3.5 Bottle @ Mallas Kabakka, Seinäjoki. Poured near black with a thick white head. Berries, citrusy, hoppy, roasty aroma. Flavor has citrusy hops, roastedness, some licorice, mild ashy notes, licorice. Bitter hoppy finish. Solid stuff.
3.7 Bottle from Clapton Craft. Dark pour with a tan head. Roasted malt, some coffee, smoke, wood, hint of chocolate, pleasantly full body. Nice beer.
4.2 Black beer, brown head. Snell is malt and airy spruce. Taste is dark chocolate, spruce, malt, fruit. The spruce really adds something light and refreshing to a big, hefty black beer. Distinctive and very tasty.
3.5 0,33 l. Bottle from Spicy Days Zagreb. Dark color with off white head. Dark malt and coffee aroma. Fruit, citrus, bitter, sweet and dark malt aroma. Bitter finish
4.5 (> hop (physa, mangue), amande, μ-choco-café, first complexe, violence-douce, très dans-la-forêt & épicéa-esque, wow)
3.9 Bottle from Stanislaus Brewskovitch, Zwolle. Aroma is dark fruits with spruce, fruity and resinous hops, blueberries, dark malt, touch of espresso, some citrus and grapefruit. Flavour is moderate sweet with a firm bitterness. Body is above medium. Nice update from Pesakond, bit more sturdy with a lovely forest fruit and piney hop aroma, complemented by dark malt and coffee.
3.7 Bottle from eebria.com. Black cooour with a thick tan head. Aroma berry pine and big roasted malty coffee. Taste light bitter to medium sweet. Full body.
3.7 Unclear dark colored beer with a verry good creamy head. Taste is coffee, dark malts, chocolade, some sourness and a good bitterness.
4.1 330ml bottle from Good Spirits Co. Wine & Beer, Glasgow (£3.20): This one got off to a great start with plenty of citrus flavours & subtle hops coming through alongside some pine & various background fruits but it wasn't long before the darker malts started to make themselves known with some chocolate opening proceedings before the caramel malts & roasted flavours started to come through stronger. The beer was a varied one with a nice balance between flavours & a smooth but excellent mouthfeel that helped the beer go down so easily too.
3.7 Bottle. Black with strong tan head. Char, licorice, grapes, pine. Very charry with spruce, coffee, vanilla. I can't find the blueberries though. Smooth palate and a full body. Quite likeable and boldly charry for a black IPA.
3.7 Bottle at home. Pours jet black with beige head. Nose is faint bitterness and mainly cocoa powder. In taste the bitterness is more prominent, while the cocoa powder remains and there’s come chocolate and some earthy notes as well. Closes with long, cocoa/chocolate-y and bitter finish, has light to medium body and average carbo. I dont get any of the advertised fruits, but other than that it’s a fairly decent brew.
3.9 Pours thick pitch black, large brown head and excellent lacing. Aroma of roasted malts, spruce, berries and burnt caramel. Tastes roasty-bitter, very stout-ish, roasted malts, caramel, dark berries, dunk, chocolate, grass, light citrus hops. The stout character takes over the IPA. Which is what I like. Full bodied, viscous, soft carbonation and long finish. Very interesting ale.
3.7 Pours black with beige head. aroma: coffee and roasted malts taste: sprucesprouts, roasted malts, coffee, grassy hops and hint of blueberry. nice!
4.8 Thick black pour, frothy beige head. Nice nose, roasted malts, coffee, grassy hops. Citrus strong. Thin to medium body, medium carbonation. Light texture, slight thickness. Rich aroma, lots of stout qualities here. Coffee grains, hops in the aftertaste. Some grassy hops, pine. Spicy herbal notes. Long finish, bitter and dry. Fine black IPA. Robust and tasty.
2.9 On tap at Cafe Sara, april 25th 2017. Dark brown body with a beige head. Aroma of ashes, coffee and grass. Taste is roasted with piny hops and grass. Dry bitterness with a bit harsh fruit finish.
3.9 Bottle 330ml at home. BBE 2018-12-28. Batch 578. From Alko. A black beer with beige head. Dark malts, licorice, grapefruit, chocolate, roastiness and hops. Medium body, creamy texture, average carbonation and bitter finnish. Original rating 7-4-8-4-15 from bottle 330ml at Konttori 2016-10-18.
4.6 Dostałem to czego szukałem. Zniesmaczony poziomem polskiego kraftu w stylu Black IPA, zapragnąłem punktu odniesienia.
4.1 Drank with Masum @Kandinsky 23-04-18. Really good one! Awesome how the forest fruits are noticeable and go well with the subtle dark chocolate.
4.0 Blackish brown colour with beige big head on top. Looks damn good. Aroma has pines, grass, berries, dark chocolate, roasted malts, espresso coffee. Taste has roasted malts, coffee, berries and pines, ending is dry with coffee and slightly bitter with pines and grass hops. Fullish body and medium carbonation. Black IPA straight from the forest.
3.7 Tap at armazém da cerveja. Dark opaque appearance. Thin brown head. Medium bitterness. Dryness is high. Aroma and flavour is roasted, cacao, coffee, fruity, hoppy.
3.6 330mml. bottle as part of the European Local Swap 1/2018, many thanks to rosenbergh for this one. Tasted on the 14/03/2018 at home. Black colour with a medium to big beige head. Aroma of roasted matls, burnt coffee beans, liquorice and some cocoa nibs. Taste is roasty and cocoa nibs. Finish is roasty and dusty. Next one please!
3.8 33 cl bottle served in a snifter. Poured black with two finger tan head. Aroma: intense dominating nose of spruce, then beneath the forest assault there's caramel, grassy hops, some chocolate, vanilla, coffee. I don't get blueberries in the nose. Taste: spruce again, then coffee, caramel, bitter grassy hops, chocolate, wet earth andere leaves,, nuts, light notes of blueberries, vanilla. Light to medium body with a long bitter and full of forest finish. Impressive beer, like a walk through the forest or coming home on a cold winter day and to be greeted by the fantastic aroma of the christmas tree.
3.7 Black with creamy head. Aroma has quite a lot of piney hop. Flavour has some fruity berry sweetness too. Full flavoured and pleasantly bitter.
4.1 330ml bottle at a private tasting at Zarazbirachi, Ruse, Bulgaria. Pours opaque with a thick foam-and-froth beige head, heavy lacing but no visible bead. Dark brown in colour. On the nose, complex citrus with hints of smoke. Very smooth in the mouth with fine carbonation. At first, strong citrus flavours, giving way to the burnt toast and molasses of a stout. A perfect balance of sweetness and bitterness, with just a touch of sourness. Overall, a citrusy IPA and a stout in one bottle.
