Point Oktoberfest

Point Oktoberfest

Point Oktoberfest is an authentic Marzen Style Lager Beer, a style reminiscent of the beers originally brewed for the first Oktoberfest Celebrations in Germany during the early 1800’s. Hand-crafted using Hallertauer hops and sweet Vienna roasted malts for a rich amber hue. The result is a full flavored, well balanced beer, brewed in celebration of the upcoming season.

3.2 This time a year I’m a sucker for a good Marzen and this one delivers. As for appearance it’s nothing exceptional; orangish-amber body with a thin head head that fades quick. Aroma is roast hops with caramel and toffee. Taste is full bodied, toffee, hops, caramel with a hint of coffee. Finishes clean. I liked it.
3.1 12 oz bottle pours amber with a off white head. Aroma and taste is malts and spice.
3.1 12 oz. bottle poured to a shaker at The Shoreline Restaurant bar in Gill’s Rock, WI., displaying a clear, amber tone, with off white spray as lacing. The nose was toasty, with a little dank grain scent. Light to medium bodied, with okay carbonation, the taste was also toasted, with a touch of caramel, and moderate, hop bitterness that had some earthy and lingering qualities. A decently quaffable Marzen.
3.0 Kinda of average flavor, light palate. lightly carbonated. just a average oktoberfest!
2.5 Bottle. Pours a clear ambery-copper color, smallish white head not much retention, or lacing. Nose is extremely faint, some malt and candied orange. Mouth is medium bodied, lightly bitter throughout, mildly malty with some orange peel and bread dough. Finishes with some cereal. Unisnpired and extremely average leaning towards sub-par.
2.8 Pour is a clear amber with a small white head. Aroma is a decent caramel malt sweetness. Flavor is light at first then a bit of roast nut hits you. Finish is light and thin. Like most Point beers they are going in the right direction but just too light around the edges.
3.0 bottle. amber with small head. light bodied oktoberfest-style beer. caramel malt. rather thin, but what’s here isn’t bad.
2.8 Clear copper color with no head. Aroma of roasted malt and grain, Grain flavor with roasted malt, and some caramel. Decent.
3.4 Pours a dark amber color with a fairly small head that fades to bits of lacing. Aroma of roasted malt, mild sweetness and bit of grain. Taste of roasted malt, nice malt sweetness and bit of grain in the background. Mild bitterness and a clean finish. Fairly light body, smooth with a good balance. Enjoyable beer, better than I expected.
3.7 Bright amber, mild sweet aroma, filtered appearance, small but lasting head unlike the Point Amber, good lasting lacing to the end. Excellent overall sweet flavor, not hoppy, great drinkability for all day festivals in New Braunfels like wurstfest. Great flavor and lighter body.
3.0 Pours light copper with a pretty good-sized head. Very little aroma beyond some vaguely earthy and toasty malts. Taste of yeast, bread, and toast. Light and crisp and creamy. Not a wower, but it hits all the basic examples of the style. Pleasant, easy drinker on a hot day.
3.0 Clear amber with a puffy, light tan head. Aroma is caramel malt, bread... Taste is sweet, toasted bread. Caramel malt... Average, but pretty good.
3.0 Bottle from the Sampler 12 pack. Gave this one a try after it one the GABF award in 2012.
2.8 Bottle at home courtesy of elkhunter36. Thanks man! Pour is clear amber with a small cream head and good lacing. Grainy, old, malty aroma w tih light touches of grass, corn, and wet-dog. Taste is caramel, somewhat grainy, corn, grassy, citrusy, bready, light toffee, and nutty. Medium mouthfeel with soft carbonation. Meh.
2.6 12 ounce bottle from Total Wine, Virginia Beach. Pours a clear amber color with a thin off-white head. Decent head retention. Aroma of grainy toasted malts. The taste is toasted malts, apple, faint hop finish. Thin and slightly watery.
2.3 Bottle. Pours with a standard-looking amber hue and a tight head of white foam. The aroma is soapy, macro-like. This drinks with a hint of toasty malt and a sweet maltose/biscuit finish. Falls flat. (#4823, 11/18/2012)
2.4 Acceptable marzen Oktoberfest. Pretty standard for the genre, amber colored pour with a balanced, perfectly sessionable lager. Despite, it’s still forgettable.
3.4 Aroma: sweet side, grainy with dusty notes, light proper hop profile sitting at back. 6+ Look: clear amber gold with medium nuoted carbonation. Plus sized top that was rather short lived. Some rings on glass. 3- Taste/palate etc: medium bodied. Quiet clean lager feel, smooth body , good malt with light floral hop to it. Quiet nice , drinkable Okto. One of better ones on market.
3.1 12 oz bottle I poured into a glass. Clear dark gold, short head, slight froth with light lacing. Aroma is grainy, sweet, some toast, carme.Vanilla notes. Carmel toast or slight roast. Crisp kind of tangy, light citrus finish. I enoyed this beer, not as good as Hofbu OctoberFest
2.6 12 oz bottle pours a clear amber with a small white head and a little lacing. Aroma is mostly caramel malts, with some vanilla and a bit of grass. Finish has a light citrus touch. Body is light to medium without much carbonation. As the start of the name implies, it’s OK, but I won’t search for this next fall. Thankfully, I only paid $6 for a 6-pack.
3.2 Clear dark gold, short head, slight froth with light lacing. Aroma is grainy, sweet, some toast, carmel, some ripe fruit like orange.Vanilla. Taste is same but with some pepperyness.Carmel toast or slight roast. Crisp kind of tangy, light citrus finish. Not bad.
2.7 Pours amber from the bottle. No head. Grassy smell. Carmel and malty taste. Not the greatest but drank it easily.
2.7 I bought this in the bottle from Total Wine in Henderson, NV. Mild tasting marzen well balanced malt and hops, not my favorite Oktoberfest but a decent beer.
3.1 Pours a clear amber. Some hops and even a little bit of sourness on the palate. A pretty standard marzen but a bit more hops than others I have tried.
3.4 Twist off Bottle via UDBeernut in box with returned growlers. A pleasant deep orange in tall glass with a thick white healthy head. Sweet malt, grass and tubas in the nose. Body is central with malt light graininess, and a bit wishy-wahsy water. Accordions and lederhosen optional. Body meanders back onto path for a crisp quick finish that leads directly to the next sip.
2.8 Pour from a 12 oz bottle. Cleam amber brew with light head. Aroma of caramel, malt, hay, bread. Taste is sweet malt at the start with a little grass and floral hops in the finish. Still sweet at the end, but not overwhelming as this is overall rather thin and weak. Average pallate. A little sticky in the finish. Quaffable.
3.2 six pack from the local rip and run. Twist off cap, glad I used electrical tape for Mr. Coldbrewky. Pours a lovely translucent amber capped by a billowy off white head with good retention. Nose has a nice bread character. Taste follows in order with light bitterness and flowers. Body is a bit weak and watery. Tasty and easy drinking none the less.
3.1 Bottle poured a clear orange amber with a lasting off white head., Aromas of carmel, bread and toasted malt. Palate was light bodied and smooth. Flavors of carmel and bread with a smooth lingering carmel finish.
3.2 Clear copper, loose white head. Caramel and peppery aromas. Flavor is lightly sweet caramel and peppery hops - pretty much what the aroma promises. Simple, but not bad.
3.2 Bottle. Amber bodied with a short, tan head. Aroma is soft malt notes, dark bread and caramel. Taste is caramel, dark bread, soft hops, and sweet malt. Body is medium with a soft, bubbly carbonation. Body is medium with a strong, dense carbonation. Ends with more dark bready notes, caramel, toffee, toasted grains and sweet malt.
