nice.
2.5 Meh. Not one of Pike’s better offerings, but it serves it’s place to hit the first gen craft beer drinkers.
2.9 Aroma of malt with a hint of grain. Pale caramel color creamy short lasting head. Light taste a hint of malt and grain with a watery feel and a short lasting bitter finish.
1.2 I wish I had a date on this and I realize I’m somewhat apprehensive about saying something, but I figure I’ll say something and hopefully try to get fresher someday. This was poured into a pint glass every time. The appearance was light clear golden yellow to orange color with a nice transparency about it. There was a nice two finger white foamy head that dissipated rapidly into oblivion. The lacing concaves at the top and follows the beer as it goes down. The smell, well, I honestly didn’t get what everyone before me got as there really isn’t any aroma whatsoever to this beer. There’s nothing, no hops, no malts, no nothing. The taste once again, honestly, there’s no sweetness, no bitterness, no nothing. On the palate, this is pretty light for the most part and shows a great sessionability. What carbonation - not there whatsoever. Overall, honestly I hate to do this, but I’m not exactly sure what I’m drinking right now, so uh....I would only ever have this again if I could find it on tap or if Pike’s started putting on dates on their beers. I’ve had better Blonde Ales.
3.6 Clear brilliant gold under a nice foamy white head. Nose is delightfully grassy and bitter-forward with a earthy peppery malt backbone. Big full grassy and noble hop character right up front with a smooth earthy pale malt finish.
3.2 Malt and hops, hops drying out the finish. Clear golden body, with airy head, aroma of bread, crackers, mostly malt characteristics. Taste is malt again, hops kick in on the back plane, drying it out at the finish. Very crisp and clean beer, but not as smooth and velvety as some of the British or Belgian varieties.
3.0 Pours golden with a white head. Hints of citrus in the aroma. Crisp with a bit of hop bitterness.
3.4 9/26/2012. Sampled at the brewery. Golden yellow with a white head. A lot more malt and hops than your regular golden ale. Fruity flavors with a nice bitter finish.
3.1 Clear golden. Crisp and dry for a pale ale. Bitter and hoppy as expected in the pac west. Med bodied and full throughout. Nice balance, but too dry in the finish for me.
2.7 Bottle from Bevmo: Appeared as a slightly hazed golden blond color with fat foamy heading that retreats leaving behind nothing. Aroma is minor with only a presence of grassy hops and faint scents of grain. The flavor is organic and tasty earthy but it taste to much like a juiced up pale lager with extra amounts of cheap hops and grain.
3.3 Burnt orange champagne like bubbles. Very piney and Christmas tree like. Has a lot of spruce tip notes. Taste is very west coast pale ale. Sort of an overpowering maltiness bit An intense bitter resinous mouthfeel. Lingers for hours
3.5 Bottle. Pours clear dark gold with a medium, frothy white head, medium retention with good lacing. Aroma is perfume hops, biscuit and cereal malt with earthy notes. Flavor is moderate hops and bitterness, supporting malt and a dry finish. Medium body and carbonation.
3.0 Very light beer that is clear with a white lace head. This is very easily drank but is not significantly distinguished from similar style beers
3.0 Very pale appearance with a white foamy head. Low hop presence, however a strong citrus and fruity flavour. An excellent representation of the golden style. Very refreshing for a warm day. Light bodied and low carbonation allows many to be consumed .
3.9 Fruity and floral. Some orange and apricot. Medium bodied, light appearance, and crisp.
3.0 Draft. Poured clear golden color with an average white frothy head that mostly lasted with good lacing. Moderate balanced aroma. Medium body with a smooth texture and soft carbonation. Medium balanced sweet flavor with a medium sweet finish of moderate duration. Soft drinkable brew.
3.0 (bottle) pale gold, small white head. Not much aroma - hint of sweet malt. straw. Flavor is pale malt, a little straw and citrus.
