Pizza Port Shark Bite Red Ale

Pizza Port Shark Bite Red Ale

Our Signature beer. Brewed to the same recipe in all locations. A very robust Red ale made with Centennial and Cascade hops which lend a spicy finish to the beer. We have brewed more Sharkbite Red ale than any other beer on our menu. Alcohol Varies.

4.3 Can @ home. Clear amber color, medium sized a bit rough white to off-white head. Aroma is malts, hops, resinous hops. Taste malts, again resinous and piney hops, nice hop bitter, grapefruit lightly and a nice suitable bitter finish. Medium body and decent to medium carbonation. Just my kind of beer, I like this!
3.9 ABV: 6.0%; clear reddish amber colour, large, dense beige-ish head; aroma of pine resin, toasted rye bread with marmalade, some grapefruit and caramel; taste of resiny and orange zest bitterness, roasted bread (and some slight nuts), marmalade and minimal sourish notes; good amber ale

3.8 Dark amber /reddish with medium beige head. Slight malty aroma. Strong bitterness with some sourness and malt and bread notes. Lasting bitter aftertaste.
2.5 Not a great red ale. Quite bitter with no maltiness that you expect with a red. Not a whole lot of taste other than the bitterness. (K)
4.0 16oz can (30th anniversary logo on it). 6% abv. Amber red colour, fine haze, a big and thick tan head on top. Nose has caramel malt and piney hops. Taste - caramel, toasty and lightly nutty, pine hops and a nice hoppy finish with good bitterness. A classic US amber ale.
3.2 Draft at Barney's Beanery Santa Monica. Deep ruby with a large beige head. Very dry and hoppy. Not usually a massive fan of red ales but this is decent
3.9 draught@Bierkeller Au Trappiste - hazy dark red-amber beer with a solid beige foam left; aroma of watermelon with hints of spices; moderate carbonation and body; clean and rounded palate, light sweet; aftertaste of caramel, earth and watermelon - well-balanced
3.3 A deep chestnutty red. All in all it’s a well rounded ale. Pleasant touches of malty sweetness amid nutty, toasty flavor. There is a hefty bitterness which lingers in the finish too. This is some good stuff.
3.1 16 oz can. Canned 01/24/17. Thanks Timo A! Clear amber color with a small off-white head. Cookies, caramel and sweet hops in the aroma. The flavor is hops, caramel malt, bitterness and some metal. Boring.
3.2 Can. Pours amber with an off white head. Light sweet malts, some toast, earthy hops, mild fruity notes, and a lightly bitter finish. Not bad.
3.4 Reddish colour with thin head. Aroma and flavour have plenty of caramel malts and floral but very bitter hop.
3.4 Poured from a can. Reddish brown color. Very large beige head. Lots of lacing. Sweet toffee aroma. Roasted malt taste with a bitter finish.
4.0 Draft. Hoppy and fresh and bitter, with lots of different fruit notes and a slightly dry finish that’s also just a touch peppery. Rarely is a mainstay offering so interesting and good.
3.7 Pours a couple fingers of head on a clear dark amber body. Aroma is pine, more pine, grapefruit and pine needles. Taste is bold grapefruit and pine bitterness, mild spicy finish. Texture is fairly smooth. It’s a bold red red and enjoyable.
3.2 Pour is a dark red with a large white head. Aroma is some oily caramel malt with a minor pine hop. Flavor is rich malt which is rather dry. I also get some bitterness with a slight toffee. A decent hoppy amber ale. One of those beers that 25 years ago would have been groundbreaking but now it’s just pleasant but no frills type of beer.
3.5 16 oz can from bhensonb. Pours reddish brown with a huge beige head and a roasty toffee aroma. There is a medium-bodied roasted malt flavor with a fairly bitter finish.
3.4 Amber with an off white head - Good malt aroma - Good malt body with some caramel notes and hints of roasted malt - The caramel malt and hints of roast goes into the finish - This was nice
3.6 (Draught at Man in the Moon, Stockholm, 28 June 2016) Reddish amber colour with frothy, beige head. Malty, fruity nose with red fruit, pomegranate, orange peel and pink grapefruit. Malty, fruity taste with notes of red fruit, caramel, pomegranate and a balanced citric bitterness in the finish. Medium body, with a touch of sweetness. Tasty and well balanced. Nice one.
