3.4 330ml bottle pours an amber brown colour with a finger of white head that leaves some spotted lacing on the glass. Aroma is spicy rye grain with some hints of caramel and grapefruit. Taste is a spicy grain and grapefruit hop bitterness with a light fruity and caramel malty sweetness. Light bodied with good carbonation. Overall, a well crafted and tasty brew that is nicely balanced. Recommended.
3.3 330 ml bottle. Pours a dark red/brown with little head. Aromas of bread crust, dry sugar, toasted malts and copper. Flavors of dried dark fruit, rye bread, and metallic toasted malts. Dry.
3.0 bottle @ cake & beer (budapest) brownish colour, normal body, average carbonated, bready, coffee, caramel, malty,
Ciemnożółty kolor i drobnoziarnista struktura. W kontrze delikatne pikantne nuty. Chmiel już nie pierwszej świeżość. Praktycznie nie czuć go wcale. Smak: W smaku słodowe. Te 8 rodzajów słodów gra tutaj kluczową rolę. W dużej mierze czuć chleb żytni, przypieczoną skórkę od chleba, karmel i toffi. W tle lekka czekolada. Tekstura gęsta jak na żytko przystało. Goryczka umiarkowana, nieco pikantniejszy, pieprzowy finisz.
3.5 Bottle at home. Pours a reddish brown colour. Spice, vanilla and honey notes. Semi-sweet finish.
3.2 Bottle at Craigs. Pours deep amber, nose is yeasty, peppery, taste is similar, biscuity, fizzy.
3.4 Bottle at Craigs. Murky brown. Nose is some rye bread, fruits. Tastes caramel, bready malts, faint fruits. Very fizzy. This bottle seems to be quite old.
3.3 bottle at home .. copper .. massive tan head ... dry toffee rye nose .. soft toffee malts .. dry toffee .. herbal ... toffee fruit
3.6 Tap at Mother Kelly’s, 8th March 17. Pours murky, dark grey. Aroma is malt and grain. Taste is earthy, citrus. Quite good.
3.7 Drank with Marijn after dinner at his place 4-3-17. Good brown beer. Tastes like an abbey double.
3.9 Nice toastiness. Coffee. Visually pleasing, beautifully dark and nice foam.
2.5 W aromacie karmel, żelazo, stary chmiel. W smaku puste, karmelowe, ziołowe, ziemiste, lekko opiekane.
4.7 Taste: rotund (in estonian: täidlane) - First time I can say that do a drink/ food - and I really enjoyed this experience. But to be more specific, at first a bit bitter and complex feeling with a bit sourness and sweetness with it. That is followed by nice bread taste, which of course comes from rye as the name already suggests. The bread, at first sweet, with some coffe taste, is followed with bready sourness. It all mixes toghether a very colorful taste, which is probably the result of 8 different kinds of malts and 2 different hops (cascade and chinook)
3.3 bottle, Hienrichs 3000 Kornwestheim. Deep golden brown with a tall off-white head. Hoppy nose. Medium-bodied, malty base delivering good aromatic and bitter hops, resinous and piney, hints of grapefruti and citrus fruit.
3.0 On tap at Mother Kelly’s, Bethnal Green. Reddish brown, translucent. Trace of quickly dissipating white head. Raspberry ripple, chocolate and a bit of spruce in the aroma. Sweet taste with a hint of rye spiciness. Bitterness increases toward the end. Clove and milk chocolate in the aftertaste. Love this brewery but maybe not this beer so much.
2.7 Boy, the label looks so beautiful... I just wish the beer did it justice. The aroma is good but not especially complex or strong. The taste however is very bland and it feels too light bodied, not a big finish either. My bad for having great expectations just based on the design.
3.0 Aroma: biscuits, caramel, malt. Appearance: dark brown with brown head. Tate: burn malt, a bit caramel and malt bitterness like in porter. Palate: medium-bodied, high carbonation.
3.4 330ml Bottle - Dark brown in colour. Rye, raisins and biscuity malt in the aroma. Malty taste with rye, hazelnuts, roasted malt and berries. I preferred the first version.
3.5 Bottle at home, bought at Leidse Drankenhandel. Malty, light bitter, caramel notes. Nice.
3.4 Bottle: Aroma is malty, roasty, toffee, some smoke, light fruitiness. Dark brown color, off-white head. Flavor is malty, light caramelic, toffee, roastiness, cacao. Ends with roasty bitterness.
3.4 Cloudy dark brown with tan small head. Poor head retention. Nose is caramel malts, rye, grass and notes of oak. Taste is light bitter, grass, rye, spices. Creamy mouthfeel, medium head, low carbonation. Dry finish.
3.5 Tap@muusa. Brown color with tanned head. Aroma has caramel, roasted malt, raisins. Taste is malty with quite long bitter and a bit sweet aftertaste. Flavors of malt, caramel, grass.
3.5 Slightly hazy dark brown color with tan head. Aroma has spicy malt notes, dark bread and some tea-like hops. Taste starts with toasted malt, a bit of yeast, overall on the bitter side. Medium body with a quite smooth mouthfeel. Quite tasty but a bit unbalanced.
3.4 Happamahko. Vaahdottomahko. Paksuhko. Maistuvahko. Hienohko etiketti. Easy Riderin katseluun sopivahko.
3.4 Bottle. Sensoric. Deep brown with small, light brown, semi-densed head. Poor head retention and lacing. Aroma is hard to define, it’s mild, roasted raw grains, but rather lightly roasted, rye, herbal, lightly caramel, nuts and bread. Woody with touch of berries accents. Taste is light to medium bitter, dry, creamy, soft carbonation, finish is dry, chocolate. In general not the best experiment with grains, the beer is definitely grainy with some bitter, hoppy accents. Nice combination, but could be better.
3.4 Bottle. Dark brown with beige head. Aroma of roasted malts, fruits. Taste is malts, bread, spices, rye. Medium body, dry and bitter aftertaste.
3.2 Mörkbrun öl med liten skumkrona. Mycket maltig med lite torkad frukt. Helt okej!
