Liknande I smak.
Torr komplex avslutning.
4.4 04-04-2021; bottle; at home (bought at Saveur Bière). The looks of the beer is very nice. The beer has a nice colour, a kind of dark amber. It has an orange reddish glow. The beer is quite cloudy. On top there is a nice layer of grayish brown foam. Foam retention is average and a nice thin drape is left on the beer. Very nice. The aroma of the beer is very nice. Rich and full. The malt give some nice aromas of of roast and toast. The is some chocolate and a touch of coffee on the far back. The barley also has a rich grainy note. Hops are herbal. The bourbon is clearly present. It gives armras of vanilla, corn syrup, oak, some burnt wood. It is very pure and a great addition to the Barley Wine aromas. Very pure aromas, making it a very rich bouquet. Lovely. The taste of the beer is also very nice. Bitter hops, sweet malts, sweet alcohol, nice slight savory touch of roast. Well balanced. The palate of the beer is nice. Full body, smooth texture and medium carbonation. The finish is filled with alcohol warmth, rich barley aromas and Bourbon and oak aromas. Amazing beer indeed.
4.3 Bottle at home in Hackney - big thanks to Beau for getting for me from Mother Kelly’s BG. Pours lightly unclear brown with a dense, cascading khaki-yellow foam head. Delicious beer, rich, decadent caramel, some earthy bitterness, vanilla, toasted wood, booze, toffee, dried berries, dates. Full bodied, oily and chewy, with fine carbonation. Warming finish, a little sticky, more semi-dark fruits, toffee, vanilla, with a decent hit of balancing bitterness. Really big and damn tasty.
4.0 330ml bottle. Dark brown with a light haze, a small beige head. Aroma of bourbon, caramel, toffee. Taste is malty, plenty of bourbon, toffee, caramel, raisins, a lot of oak coming through at the end, almost bitter, very warming, some booze.
3.6 Bottle. Small head with good duration. Color is brown. Aroma and taste are rich malt, some bourbon, caramel, little candy sugar and notes of hops. Swet and warming finish.
3.6 330ml bottle. Darkest brown. Off-white head. Aroma of chocolate, fig, cola, bourbon. Taste is sweet, balanced, earthy. Nice complex porter.
3.9 Bottle 33cl, a amber brown beer with low head. Nose is intense on blond caramel, barrel and oak, vanilla, toasted malt, notes of alcohol too. Taste is quite sweet but ok, aroma still on caramel, toasted malt, nutty, robust beer, not that easy to cdrink, good anyway.
3.8 Bottle from A Hoppy Place, Windsor. Aroma had the dark fruits, dough and almonds I'd expect from a barley wine, alongside chocolate and a big boozy streak. Dark muddy brown. Microbubble foamy light beige head. Medium bitter booziness. Dark chocolate. Underlying sweet edged fruit cake and almonds. Roasty hints. Medium bodied. Creamy. Average carbonation. Long astringent finish. The bourbon really takes centre stage with the barley wine aspects taking a supporting role. Warming and boozy but with underlying fruit cake. It's certainly warming me up.
3.9 Very malty,and very long aftertaste.very heavy body.very slow to drink.very nice.
4.2 Deep brown color with foamy tan head. Sweet aroma with dried fruits, vanilla, bourbon. Taste is malty with toffee, caramel, pleasant bourbon, warming alcohol. Full body, light carbonation. Rich yet smooth to drink. Excellent
4.5 Pours a deep mahogany coloration with a small, fizzy head. Smells absolutely wonderfully of rich caramel malt. toffee and butterscotch, as well as lighter vanilla and bourbon-soaked oak, with just a hint of walnut. Taste is a perfect balance of quite rich caramel malt, toffee, butterscotch and much lighter, slightly bitter and resinous hops, as well as some vanilla, bourbon-soaked oak and hints of red berries and walnut. Finishes bittersweet, with a medium sweetness and some butterscotch, vanilla and oak lingering in the aftertaste. Full, sticky mouthfeel with a very rich body and light carbonation. With its rather sweet, but also slightly bitter flavor profile, this seems to sit somewhere inbetween an English and American Barleywine and even though the English side is clearly dominant, I personally really love those bitter, resinous accents preventing this from becoming cloyingly sweet and clearly making it the best English Barleywine for my palate that I have ever had. There's also a very rich and warming Bourbon presence in the finish that never becomes too boozy though. Overall, a marvellously rich and superbly balanced Barleywine that's incredibly full-bodied, with a sticky mouthfeel that coats your tongue and an absolutely intoxicating aroma of toffee and butterscotch that continues on the tongue.
3.7 Aroma of red fruits, caramel, vanilla, almonds, cherries, chocolate. Extremaly intensive and thick. Taste of caramel, red fruits, vanilla, chocolate, cherries. Medium carbonation. Alcoholic. Solid one.
3.8 Bottle sample at a tasting. Hazy bronze-amber with beige head. The aroma has notes of bourbon, coconut, wood, vanilla, alcohol, toffee. The flavor is sweet and mild bitter with lots of alcohol, toffee, caramel, wood, coconut, vanilla, bourbon. Full-bodied.
4.4 Bottle at home, must be 5 years old, 1st November 2020. Pours a dark chestnut brown. Aroma is dark fruit, apricot stone, vanilla, marzipan in chocolate and liquor. Taste is apricot and marzipan liquor dark chocolate, booze, wood, soaked fruit, lots of complexity and a fantastic barley wine

4.3 Bottle picked up from somewhere (forgot where) and consumed at home Friday 2nd October 2020, listening to Iggy Pop on 6Music had a great Chicken Curry with homemade Nan. A wonderful BBA barley wine, simply marvellous stuff, smooth, a little boozy but warming, nice bourbon notes. Taste is a myriad of flavours that I can't begin or be bothered to explain, just drink (sip) and enjoy.
4.4 Bottle at Las Buenas Pulgas, served in a snifter glass. Dark amber color, small beige head with medium retention that fades to a ring around the glass. Small compact lacing. Aroma of caramel, brown sugar, dried fruits, bourbon, vanilla, some chocolate and wood. Full body, creamy and sticky texture, good carbonation. Sweet finish. You can feel the alcohol, but not that much. Taste follows the aroma. Impressive.
4.0 Look: Pours slightly cloudy, coke brown with a instantly gone head. Nose: Dark fruit, Prunes, brown sugar, vailla. Taste: Mouthfilling oak, sweet burned sugar, vanilla, slight bitterness in the end, you can feel the alcohol but its not bad. 3.9 Iz MAS Plenuma Rijeka. Slatkasta , suhovoćna , karamelasta i Bourbon aroma..
4.1 Bottle at 14% massive thanks to my bro. It pours hazy deep rich brown with a decent beige head. The aroma is bitter - sweet, rich and oily, unctuous, toasted coconut, vanilla, fresh bourbon, dried fruits, fruit cake, marzipan almost, light spice and oak. The taste is slick, rich and oily upfront, bitter - sweet, toasted coconut, fresh bourbon, oak, rich woody character, light tannin, spice, toffee, toasty malts, toothy and moreish and a splash of boozy warmth through the finish. Fulsome body, fine carbonation and oily mouth feel.ntich and moreish. Lovely fresh bourbon character. Really nice.
4.1 Pours murky ruby with a frothy white head. Nose is sweet and bourbon-forward. Esters and brown sugar. Not too complex but enjoyable. Palate is incredibly full. Taste is general barley wine marzipan, cinnamon, pleasant hops and lots of oak. Bitter, fruity hoppy finish.
