Sweetish-malty, slightly grassy taste of sweet malts, grains and some straw, followed by a short, slightly bitter, minimally grassy finish. Thin body, slightly effervescent mouthfeel, soft carbonation. Okay, still very bland.

1.7 Bottled 355ml. -Trade with CH-303 (thanks Asbjorn!).Yellow coloured, medium sized white head, dusty pistaccio in the nose. The taste is usual for that part of the World. Corn, water, light cardboard and little hops with short finish.
1.3 Shared with Ogivlado. Just Pilsener so... this I guess. "Lager beer of El Salvador" - such prominence very unique wow! Pale dull yellow/ochre body with a small white head. Aroma somewhere between apple, pistaccio and candy. Strange. Dull, crappy, corky, diluted, stale, flat taste. Would have to think a LOT about reordering this even in smoldering heat. Sweetish, bad, eww. Watery, appley, diluted cider, very very diluted cider-like. Not offensive, not tasty at all. Crap.

1.4 The plane lands in San Salvador airport on the way to Madrid. Everyone gets kicked off and told to hang around for half an hour. We dash to the lounge. I hurriedly get out the Weetabix and try to get Meena to eat one in record time, Lakshmi runs to the bar with instructions to ’find me any local beer and make sure you know what it’s called’. She excels at the task, finding not one but two, and amid the mayhem of a baby feed we gave an impromptu taste test for two of El Savador’s finest - Pilsener and Suprema. This one, Pilsener, was very pale gold, lots of head, and tasted of pretty much nothing. That alone was enough to comfortably win the taste challenge! I guess this sort of product is what puts Americans off pils as a style...
