4.3Pours dark chocolately black, very dark ruby reflections. Smells like olive oil and chocolate (after cellaring it for 3 years), prunes, caramel, molasses. Taste is toasty chocolate, nutty, prunes, cherries, oily feel and excellent long cognac mouthfeel.
3.9330ml bottle from BeerMerchants, bottled 22/06/2021, bb 22/06/2024
Black, brown head recedes to a ring, no lacing.
Nose - prunes, chocolate cherry, cognac.
Taste - as nose.
Thick, oily. A bit too much carbonation.
4.0Bottle at home, cellared this one for two years. Pours black with a tan head. Nose is chocolate, light roast, molasses, dried fruits, vineous notes and tannins, some oxidization shows as well. Taste is sweetish, but only moderately so, showing dried fruits, molasses, chocolate, dark sugars, stone fruits and grapes. Similarly to the aroma the oxidization starts to show here as well. Medium to full bodied with soft carbonation. Initially it felt a bit underwhelming but with time it opened up nicely.
4.3TICK #1000 for 2022!!!! I’m the 41st RBer to hit this milestone this year. Bottle from Tavour. Darkest brown with a lasting tan head. Aroma is cognac, roast, dark chocolate, coffee, cherry. Rich deep chocolate cherry gnac flavor, medium sweet light bitter, even a little pineapple. Full bodied but lively carb. Very nice
3.9Bottle. Black colour, small beige head. Aroma of chocolate, burned cake, licorice, some plum, dark fruits. Taste is medium to heavy sweet, medium- bitter, dark chocolate, plum, dark fruits, burned cake, licorice, cognac, light wood. Body is close to full, texture is oily, carbonation is average. Sweet and roasted finish with notes of chocolate. Very interesting, great beer, but not better than regular version.
3.9Shockingly light and drinkable while being super complex and robust. The cognac is mild, but wonderfully present. Albert hhein ams
4.1330ml bottle. Pours black with a tan head. Aroma of dark fruits, raisin, molasses, caramel. Taste is rich, sweet, lots of dark/dried fruits, raisin, caramel, molasses, liquorice, light roast and chocolate malts, brown sugar, quite oaky, nice cognac notes, finish is boozy. Medium bodied, it's rather fizzy/over carbed… ruins the smoothness, but can’t fault the rest of the beer.
3.8Bottle. A big beige head forms over an unclear dark brown body. The aroma is lightly boozy, with hints of oak. Roasted malts, dark dried fruit, toffee and some licorice. It's full bodied and warming on the palate, sweet, with licorice hints, toffee, chocolate, bread notes, some coffee and a herbal hint. Lasting boozy and sweet finish. Delicious indeed. 220624
3.9Bottle 33 cl, poured into a Trappist glass. Pours very dark reddish brown with a tiny beige head and an aroma of coconuts, brown sugar, maple syrup, cognac, cigars, plums, figs, cherries, cocoa, cognac, toffee, leather and rasins. The taste is heavy sweet with a full body, soft carbonation and a long lasting complex finish
4.6Bottle from Jack's in Rochester. Estonia beer. Dark brown with a large off white head. Complex nose of molasses, brown sugar, tobacco, licorice, dark fruit. Cognac sweetness. Really nice sipping beer. Super complex. Impressive beer. This is excellent!
3.7Bottle at home. Three year old bottle. Has a very dark brown to black colour with a small beige head. Aroma of rye bread, tobacco, soy sauce, dark chocolate, coffee, walnuts and cognac. Flavour of liqour, ash, roasted coffe beans, dark chocolate and licorice. Has a silky mouth feel, full-bodied and a medium bitterness. Complex and rich. The flavour is a little unbalanced with the cognac dominating a bit.
4.7Bottle shared. Black with a dense Brown head. Aroma: Dark chocolate, oak, toasted malt, dark fruit and coffee. Taste: Bittersweet with a long slightly Sweet aftertaste. Thick oily mouthfeel. Just great
4.0De Labirratorium. En copa Teku. Jugando a Fornite.
4.0A yummy baltic porter as expected from this brand. Very strong and full in every aspect. Tastes like cherry chocolate. Sour from the barrel. Very good but I liked it better without cognac.
4.1Ordered online from the LCBO, this one was my gift to my Saguenay home town friends, part of our annual Guiliness tasting, taken during D&D, celebrating the return of Dolbak. Quite smooth, no bitterness, rich, with a faint touch of sweet liquor. Went down too fast.
Heel goed bier.
4.0Dimanche 28 novembre 2021. Bouteille de 33cL. 11.5%. Achat ("V and B", Bressuire (79), FR). A Naintré. Super.
4.2Botella de 33 cl. Fecha de consumo preferente 08/03/2022. Color negro con ligera carbonatación y escasa espuma. Aroma a madera, cognac, cerezas, uvas pasas, chocolate, ciruelas. Sabor a café, chocolate, toffe, cognac, cerezas, higos, uvas pasas. Cuerpo medio alto, perfil dulce, gran equilibrio, cálida, alcohol presente pero sin molestar, deliciosa, fantástica baltic porter.
4.0czarne, zapach ciemnych słodów, skórka od chleba, suszone owoce . W smaku głębia goryczka zbalansowana. Dobry porterek
4.333 cl. bottle @ home, bought @ Plus, Culemborg.
Dark brown with a small dense beige head. Dark caramel, raisin, fig and plum aroma. Sweet taste with a smooth warming long lasting finish. Great sipper to spend an hour with.
4.7It pours dark brown with a brown head. It has moderately low head retention. It has aromas of chocolate, plums, and raisins. The dark fruits are very aromatic. There are also some dark cherries and hints of cognac. There is also a hint of licorice. The taste has toffee, chocolate, and coffee flavors. There are notes of cognac and dark fruits with a bit of dark cherries. The dark fruits are not as pronounced in the flavor as in the aromas, but are still noticeable. It has strong alcohol presence with pleasant alcohol warming. It has a full body. Overall, an excellent beer with plenty of malt flavors and fruity esters.
3.9Aromas of espresso cappuccino coffee oak cognac and roasted malts. Taste is smooth espresso cappuccino cocoa nibs chocolate roasted malts oak toasted oats aged wort syrup and cognac barrel wood. Overall, really good stuff.
4.3Black colored beer with a small beige head, low carbonation.
Taste is sweet and later some acid/wood, coffee, dark chocolade, nutty. Love it!
4.333cl bottle from hopt.it. Pours pitch black, with fine brown foam. Aroma is intense of coffee, dark chocolate, figs, molasses, nutty. Body is fairly dense, with low carbonation. Taste is markedly sweet, with a bit of acidity and some hidden bitterness.
