Põhjala Cellar Series - Taara Avita!

Põhjala Cellar Series - Taara Avita!

A multi-layered stout aged for 6 months in rum barrels from the island of Martinique.
The beer is named with the ancient Estonian war cry that was used when attacking the enemy. You might want to pronounce it something like Tah-rah ah-vee-tah! and it means ’May Thor help us!’

A Problem?? No Way!!! Hier wird geklotzt und nicht gekleckert😍...Fass&Schnaps!!! Gott erhalts!!! Schwerwiegend!!! In vielerlei Hinsicht 🙂.0,33 Buddel from BEYOND BEER HH.Ca.8€. Marzipanlakritzattack..aaahhhh...✨ .
3.3 Bottle. Creamy lightbrown good mostly lasting head. Black colour. Moderate malty and hoppy aroma. Heavy bitter flavor. Rumbarrel too present. Long moderate bitter finish. Creamy palate. Intense flavor. but a Little too much rum for me.
3.5 The aroma is full of chocolate, coffee, caramel, vanilla, smoke, oak and dried fruits. The color is pitch black and there is no head. The taste is full of chocolate, coffee, caramel, vanilla, smoke, oak, dried fruits, cane sugar, rum and charred oak. A nice beer! More breweries should age their stouts on rum barrels, it’s just better than bourbon barrels.

3.6 Dunkler und schwerer, etwas alkoholischer Antrunk. Cremig, etwas Vanille, zurückhaltende Noten von Rum. Süffig, angenehme milde Süße. Die Malznoten bleiben cremig, steigend holzig, Bitterschokolade. Weich. 8/12/11/12/11/12
3.8 Bottle (thanks martjoobolut). Pitch black with moderate, light brown head. Good head retention and moderate lacing. Aroma is light heavy malty - roasted, coffee, dark chocolate, molasses, candy-like. Definitely moderate to high rum notes. Somewhere behind nice light to moderate dark fruits accents (prunes, raisins) with some oaky and woody accents. Taste is moderately to heavy sweet and light to moderately bitter - long duration, stable. Medium to full body, smooth and thick texture, soft carbonation. Finish is candy, semi-sweet, roasted, chocolate, rum. ABV is slightly warming an pinching in the end. In overall good brew, ABV is well hidden, not very complex, rum notes dominate somehow this beer.
3.4 Apperance; An Opaque dark brown with a small light brown head. Aroma: dark malts, roast, lightly peat, wood, earth, leaves, rum. Taste: dark malts, liquorice, hints of smoke and peat, some herbs, some rum and wood tones, moderately bitter, light to moderate sweet, odd water splash in the finish. IBody seems to be below average and carbonation is also on the softer side.. Feels a bit thin for such big beer.

3.5 Bottle. Black. Roast, laurel, licorice and rhum in the aroma. Malty sweet and sour flavor. Oak, vanilla. Rhum, licorice, lemon. Caramel, roast. Maybe infected, but in a very nice way.
4.3 Aroma: Medium/heavy aroma of malts, caramel, wood, dark fruit, chocolate, mocha, molasses, roasted malts, coffee and spices. Appearance: Opaque black beer with a slight/medium off-white/beige head. Taste/Palate: Starts medium/heavy sweet with malts, caramel, wood, dark fruit, chocolate, mocha and molasses; ends slightly bitter and dry with roasted malts, coffee and spices. Overall: This beer is intense, complex and balanced. That rum really helps the dark fruit and spices shine through the roasted malts. What a great intense and yet mellow flavour, so extremely complex.
