Poppels DIPA Double India Pale Ale
Ölen du håller i din hand är en Dubbel IPA, en ny ölstil skapad av amerikanska mikrobryggerier under 1990-talet. Med en “bigger is better”- mentalitet ökades innehållet av malt och humle jämfört med i en normal IPA. I en bra DIPA finns balans mellan den kraftiga humlen och en fyllig maltkropp.

Originally only a single batch was made named "Poppels Projekt 001 Dubbel IPA".
By popular demand and winning "Best Swedish Beer 2013" by members vote at BeerSweden was decided to continue in production, though with the same recipe as the project beer.
New batch was released March 1, 2014, at Systembolaget under the (website) name "Poppels Dubbel IPA (nr 88888)".

330 ml bottle. Poured clear medium amber colour with off-white head. Aroma toasted malt, grain, orange, peach, pine resin. Taste medium sweet and bitter, malty, orange and peach. Smooth bittersweet finish, orange pith, orange notes.
330ml bottle. Hazy amber color. Sweet, caramel, citrus, malty, fruity, juicy in aroma/taste.
Bottle. Golden, cleat, slightly yellowish foam. Aroma: sweetish, nectar, a little honey, citrus, fruity, flowers. Slightly sweet taste, citrus, fruity, soft, slightly bitter.
Shared bottle at Cardinal, Stavanger. Pours hazy golden with white head. Aroma of caramel, ethanol, floral and earthy notes. Tastes pretty sweet with some bitterness. Medium bodied, sweet finish.
Lättdrucken. Mycket smak av honung, fruktig. Doften beskriver vi som persika. Bitter eftersmak.
Sötklibbig maltighet möter kådig och tallbarrig humlighet. Det hela blir inte helt balanserat då tallbarren känns lite väl vassa. Fullt drickbar dock.
Mörkare pilsner färg, ytterst lite genomskinlig. Lagomt med skum. Luktar citrus och humle. Smakar citrus och humle, lite bäsk. Madium kropp.
Golden, small white head. Bisquit, hay, honeydew melon. A little sweet, but deep malty base. Tasty!

F: full bodied, apricot and grape fruit marmelade, heavy bitternes, rich and intensive carbonation, wee old butter, finishes grape marmelade
Bottle. Tangerine, rose, anise, light honeyish touch, formidable bitterness. Very tasty despite the oxidation.
Robe or, reflets ambrés, fine mousse. Nez typé sur des notes de houblon frais, de pamplemousse rose, de gingembre, de fruits exotiques, de mangue, de houblon frais. Bouche à l'attaque ample et fruitée, belle rétro houblonnée, bulle délicate et onctueuse, fine amertume en finale. Très belle DIPA de soif.
Clear orange pour. Fruity nose. Slightly sweet, but a lot of hops. Ok ipa, but not a DIPA imo
Color dorado-naranja turbio con espuma media blanca de buena retención y residuo medio. Aroma a lúpulos americanos, fruta muy madura, melocotón y almíbar con notas a resina y malta dulce. Sabor similar, lúpulos americanos, frutas de hueso maduras, caramelo, avena y piña pasada con notas a resina y miel. Dulzor frutal medio, amargor resinoso medio-alto y regusto largo. Textura semi-sedosa, cuerpo medio y carbonatación baja. Una Doble IPA marcada por el sabor frutal de lúpulos americanos que recuerda al estilo de Stone Brewing. Un caldo de malta y lúpulo muy concentrado e intenso.
0,33l bottle. Pours cloudy orange with off-white head. Aroma of tropical fruits, resin, pine, grapefruit and orange. Taste is orange, tropical, resinous, quite strong bitterness.
Flasche bei Bierlinie.
Klar, Gelb-Orange, etwas Schaum.
Aroma: Moderat Malzig. Mandarine, Pfirsich, auch etwas Karamell und Rosine.
Geschmack: Erst wenig Geschmack, entfaltet sich dann, recht süß, fruchtig, Stroh, Karamell.
Leicht bitter
Tumman oranssi lasissa pienehköllä vaahdolla. Tuoksussa on hedelmäisyyttä ja hieman mäntyisyyttä ja pihkaa. Mausta löytyy selvästi hedelmäisyyttä, mutta vähemmän katkeroa. Ehkä olut on päässyt hieman vanhenemaan.
Dunkles Gelb, im Geruch hopfig kräuterig leichte Frucht, sehr sanft im Geschmack für ein DIPA, kann deutlich mehr wums gebrauchen
Double ipa de 8 % abv et 80 ebu, avec malts d'orge et de blé.
Mon exemplaire était à 10 mois après sa date.
Couleur orangé aux reflets roux clair, et clarté nette.
Bulles fines, partout, bien vives.
Mousse beige, à gros flocons, stable à 3 mm.
Arômes d'agrumes, résine, zestes délicats.
1ère bouche avec un malt cara un peu envahissant.
Arrière-bouche qui met plus en valeur l'amertume, mais avec une note
de guimauve très curieuse en fin de bouche.
2ème bouche qui se décline en fruits confits.
Arrière-bouche courte, sans harmonie entre les saveurs.
Longueur qui ne peut améliorer ni l'ensemble ni la qualité des saveurs.
On a notamment de l'eau de rose, totatement inappropriée ...
Jambes très collantes.
Levure correcte.
Alcool de son niveau, mais sans aucune efficacité sur la longueur.
Finale qui montre enfin un meilleur visage .. un peu tard !!
CONCLUSION : une double ipa qui fait totalement mentir l'argument employé
par le brasseur : " bigger is better " … Faux. (6/1/5/2/7)
Cervezon de principio a fin. Sin quitarle la chapa el lupulo. Te invade. Es fresca pese a su alcohol. Mucho pino y piña madura. Equilibrada de inicio a fin y regusto largo a lupulo. Muy buena
330ml Flasche. Trüb dunkles Gelb, flacher Schaum. Kräuter und Hopfenduft. Karamell Geschmack. Aprikose, Hopfen. Mir zu langweilig.
En av de bättre men jävligt stark så dricka bara 1
Złocista barwa, delikatnie opalizujące, ładna, dość trwała piana. Niezły aromat, głównie cytrusy, ale w miarę ogrzewania wychodzą też białe owoce. W smaku wytrawne, zaskakująco lekkie jak na 8%, rześkie, chmielowe, z co najwyżej średnią goryczką. Bardzo pijalne, bardzo zdradliwe.

Flaska från SB. Guldgul vätska med vitt skum. Doft av tall, honung och mogna tropiska frukter. Len, söt och fyllig i smaken. Bra!
18.10.2019. 0,33l Bottle. Vinmonopolet Oasen, karmøy. Golden colour with white head. Good body and good bitterness. Sitrus and tropical fruits.
