1.6 Bottle brought back to UK from Peru by Painy, cheers. Pours golden with an amber edge and a small short lasting just off-white head. Aroma of grain and grass. Heavy sweetness, light bitterness. Light body, watery and slightly oily texture, average carbonation.
1.5 From bottle. Transfer of an earlier rating without text recorded, rating only.
2.1 Bottle in Chancay Baños, Peru. Normal kind of lager, nothing special but ok after a long bus ride
2.3 Clear golden with little white head. Aroma is sweet grains some lemon also rice and straw. Taste is sweet grains and less tart hops. Watery and sweet. Awkward and bad.
2.4 Bottle at Kvilletorgets Saluhall cons 2017-04-29 Göteborg AR: cardboard box, cornjuice AP: coppery, white head F: cornsyrup, dry dust, cardboard box
2.7 From old tasting notes. Medium gold color with a slightly cloudy appearance. Tart malt aroma with a hint of hops. Some sweet malt notes in middle. Highly carbonated. Grainy bitter finish.
2.3 Can in Lima. Small foam, light clear gold. Balanced, sweet macro lager nose. Fairly sweet body, with a bit better balance of flavor than average. Rather drinkable. Bright enough carbonation with a flavorful, sweet base. Rather good for what it is in my opinion. When I was purchasing this can at a supermarket, alongside a number of other Peruvian beers - craft and otherwise - the man in line in front of me expressed interest in the strange bottles. But then told me that he was as curious as I to try them, but that this green one - the Pilsen - would be the best. Well, it ain’t terrible.
2.9 Bottle. Clear golden color, medium sized white head. Smell and taste malts, hay, weak bitterness, low malt bitter finish. Very drinkable on a hot day though, just not very full of flavor (as was expected).
2.4 Fresh 12 oz. can thanks jcwattsrugger for the share! Crystal clear gold, piss color. Aroma is lager yeast, skunky and light corn. Flavor is mostly the same as the aroma. Skunky yeast is not overwhelming. Mostly corn and grain in a light watery body. Not offensive.
2.6 From a can thanks to jcwattsrugger. Yellow pour with white foamy head. Definite malt dough nose with light grassy hops. Smooth and light body. The taste has a malt sweetness with a mild bitter finish.
2.6 12 oz can? Courtesy of jcwattsrugger, Pale yellow with a thin white head. Bready aroma. Flavor follows. Thin bodied.
1.7 12oz bottle pours a clear gold with some clumpy white head. You get the nose from way back and you know it well, metal, lemon, cheap stale malt, trashy. Flavor follows right along, heavy fake lemon, metal, some root veg, a bit of a sour note to it. Spritzy finish. Trashy.
2.2 33cl bottle. Clear golden colour with a nice white head. Hay and malt in the aroma. Average carbonation and light body. Taste is light bitter. Overall, another lager.
2.7 630 ml bottle - Pale appearance, gassy taste and sickly palate. It's not particularly enjoyable cold or at room temp.
3.4 Had in a bottle in Peru...a few times. This beer is readily available in Peru. I am impressed that with all of the offerings I have had that came from a green bottle, none were skunked. Macro lager type beer. Nothing overly complex or interesting, but really refreshing, easy drinking, and pairs well with a beach and ceviche in Paracas.
I drank this beer again during Christmas in Lima. The problem is that my wife is living in Collique, Comas, the craft beers are something that the people don't know and you get all the time the same poor products of backus and johnson and big groups. It is a poor lager, yellow and gold body, average carbonation, thin and white foam. The taste is metalic, a bit rough, a kind of bitterness, dry lager with malt, a bit watery. You don't have pleasure to drink that, no aroma, no complexity, boring. I am fortunately that the Peruvian food is tasty and I hope to go in a couple of days to Miraflores to get some Peruvian craft beers.
Final dulce y oxidado.
2.2 Bottle from Supermarket in Lima. Amber body with okay head. Nose is matly and skunky. Taste is similar of grains and malts and skunkiness. Well-balanced. Pretty good.
1.4 Drinking this from a 630ml bottle in the peruvian jungle now. Its great for killing thirst, its notting spesial, but then again its a pilsner/lager, its meant to be boring. Quite refreshing but notting to write home about. Cheers
2.0 From a 33 cl bottle deep in the Amazon jungle of Peru. Pours a clear hold with a thick white head. Aroma of white bread. Flavors of foamy nothingness.
2.5 Flaska. Klar guldfärgad med stort vitt skum. En högst ordinär lager, som ändå lutar mer åt rätt mängd maltsötma, vilket i min bok alltid uppskattas. Lättdrucken och inte alls oäven.
2.0 Typical adjunct lager, low aroma, low flavor, metallic, no good retention, lot of carbonation, a bad beer, just fine for a very hot day if there are no other options
1.9 Poured a crystal clear amber with a 5mm white foamy head that diminished quickly to a collar. Laced OK. Carbonation moderate and coarse. Aroma subtle of malts and sweet grain. Taste of sweet grain and malt and no obvious bitterness. Light body. Smooth, crisp, refreshing but bland. More a lager than a pilsner.
2.0 Yellow body. Bottle in Amazon jungle. Has a kind of effervescence, but overall pretty dull.
1.0 Oh lord, how to explain this. I lived in Peru until my mid twenties, and have drank this more times than any craft beer of my liking. And this is partly why I am happy not to be there anymore. It is not that craft beer is only so very good. It is. But it is also that it is so much better than this mouthful of urine that it makes you feel like you’ve come a long way. This is urine soda. Avoid at all costs.
1.6 Cerveja bem fraquinha sem aroma e sem amargor. Espuma fraca e nao permanece. Nao volto a tomar
1.9 Cerveja estilo pilsen. Muita parecida com as brasileiras. Dourada clara, espuma bem branca e fraca.
