4.2 Lukter engelsk lakris, mørk sjokolade og kaffe. Svart med brunt skum. Fyldig. Søt maltig lett bitter smak. Søt lakris, melasse, kaffe, vanilje og mørk sjokolade. Middels lang.
3.8 Bevuta in bottiglia. Imperial porter molto buona. Pohjala è sempre una garanzia.

4.0 Bottle at HopDog. Black body, golden brown low head. Bread and Nutella substitute aroma. Dry medium body, chewy but and chocolate base, a hint cognac in the aroma. Very decadent praline finish, still very drinkable. Terror of a beer.
3.8 W aromacie ciemne pieczywo, opiekana skórka od chleba, czekolada. Barwa czarna piana ok. W smaku pełne, gęste, półwytrawne, kakao słodkie, czerwone owoce. Goryczka niska.
4.1 Aroma is chocolate, dark malts and oak. The flavor is chocolate, vanilla, a hint of cherries, dark malts and an acidic/oak finish.
3.7 Aroma; roasted malts, chocolate, spices, mocca, berries. Look; pale brown fine head on black body. Taste; roasted malts, black chocolate, sweet spices, mocca coffee, liquorice, black fudge, vanilla, nut sauce, and leading to a lingering smooth finish. Feel; good body n soft co². Overall; tasty sipper. [čistený starého nepořádku, lahev, koup@ finském obchodě]
4.0 Deep dark brown coloured body that pours a very oily glow that's almost perfectly opaque, with only a tiny sliver of light coming through the edges when tilted, all with a very thin, barely existant tan and brown head that fades immediately. Aroma of roasted malt, light coffee, bunches of chocolate, some light spices and a good deal of vanilla and brown and caramelised sugars. Medium to Full-bodied; Very strong roasted malt and coffee flavours at first with some vanilla, deep canella, allspice and especially anise flavours along with a dash of chocolate and more assertive molasses and deep sugars towards the end with a distinct bitterness that shows oats and some deeper malts. Aftertaste shows the rich vanilla and creamy, almost lactosey notes along with the specialty grains that are seemingly oat-based, with a lot of both sugars that have turned into alcohol and light astringency and some unfinished sugars that are light and sweet in a less refined way (molasses and treacle). Overall, a relatively nice and slightly polished Imperial Porter that shows an American slant, but does well and could use an additional two years or so in the bottle to get the flavours subdued and still vibrant while capitalising on the heavy body for additional time. I sampled this 33 cL bottle, purchased from Knightly Spirits in Orlando (orange Blossom Trail), Florida on 05-May-2018 for US$5,69 sampled at my house here in Washington on 29-May-2020, just over two years later while waiting to go down to Florida again.
3.8 Pours an opaque dark brown-black with thin to no head. Aroma: roasted malt, chocolate, vanilla, warming and spiced, coffee and faint herbal bitterness, booze and candied fruit (cherry, plum) at the finish. Rich and sweet and chocolate-y smelling. Taste: chocolate, roasted malts, finish is spice and light chalk. Body: nice texture, very smooth, sweet but not cloying, soft slightly bounce-y finish. Comes together well, complex and creamy.
3.8 Bottle from Brewcraft at home. Dark almost opaque cola brown pour. Thin light tan head. Aroma is deep chocolate nutty wood and leather with alcohol. Taste is sharp boozy bitterness tempered by chocolate and oak sweetness. Really nice. Palate is ever so slightly chalky and rich. Lasting warm chocolate bitterness.
4.0 From bottle labelled Põhjala Deep Space Xmas Part on board Fridtjofen 31.03.20. Ebony. Brown head and lacing. Aroma and taste of dark chocolate, roasted malt, vanilla, cigar box and some pine bitterness. Good!
3.5 Czekolada,lekka wanilia,alko ulozone.Tyle.
4.0 0,33 litre Bottle from Vinmonopolet Stavanger, Verksgata. Almost Black with little head. Roasted malts, Chocolate, coffee, vanilla. Smooth.
3.8 Lots of cofee and dark chocolate. Dry and bitter. Lots of roasted malts. Huge head.
4.2 Birra nera, schiuma marrone, fine non abbondante e non persistente. Fantastico aroma di cioccolato, caffè, tostatura, liquerizia.
4.5 Aromas of chocolate, vanilla, spices. Slightly bitter and malty flavour with strong hints of coffee, chocolate, spice, and vanilla. Silky smooth body, reminiscent of port wine. Perfect for a winter evening. Very enjoyable.
3.7 Bottle from To Øl. As deep space Xmas party. Chocolate and coffee aroma. Black colour with a tan head. Taste grainy bitter chocolate and slight vanilla. Rich body.
3.9 Flaske.
4.0 Bottle. 8.0%. Best before 12.09.21. As ’Pohjala Deep Space Xmas Party’. Pours a dark brown, bordering black, with a frothy, but disappearing, tan head. No lacing. Sweetish aroma, roasted, with nuts, toffee, cake, vanilla, remote fruit. Hint of liquorice deep down. Ashy note as it warms. Flavour is sweetish, roasted, with nuts, toffee as well. Metallic overtone. Remote hint of rubber. Bitter finish, a bit tart, with cake/vanilla, and an ashy note lingering. Mild alcohol burn. Overall pretty good. Just lacks that last bit to be amazing. Also, I’m not getting any particular chocolate notes. 08.01.20.
4.3 Translation: Christmas Night. A silky smooth chocolate-vanilla oak aged Imperial Porter brewed for the winter nights. Aged on cacao nibs, fresh vanilla pods, and French oak for a heady chocolate dessert character with a luscious vanilla taste and aroma. Sort uden hoved
3.5 33 cl bottle @ home. Pours dark brown with a tan head. Aroma and flavour are caramel, cocoa, vanilla, roasted malt, and lactose - with a roasted finish.
4.0 Bottle from Struise Shop, Bruges. Pours hazy black with a quickly dissipating, dark beige head. Intense aroma of milk chocolate, custard, mocha, toast, caramel, biscuit, liqueur, nuts. Taste is medium to heavy malty sweet, candied fig & date covered in chocolate with a creamy, vanilla-like edge, undercurrent of nuts, bitter toast & powdery coffee, slightest umami accent. Dry, toasty, earthy, peppery hoppy finish, more coffee roast & dark chocolate, warming but subtle coffee & cream-liqueur alcohol in the very end. Full body, oily texture, fizzy carbonation. Very nice, balanced, ideal in wintertime.
4.2 Mye smak. Eik, sjoko
4.0 My first beer of 2020 is this sumptuous Imperial Porter. It pours black, tan head with great retainment, some sticky lacing. Aroma of roasted cocoa nibs, wood and vanilla. Tastes quite bitter, roasty, woody, bitter chocolate, coffee and vanilla. Not much sweetness here as it should be expected. Grassy bitterness to finish. Medium bodied, smooth and pleasant. Very solid.
