Pizza Port OB’s house IPA. This ale is made year round for all the hop heads out there. This beer has a mixture of Simcoe and Chinook hops that give it its hoppy flavor and aroma.

5.0Classic IPA with a golden pour and a dank aromas & flavors
3.6Sampled from the tap at the OB location. Pours a clear straw yellow with a white head that dissipates to the edges. Aroma has slightly earthy citrus with some flora and a light grain backbone. Flavor has a combination of resin, pine and citrus with a sweet grain backbone.
3.4Draft. Pours golden orange with a white head. Citric hops and lightly sweet malts, mild-moderate bitterness, grapefruit pith, and a mild hoppy finish. Not bad.
3.8Tap in OB. Pours clear gold. Aroma is citrus, pine, toast, light breadiness, some grassiness, and faint floral notes. Flavor is sharp citrus and pine hop flavors, moderate bitterness, faint sweetness, and a dry toasted finish. Medium body.
3.7On tap at Pizza Port Ocean Beach. A bit hazy golden with a white head. Aroma of hops, grapefruit, light hay and some hints of resin. Similar taste. The body was medium and the finish bitter.
3.9On tap at California Craft Beer Summit. Pours cloudy gold with a thick white head and a citrus aroma. There is a hearty pale malt flavor with a very bitter finish. Nicely hopped if you are a high IBU fan.
3.7Tap@Himmeriget, Copenhagen - golden orange pour with white head. Fruity and malty with some great hits of mango, tangerine, solid hoppy, light herbal, hop resin, pine needles, bitter hoppy finish, lovely.
3.5Flight at Pizza Port Bressi Ranch, 21.4.16. Clear yellow-gold. Guava, papaya and a little mango aroma, bitter taste with both pine and tropical fruit notes. Bitter, dry finish, like nettle. Medium body.
3.8From tap at Sour & Bitter #3, Copenhagen. Clear golden color with white head. Malty and hoppy aroma, bready, caramel, grassy, piney, citrusy, grapefruit. sweet and bitter. Medium oily body with soft carbonation.
3.6Tap sour and bitter. Pours hazy golden with a white head. Aroma of pine, grape, tropical, malty, pizza port house flavour, resin. Taste is rather bitter with a sweet touch. Rather dry.
3.9On draft and a growler fill from the Pizza Port Bressi Ranch location. Straw yellow, good carbonation. Nose of simcoe, apricot, grapefruit. Flavor is dry, lean and crisp floral hop. Really easy to drink. Could use even a higher IBU with as crisp as it is. Very nice. A good staple drink on visits to the Port.
4.0Clear golden of color with a white head. An aroma of pines, hops, resin and fresh. A flavor of hops, pines, citrus, fresh and oily.
3.9Taster. Pale yellow with white head. Dank and musty nose. Pine and citrus rind. Dry bitter finish...
4.0My Bottom Line:
This crisp and citrusy IPA is supported by suave honeyed malts, a refreshing profile balanced out by piney hop resins and their bitterness.
Further Personal Perceptions:
-A veil of foam laces all around the shiny golden.
-The flavor profile and aroma on this one are textbook American IPA. Not exactly memorable, but extremely pleasant and efficient when looking for this type of brew.
-Carbonation is rather prickly, which increases drinkability.
-Hop fruitiness is nicely juicy and aromatic.
On tap at the brewpub.
3.5On tap at ocean beach, golden with white foam, big dank nose with similar flavors, big bite of hops, bitter finish
3.9On tap at PP Ocean Beach. It pours a clear golden color with a white head. Nice. The aroma is potent with citrus, berries and grapefruit. Sweet hoppy goodness. The flavor is the same. Huge grapefruit flavor with some tropical fruit and hints of pine. Medium to strong bitterness. Very clean with a spicy hop finish. Awesome.
3.9the jetty is a nice stanky ipa. not as fruit and citrus forward but dank and stanky with light er citrus and pine. yet another hit.
3.8Pale, clear, nice foam. Not too much of it though. Aroma is sweet, has some tropical fruits but still subdued. Taste is nicely fruity and hoppy, overly ripened mango dominating it - and I like that. Nice long clean bitter-resiny aftertaste. Good stuff!
3.7Bready malty nose with nice citrus overtones. Medium body. Well balanced. Juice citrus notes. Aggressively hopped finish. Very west coast IPA but balanced and enjoyable.
3.6Another one of the 3.6 hoppy beers by pizza port. Just piney, lightly grapefruit, some cat piss, and weed. Light and a bit boring but fine.
3.7draft, the same IPA again that is all over San Diego, very tasty and great hop flavors. I was a big fan of this for sure.
3.8On tap at Pizza Port OB. Pours a slightly hazy yellow with a thin white head. Aroma is citrus mainly grapefruit and some pine resin really clean and smooth. Nice beer.
3.8Golden-orange colored body, medium sized white head and soapy lacing. Assertive pine, citrus rind, light crackery malt, and a touch of resin. Medium bodied, moderate carbonation, assertive bitterness, semi-dry throughout.
3.7Beer Bloggers Conference - San Diego - Nice easy drinking IPA. Good hops forward flavor and aroma.
3.2Light golden with a nice white foam. Piney aroma. Big hop resin flavor. Orange peels with pine cones meet candy corn? Bitterness is very drying and the hop flavors continue their assault well after. Not one I would want a session with but interesting to meet.
3.5On tap at Toronado SD. Light yellow yet big orange flavour, very hoppy and drinkable.
3.5Draft at brewery. The pour is golden. The aroma is citrus hops all the way. Very easy to drink ipa. Refreshing and nice hop flavors.
3.6Appearance was orangish gold with diminishing creamy white 1 finger head, spotty lacing. Aromas are earthy pine needles, grapefruit and lemon, slight sweet pale malts. Taste are grapefruit, lemon and pine with sticky resin and clean malt bill for the hops to shine. Palate was smooth creamy soft CO2 wih meduim body, lasting piney citrusy finish. A solid American IPA.
3.8On tap at Pizza Port Ocean Beach, pours a hazy pale golden with a small white head. Aroma of piney hops, citrus and light crackery malt. Flavour is very dry, full of piney and floral hops, and balanced by dry crackery malt. Very highly drinkable and thirst-quenching, with no residual sugars. Great stuff.
4.0Poured up on tap at the Pizza Port Ocean Beach Location. It has a clear gold body that supports a white head of foam and leaves behind some sheet lacing. The aroma delivers plenty of citrusy hop goodness where I can smell the bitter hop side of it murmuring up now and then. Also in there is a mild yet rich deep degree of citrus hop extract too. Cool but too bad it is served in an aroma killing tumbler glass. The taste starts with a rich mix of sweet malts and grapefruit to tangelo to orange citrus hops. To midway and into the finish it gets fully resiny and leans toward a slight astringent hop bitterness that in no way detracts from the experience. This is a yummy rich full up hoppy treat that is really hitting the spot right now.
