4.2 Pitch black body with a small, bubbly, short-lived, dark brown head. Hardly any lacing. Strong aroma of dark caramel, dark chocolate, brown sugar, and coffee and spicy hints in the back. A whiff of alcohol is also detectable. Complex and strong flavour of dark roasted malt, coffee, sweet fruits, brown sugar, dark caramel. The alcohol is masterly integrated. Quite heavy sweet taste, although it dries up a bit in the rather heavy bitter and very long-lasting finish. Full body, syrupy texture, soft carbonation. A perfectly balanced brew with an exciting mix of dark roasted malt and sweet and succulent fruits. Yet another winner from Estonia! [33 cl bottle, enjoyed 2 years before BB date, from Vinmonopolet Online]
4.2 Aroma: Rich, complex, unusual aroma. Grapes, oranges, chocolate, coffee, berries, figs, peaches, anise, port wine. Appearance: Very dark brown, good beige head. Taste: Ridiculously sweet, but balanced with very nice coffee bitterness. Palate: Medium carbonation, full body. Overall: Very unusual stout, very intriguing ingredients. Could be more pleasant with reduced sweetness and different balance of aromas.
3.9 Black color with mocha head. Aroma has roasted malts, dried fruits and dark chocolate. Taste is also fruity, slightly tart, desserty, sticky, bitter and roasty on the finish. Medium plus body with low carbonation. Intense but the flavors are balanced quite well.
4.5 Black color with tan head, aroma of chocolate, cherry liqueur, dried fruits and caramel, taste is medium sweet/ lightly bitter, heavy body, soft carbonation, very good.
3.8 Bottle. Seems oxidized, maybe from the figs. Soy sauce, cherries. Quite sweet.
4.5 Bottle 0,33L. Very dark, mahagony brown color with a finger of frothy, light brown head. Aroma of chocolate, dried dark fruits, vanilla, anise, but I can't find any blood orange in aroma. Taste is light to medium sweet and syrupy, finish turns to chocolate and dark fruits with some light bitterness. Full body, Tich. Nectar for gods...
3.8 Deep brown color, light brown head. Roasted malt nose, chocolate, alcohol, blood orange, brown sugar, hint of anise, dried fruit. Heavy sweet taste, roasted malt, figs, brown sugar, alcohol, licorice, bitter finish. Full body, soft carbonation, oily texture. 7, 4, 8, 4, 15
2.7 SB Oskarshamn flaska. Svag arom. Svart med grått skum. Söt. Överdrivet söt. Har dom hällt i socker ?
4.6 Black beer. Small head. Aroma is malt, chocolate, fruit, alcohol, melasse, (blood) orange. Taste is the same, star anice hint, sweet, bitter, chocolate bitter dry. Long aftertaste. Very nice
4.1 330ml bottle served in an ordinary glass. Pours a oily deep black color forming a small, thick, creamy beige head with low retention that forms only some spotty lacings in the glass. Nose is very sweet and malty. Strong notes of roasted malts, dark chocolate, vanilla, dry figs, chestnut, coffee beans and grassy hops. Hints of Oreo and orange zest. Sweet upfront taste. Again, strong notes of roasted malts, dark chocolate, vanilla, oak, chestnut, coffee beans, dry figs, orange zest and earth. Great grassy hops bitterness. Great bittersweet balance. Heavy body. Low carbonation. Dark chocolate and coffee in the aftertaste. Good drinkability. Excellent Imperial Stout. Masterpiece.
3.9 Very good roasted notes, cocoa and some spices, black with a good brown head, full body, carbonation is quite soft, taste is more chocolately with good dark fruits notes, anise....a bit sweet but sooo good.
3.6 Bottle 33 cl. Pours an opaque black with a rough, brownish head. Sweet roast, vanilla and dark chocolate in the nose. The body is surprisingly not that super thick, and hadn't I been able to read about the added fruits I honestly wouldn't have guessed them. They've seemingly all simply fermented away leaving just booze and little flavors. But the beer is great, although a bit to the sweet side - even for a sugar head like me. 171218
3.2 Bottle sample at a tasting at troubles' place. Thanks Stas. Black, tan foam. chocolate, caramel, spiciness, fruitiness, licorice, very sweet, caramel, alcohol, full-bodied. A bit over the top and way too sweet.
3.3 At a tasting, thanks, completely opaque black color, smallish quickly dissapearing dark brown head, lots of dried figs, dark bread, chocolate and an ashy whiff, flavor of bittersweet chocolate, chocolate cake, some coffee in the back and whiffs of citrus and ash. Nice but not completely coherent.
4.0 Dark brown to black colored, thick, small non lasting tan head. Aroma is of dark chocolate, some coffee and roasted malt, spicy anise, dried and dark fruity, bit alcohol. Taste is medium to very sweet malt, chocolate and dark cocoa, coffee, some anise, dark and some dried fruits, bit grapes, medium roasty bitterness, alcohol and some warming in finish. Full bodied, soft carbonation, creamy. Excellent! (bottle)
3.8 Bottle - pours black tan head - nose and taste of grape, orange peel, star anise, black licorice, fig and sweet chocolate - full bodied.
4.1 05-11-18 // bottle shared, thanks Peter. Dark black. Brown head. Complex nose. Roasted bitterness nose with some other weird but nice smell. Boozy oily, chocolate. Coffee. Great.
4.0 Butelka. Piana średnioobfita, ciemnobeżowa, drobnopęcherzykowa, powoli opada do obwódki, koronkowanie słabe. Barwa czarna. Aromat intensywny, czekolada, kakao, praliny, rodzynki, figi, śliwka w czekoladzie, nuta anyżu. Goryczka średnia. W smaku czekolada, pomarańcza, lekka nuta winna, kawowa i alkohol. Pełnia średnia plus, nasycenie (niestety) średnie.
4.1 Can. Creamy lightbrown excellent fully lasting head. Black colour. Heavy malty and light hoppy aroma. Some lactose. Heavy bitter nice flavor. Long heavy bitter finish. Creamy palate.
4.1 Black, small creamy light tan head. Malt, bitter chocolate aroma, light licorice notes. Sweet, rich malty flavour. Sweet chocolate, bitter coffee, syrup. Salty licorice finish. Smooth with good, warm, boozy tingle. Lovely.
4.6 Piana drobna szybko redukuje się do kożuszka. W aromacie kakao, szlachetny alkohol. W smaku kakao, kawa, praliny, dodatki na granicy wyczuwalności. Piwo jest słodkie, likierowe, dosyć gęste. Kolejny świetny ris od Põhjali.
3.0 Flaska. Synd. Här fanns förutsättningar för något väldigt bra.
4.2 Bottle 33 cl. Almost black color, noisy very dark brown foam. Aroma: sweet, caramel, wine (fortified red), slightly spicy, citrus, dried fruits (figs&), a bit of chocolate. Strong taste: roasted, sweetness, chocolate, caramel, dried fruit, bitter orange, a little spice, grappa, bitter finish and very warming.
4.5 Czarne, nieprzejrzyste, z niską, ale ładną i trwałą pianą. Aromat ciemne suszone owoce, czekolada, Bardzo intensywnie i złożony aromat, żaden składnik nie dominuje pozostałych. W smaku podobnie. Na fniszu przyjemna goryczka. Wszystko skomponowane niemal idealnie. Wysycenie niskie.
4.3 On tap at Arabella Park. Rich roasty aroma. Sweet dark dried fruit taste, spice, coffee. Super thick. Awesome.
4.4 LCI. Uit de fles geschonken. Heerlijk! Topper!
4.5 purun, dark chocolate, brown sugar honey
3.8 Czarne. Piana niska, ale trwała. W aromacie kakao, suszone owoce, trochę żelaza. W smak podobnie chociaż tych suszonych owoców niezbyt dużo. Gęste i likierowate. Słodycz, kawowość, niskie nagazowanie. Bardzo w porządku.
