First brewed in 2002 to celebrate the 15th anniversary of the original Pizza Port location in Solana Beach, we searched high and low and combined 15 of our favorite hops which were added every 15 minutes to the boil. Somewhat darker than other Double IPA style beers, our beer oozes the hop goodness of pine needles, freshly squeezed citrus and ground spices which are only moderately tempered by a sweet malt finish. Thankfully, for all of us hopheads, we have decided to brew this beer more than once a year. Look for Hop 15 to make appearances from time to time when space permits us to brew this, one of our favorite ales. Alcohol content varies. Spring 2012 batch is 11% ABV. Spring 2013 is 10%.

3.950cl can. Orange hazy color. Medium bitterness and light to medium sweetness. Medium body. Aroma and flavour is hops, melon, orange, pine, pinneapple, chili.
4.1Can. pours unclear, warm blonde to amber. Small but stable white head. Smell is intense, piney, woody, bit grassy, strong malty backbone ( white bread, toast doesn't show ) clean fermentation profile. mild alcohol aroma. Taste is intense, piny, very woody hops. Strong malty backbone. no toast, regardless the color, more like a thick breadyness. Medium thick MF, mild alcohol notes. High on resins. Very assertive bitterness. Strong flavor intensity ! Carbonation is to the lower side of medium, which is great for this kinda beer. Presumably not extremely fresh, since it had to be imported to Belgium, but the beer is still damn good, given the high malty base.
Big and beautiful.
4.2Can shared with JMD on board Fridtjofen 20.11.17. Slightly hazy dark golden. Dense, foamy and persistent off-white head and lacing. Superb aroma and taste of American hops, marmalade, citrus, mango, papaya and lychee. Solid and fruity bitterness is lingering on.
3.6Barwa bursztynowa, piwo klarowne, lekko opalizujące, piana biała, mało obfita, ale zdobiąca szkło.
Aromat średnio-intesnywny, chmielowy: słodkie cytrusy, nuty żywiczne i cebula w tle.
W smaku pełne, lekko słodkie, z wyraźnym grejpfrutowym smakiem, biszkopty w tle i niuanse landrynkowe. Goryczka wysoka, żywiczna w posmaku. Finisz alkoholowy, rozgrzewający.
3.2From Feb 2008
I got this in a trade with Fishdawg71. Thanks Geoff!
It pours an amber gold with a small and fast receding head of foam. Some lacing.
The smell is hoppy with notes of grapefruit and pine. If I sniff hard enough, some caramel malt is also there.
The taste is of grapefruit and pine up front with some caramel malt peeking in as well as notes of bread. This one has a thick mouthfeel too it and I'm liking it. The carbonation is light and it finishes with both sweet malt and bitter hops to make some pretty good balance. There are other fruity flavours mid palate that I can't really identify but they're nice. The alcohol is fairly well hidden...not as well hidden as I would have liked, though.
All in all, I'm pretty fond of this DIPA and would drink it again.
3.3Rami Rami is drinking a Hop-15 Ale by Port Brewing Company at Powiśle
Solidnie nachmielone, glownie zywica, nieco tropikalne, ciut syropowe... nieco miodowo utlenione, alko ladnie schowane, takie WC. Najs, 3.4
Rami Rami: Aha, swiezo po kanalowym wiec malo miarodajnie... i do tego: spora goryczka (ciut alko) i raczej slodkawe
Rami Rami: Na cieplo jeszcze agresywniej, bardziej bezkompromisowo... niespecjalnie mi pasi ten kierunek - 3.3 :)
Rami Rami: Ta goryczka zaczyna nabierac nieco alkoholowego charakteru
4.5Brutal!
3.911% ABV can. Pineapple, mango, passionfruit, some tangerine, marmelade and biscuits in nose, Pours dark golden with white head. Taste is medium dry with lots of pineapple, passionfruit, mango, some citrus followed by marmelade notes. High bitterness at the finish, average carbo, oily mouthfeel. Alcohol is almost perfectly hidden, very drinkable for such a monster.
4.0Aroma is big, hoppy and sweet, with notes of tropical fruits, caramel, marmalade, pine. Taste is sweet, bitter and potent with grapefruit, dried fruits, apricot jam, grassy bitterness. Full bodied, a bit alcoholic, with a grassy and fruity bitterness in the finish. Nice and heavy.
3.8Yep yep, very nice IIPA, but it lacks the finesse, the final punchhitter, it's a little too bitter for my taste and a little too little true ingredients like the hops and fruits to call it a classic. Maybe this was one of the pioneering beers when the craft bbusiness was starting, but it's met with some stiff competition since.
3.6Can. Pours golden, clear, big head. Citrus, heavy malts, caramel, grass, resin. In aroma neither extremely schoking, nor extremely bad. havy body, heavy bitterness, nice citrusy-sweet balance. Good DIPA
3.2Aroma of caramel, sponge cake, herbal-style and a little conifer-style hops. Taste the same, but there is quite long bitterness and alc. in aftertaste. Over time alc. is more and more detectable, in aroma too...
4.5Lata. 11%.
4.5Aromat: mocny i intensywny, cytrusy, owoce tropikalne, wszystko świeże, słodkie i soczyste.
Smak: wytrawne i owocowe, pomarańcze, grejpfruty, cała masa owoców tropikalnych, mango, ananas, marakuja.
4.2Turbid/opaque amber/orange beer with medium yeast and with a slight/medium off-white/beige head. Medium/heavy aroma with loads of orange, tropical fruit and hops. Taste is amazing, being sweet and very bitter at the same time.
3.7Can shared@Himmeriget, Copenhagen - golden amber coloured pour with white head. Sweet fruity and malty with some great citrus fruity hits, sweet caramel malty backbone, punchy hoppy action, hoppy medium bitter into the finish.
4.0Amber with rich white creamy head. Malt aroma with hoppy notes. Some sweet maltiness immediately followed by very strong hoppy bitterness. Lasting bitter aftertaste.
3.9Bottle. Pours hazy orange. Aroma and flavor are juicy citrus, soft grass/pine, honey, light toast, and rich bitterness. Medium body.
3.3Bottle pour. Hazy golden orange with a large soapy off white head. Aroma is grapefruit, citrus, and pine. Medium body. Strong upfront lasting bitter with a slight salty finish.
4.2Awesome, full bodied and good ol' heavy IIPA. Lots and lots of piney, resiney goodness. Bitternes. Long langsting.
3.8Pours a dark amber from a bottle. Big pine and citrus aroma, similar flavor layered lovingly over a malt mattress. Pretty good beer.
5.0Tasty, very biscuit 15 hop IPA. @ 99 Bottles, Santa Cruz.
3.0Golden, bubbly pour. Good healthy white head. Lemony front end and bitter back end..
4.9dope double IPA. beautiful IPA with a hefty smack behind the head. the sweetness prevails. awesome full bodied IPA.
4.1Appearance: Orange, slightly hazy. Lots of creamy white head.
Aroma: Light fruits, hops, resins.
Taste: Nice light fruits, light bitterness. Resins. Great balance, very smooth.

3.9Wondering if this bottle might be a hair past its prime, but it doesn't really matter since it's pretty damn tasty, regardless. Nice mixture of caramel malt sweetness backed up by a slight toast and grain undertone, all on top of a massive reservoir of hop goodness. Orange marmalade and ripe mango mixes with pine and pepper and resin, providing a thorough tour through your favorite hop notes without allowing any element to dominate. Nice egalitarian DIPA, I guess. Wish the aroma was stronger, but, again, might be due to age. Who cares. No way I'd say this beer was 10% if the label didn't insist it was. Tasty.
4.3Bomber freshly (bottled? NN) catered by BA-beersnake, merci! Shared at Freiburg Deluge Tasting Aug2017. - perfect Oldschool execution of abv-powered, but not-abv-fuming pine resins and exotic fruit jam. Thick hop oil nose damp (more than dank) with fresh citrus pith and pine resins, with just an edge of ripe mango alcohols. Flavour reminds me of candied lemon pieces mixed in a whipped passionfruit quark, dessertlike without letting the Crystal/caramalts get the better of its lupuline freshness. Remarkable rstraint for a lush 15 hop IIPA. Gorgeous to be able to sample this so fresh - a flat post-tasting 10cl residu worked wondes to pep up the Mrs’ Feierabendpils.

4.2Can; pours hazy amber with thin off white head; aroma of pine, tropical fruits, and some floral notes; taste has a little bit of bitterness with tropical fruits, some floral hints and a touch of maltiness; finish is dry and bitter with some pine
