3.5 Bought a bottle at the liqor store in Leerdam. The beer has a golden color with a large white head and has is perfectly carbonated. In the aroma tones malts, yeast, bananas and some fruits. In the taste sweet fruits and malts. A lot of bananas and is also a little alcoholic. The finish long and heavy with a light bitter. A pretty standard strong ale. I like the idea, but it’s a little too alcoholic.

3.3 330 ml bottle. Pours gold with big head. Aromas of toasted malts and light banana. Flavours of citrus, sharp resin, spice and grass.

3.3 Bottle - Sweet Belgium yeast and apricot. Cloudy gold and a rich white head. A little over carbonated, sweet yeast and booze. Brown sugar anda bit too sweet for my taste.

3.2 Poured a hazy light amber colour with a thin long-lasting white head and lots of carbonation. It was like pouring a glass of sparkling water. The aroma is dry crisp and very yeasty. The flavour is medium bitter with a huge yeasty resinous palate. It was a fine beer and there was a time when I really would have enjoyed this, but I think it’s a style that I have simply grown out of.

3.7 Nice, light yellow beer, with a foamy white head. Sweet aroma with the touch of alcohol. It tastes bitter for quite a moment, but slightly after that it becomes sweet quickly after that. It has a slightly bitter aftertaste and a dry palate. Mooi, lichtgelig bier, en met een mooie witte kop. Zoet aroma met toetsen van alcohol. De smaak is heel even bitter, maar vervolgens zoetig en vol De nasmaak is lichtjes bitter en de afdronk droog.

4.2 Dark yellow with a high white head. For me, the foam spewed right out after opening the bottle! Taste is bitter sweet with strong hops, and starts very hot alcoholic. Overall an unusual belgian beer, I recommend it.

2.9 33 cl. bottle @ home, bought @ Hogerdijk, Culemborg. Golden with a big white head. Fruity sweet aroma with some citrus. Alcohol sweetness and sharpness are at first noticable but after that more subtle flavours rise to the surface. Yeasty hopbitter aftertaste. Not bad but not as good as Duvel

3.0 33cl bottle at BXL East. Pours clear golden color with foamy white head. Aroma and taste is sweet, a bit malty and spicy. Decent.

3.3 I think the government liquor store carries this because they’ve heard somewhere that Piraat is good and don’t know they’re getting the wrong one. My friend said this tasted like glue, I think she’s crazy, it’s pretty good, nice "round" ale flavour with lots of alcohol that goes well with the style haha. Nice spicy ester/phenol taste, fun to belch afterwards. That’s what sticks with you, the belching. So yeah, spicy alcohol.

3.9 gouden heldere kleur met mooie dunne witte kraag, aroma van gist, behoorlijke citroen en zoetigheid overheersen. fluwelig zacht van smaak, citrus, koriander, peper, licht zurig en zoet, bijna geen bitterheid met stevige alcoholsmaak, afdronk is fris, droog, kruidig, licht zoet en licht zuur de 9% alcohol is redelijk verborgen, goed bier !

3.3 33cl. Bottle. Poors haze yellow with white head. Aroma citrus, yeast, malts. Taste sweet, bit sour, alcohol, some bitters. Mouth-feel thin. Strong blond maybe bit to much noticeable alcohol.

3.7 Pours a light golden colour with a small white head. Yeast, citrus and alcohol on the nose. Tastes of the yeast and malts, and is slightly sweet. But the taste doesn’t hide the alcohol well. Short alcoholic finish.

3.0 Bottle provided by Frode. Tasted in Leiden. Pours hazy golden with a small frothy white head. Aroma is typical belgian, yeast and citrus. Taste is citrussy sweetness,some light alcohol burn at the end.

3.8 In the front a bit sweetness, maybe some fruit. In the aftertaste alcohol and a tiny bit of bread (yeast). Big head with big bubbles that disappears quickly leaving a thin layer of foam. A golden beer, very lively carbonation with a nice creamy feel. Medium sweet and a touch of bitterness.

2.6 Bijzonder zachte smaak, weinig bitter, sinaasappel, pruim, prikkelend door rijke koolzuur. Aroma is fruitig met wat muf zuur (kelder). Kraag blijft fijn.

3.3 clear and golden colour, frothy head. floral aroma with a hint of lemon & cake. fast brew, quick flavour profile, has a certain metallic quality to it. i’m not complaining but it isn’t a show stopper.

3.9 From back log, old bottle someone found in his cellar and gave to me Head: White, quite large for an older bottle Colour: deep gold, bit hazy , yellowy Smell: start is a bit sweet and yeasty but males place for a well balanced favour of bitter , sweet and still a bit of hops, end is still a bit dry with a nice longlasting palate , veyr good !

3.1 330ml bottle. Pours a very light golden colour with white head that doesn’t last too long. Grainy nose with a sweet, fruity edge. Fairly one dimensional. Tastes like a bouquet of flowers with spices sprinkled over it. There’s a nice fruity edge to it as well.

3.8 12 oz bottle pours yellow with a white head. Aroma is of bananas, yeast and spice. Taste is sweet with a bitter hop finish.

3.1 Bottle. Clear golden colour, pours a huge head when served in a Duvel glass. Head faints quickly, bready aroma, some sweet alcoholic aroma detected. Also some ripe, light fruits like pear and apple. Flavour is heavy sweetness by alcohol, little vanilla. Good carbonated.
