3.9nice wheat, yeasty, full body, oily, creamy foam, fine smooth aftertaste, grassy
3.4Hazy yellow-golden with a thick white head. Taste is grain with a decent citrus flavour, placing it closer to a Witbier than a Bavarian Weizen.
3.3Draft at the brauhaus 1st February. Cloudy wheat beer reasonable style match
2.6500 ml bottle in Coconut Creek, FL. This did not travel well from Germany. It had some damage and maybe infected. Pours a cloudy gold with a full white head. Aroma was cloves and bananas. Taste was a sour version of the aroma. Palate was a bit harsh. I will have to try this in Germany.
3.4One pint bottle. Pours a cloudy pale gold with a tight, white fluffy head. Nice wheat and lacquer scents. Big malt start with a thin body and a soft finish. Some banana but no spice or bite. A very mild wheat without a lot to it.
3.0500 ml. bottle. Pours a medium, well retained, white head, with minimal lacing, ovr a slightly hazy yellow (SRM 3) body......nose is wheat, mild other malt tones, mild herbal, citrus fruit tones.....taste is wheat, light cereal tones, slight herb and citrus notes with minimal sweet......mouth feel, medium light body, no alcohol, high carbonation. This misses the typical Weissbier style a lot with no appropriate aromas and flavors. At the least a yeast replacement would help.BJCP 7/3/7/4/5
3.024.06.2019 -- 0.5l bottle from rewe hennig in münster, bb 01.2020. a semi-weizen (60% wheat). pours a cloudy sunny yellow with a big steady head. aroma of grains, caramel, lemon, yeast, surprisingly no banana or cloves. flavour of citrus, grass, bread, just a hint of banana in the mouthfeel.
3.0Bottle shared at Al's. Pours a hazy golden color with medium head. Notes are grain, light garden hose, minimal spice and banana which is weird for the style. Not sure what is going on with this but at least its organic and cheap.
2.7hazy pale yellow beer with a nice head. It kiks you in the face on your first sip but that's all. The nice strong taste disapears fast and all what remains is lemon and wet cardboard. Not my favourite Pinkus and not my favourite weizen.
3.2Bottle from Whole Foods in Cupertino. Pours hazy yellow color with thin white foam. Initial skunky European aroma, either from hops or light struck, which faded fast. Yeasty aroma, bordering on autolysis, but still good. Low pH. I wonder from what. Almost lemony. Not bad, because I like Hefeweizens, but as good as others. Maybe needs calcium in water.
2.60,5 liter bottle. Decent weizen, but nothing special. I still prefer the Weihenstephaner.
3.4Very hazy pale, small head. Aroma is wheat, tart, taste is the same, tart bitter nice
2.5Bottle @ home. Very hazy yellow color, full sized white head that diminishes fairly quickly. Smell and taste wheat, sweetish yeasty notes but also a fairly prominent cittussy flavor coming through. Average body and carbonation. Hmm nah, not a fan of this one.
3.2A medium bodied hefe, which I like. Not overly thick but also flavorful not sure steered down.
3.2Bottle at Pakistani Restaurant, Schulterblatt - hazy yellow color, white head. refreshing Weizen, not much of that banana flavour going on here, malty and crisp. nice.
2.2Bottle. A bit too heavy weizen. The beer tastes rather sweet and would be better with some citrus.
3.2Bottle from Whole Foods Market in Redwood City, CA. Aroma is old banana bread with walnuts, and maybe some cloves, spice. Taste is sour? Not bad but wasn’t expecting such a tart wheat vibe from a hefe.
2.8A fruity and quite yeasty aroma, a little bit sweet.
The head is small, white and fizzy, it disappears fast. The body is cloudy and light yellow. A yeasty and light sour taste, later also a little bit sweeter. The body is light and fizzy with a lively carbonation.
3.1Sampled from tap at the brewpub. Hazy, straw yellow with a white head. Sweetish, slightly yeasty-spicy and a little fruity aroma of wheat, some banana and hints of clove. Moderately sweet, slightly yeasty-spicy and a bit fruity taste of wheat, some banana, light clove and traces of citrus, followed by a short, mildly bitter, minimally tart and moderately yeasty-spicy finish. Almost medium-bodied, smooth and slightly effervescent mouthfeel, soft carbonation. Okay!
3.0Average hefeweizen. Not great not bad. Get a lot of beer though for a decent price.
2.4Bottle. Pours a hazy golden color with minimal white head. Really off-putting grain aroma. Slightly sweet but mostly boring. Thin bodied with no finish whatsoever. Disappointing.
2.9Flasche gekauft im Bioladen
Trübes gelb, angemessener Schaum
Aroma: Zitrone, Banane, Hefe, etwas Getreide
Geschmack: säuerlich, etwas Ananas, Apfel, Nelke
Insgesamt etwas dünn
3.2DATE: August 26, 2017... OCCASION: another beautiful afternoon deserves a beer that says summer... GLASSWARE: Weihenstephan weizen... pours a dense, murky, carbonated lemon-yellow body (that oddly almost matches its label’s color)... four fingers of white froth sits thick as wet snow, with pockets of air trapped between the glass and the beer... banana and clove immediately, some noble hops that ping in a metallic remark, buttery biscuit, old vegetable, and sour dough... not the aroma I expected from a brewery at its craft since 1816--more like a draw... the mouthfeel is aided by its bright introduction, a creamy middle, and its hearty, lingering finish--tart, acidic, and reasonably substantial for a weizen... clove, banana, pear, and biscuit serve a fruity meal in and of itself... the earthy, almost dank vegetable couples with dish detergent lemon to counter the initial flavor profile... the result? A beer I find complimentary to the day, but in need of more pronounced, better balanced ingredients... refreshes, stays around, and treats you with a modicum of respect... maybe a victim of expectation? at $2.99 a 500ml bottle, not quite worth the return....
