3.5I'm honestly surprised that I have yet to rate this one. I'm pretty sure that I've had this before. But, oh well, here goes...... Pours a slightly cloudy, deep golden color with minimal head. Aroma is of hops, pine, malts, mango, leaves, and some earthiness. Very carbonated palate. Slightly off balanced. Flavor is of hops, lactic, malts, grass, slight citrus, and pine. Leaves a slightly bitter fresh hop finish. Good stuff.
3.6(puszka 8% abv) Barwa złota, piwo przymglone, piana biała obfita, trwała.
Aromat średnio-intensywny, białe owoce, owoce tropikalne i nuty żywicy w tle.
W smaku delikatna, landrynkowa słodycz, owoce tropikalne z mocnym posmakiem tytoniu, zywicy. Goryczka wysoka, ostra, tytoniowa.
3.8Appearance- tries to escape the can, then pours amber with a bit of haze, a fluffy clingy solid half-finger off-white head. Aroma- hop resin, fruitcake, glazed tropical fruit, mango, pineapple hints, trace of booze. Taste- hop resin, sticky juicy fruit, caramel, pine, oily hops, orange peel. Clingy sticky finish, quite a full mouthfeel. Good stuff.
3.7Barwa złota, piana duża.
Aromat mocno cytrusowy, lekko tropikalny, żywiczny.
W smaku sporo słodowości, mocne cytrusy, lekkie tropiki i lekki karmel.
Goryczka mocna, takie albedo grapefruitowe.
Alko totalnie nieobecne.
Fajne pifko.
3.6Beautiful pours: clear amber with a medium head and nice sticky lacing. Aroma reveals lots of fruity hops with notes of citrus. Tastes quite bitter, with caramel and fruity notes (citrus mainly, and some mango) before a deep bitter finish. Medium body, viscous and soft carbonation. Another IIPA that feels like others. Nothing remarkable, but an honest and quaffable ale.2
3.9Can from Beer Gonzo Webshop, Earlsdon, Coventry. Consumed at Fairport Conventions Annual Reunion, Cropredy Festival 9th August 2018 Pours hazy warm gold with a large white head. Tropical and pine laden aroma, I also get pine resin in the mouth. Sweet malts but also a little more bitter than expected, which is a good thing I reckon. I like this, glad I picked up a couple. 4.7From a can to a glass. Pours a slightly hazy amber color with a big frothy creamy head. Aroma is dank piney hops and tropical hop notes. Taste follows the aroma with some earthy spice hops and grapefruit and slight biscuit malt note in the sip aswel. Very great Dipa and very well balanced. Great Medium mouthfeel. This Dipa has a great balance of hops and malts. Leaving malt rings all down the glass! Awesome!
3.7Kirkkaan meripihkainen jättäen paksun isokuplaisen vaahdon. Tuoksu on vahvan mäntyinen, pihkainen ja hieman sitruksinen. Alkumaussa on tyrmäävä humalaisuus, joka lopussa tuntuu polttavalta. Mukana myös sitrusta ja hieman makeaa mallasta.
3.5Piwo koloru złocistego, zmętnione, z puszystą białą pianą przede wszystkim słód i karmel :(.
3.616oz. can. Tasted on the 19/07/2018 at "Singulario", Compostela (Galiza). Clear orange color with a medium and fuffly white head. Aroma is malts, sweat hops, pine needles, orange and tangerine. Taste is intense citrus and medium hoppy with a presence of pine needles, oranges and some yeast. Not a bad one for "Birthday Beer". Next one please!
3.8The aroma is resiny, piney, citrusy, malty, bitter and full of herbal notes. The color is hazy orange and the head is white and frothy. The taste is bitter, resiny, piney, citrus, malty and full of grapefruit pith. A nice beer!
4.0On tap.
Hazy light Golden pour, small White head.
Nose is full of citrus, good. Taste crisp and fresh, hoppy, with a clear floral note.
Medium body, soft carbonation.
4.1Bärnstensfärgad, nästan klar. Tallbarr o citrus dominerar doften. Blandat tropiskt i smaken: citrus, mango, ananas. Beskan kryper in o dominerar mot slutet. Välbalanserat, mycket gott!
3.8Port Brewing Mongo Double IPA 8%
Clear copper gold with a thick head of foam. Floral and pine needles with fruity sweet notes as well and a decent malt backbone.
Lovely full smooth bodied mouthfeel. The taste is sweet upfront then big balanced bitterness. I get woodsy pine bark, mild cream soda in the finish and stone fruit complementing the chewy malts.
My initial impression was it was a tad boozy but three sips in and I think it’ll do just fine. Damn tasty.
3.9Golden pour, not super clear but not hazy either. Nosehas good hoppy base, resiny and fruity, some mango and passion fruit juice there. Tastes decently hoppy, well-hopped and loaded with tropical fruits at the same time. Feels good full-bodied but not heavy, great balance. Lingering bitterness, again fruity and well balanced. Enjoying this, well executed DIPA that satisfies my hop tooth.
3.7Bottle. Unclear golden to orange colour, average, frothy, white head. Aroma of citrus, orange, grapefruit, tangerine, light pine, resin, flowers, notes of malt. Taste is very light sweet and medium to heavy bitter, citrus, orange, grapefruit, tangerine, peach, resin, light pine and herbs. Long bitter fruity, resiny and herbal finish. Medium body, soft to average carbonation. Very tasty and hoppy, however quite sharp.
3.6I know this one is way better than what I experienced here. I noticed when I got home that the date was fresh by instead of a canned on. Most raters mentioned this as being clear and this pour was hazy. Nonetheless, I know this would be a great beer when fresh. Mongo has a perfect balance of citrus and pine settled on a good cereal malt base. Drinks like a standard IPA with the Imperial IPA benefits.
3.8Clear yellow orange with a fizzy, frothy mess of a head. Nose is quite malty, light caramel, big hops, pine needles, dank, citrus and tropical fruits. Light sweetness, syrupy consistency with pine needle and pineapple, mango and citrus. The finish is off dry, quite bitter and acidic. Booze is perfectly hidden.
4.0Pours clear orange with nice, tight, 1 inch head. Aroma of classic ipa. Pine, citrus, grassy. Flavor is more intense than aroma. Lots of grassy, rose, pine, very bitter. Somewhat sweet but finishes very dry and bitter. Light wheat bread malt flavor. Nice classic ipa. West coast must try
3.5Pint can. Tropical fruit hop aroma with notes of grapefruit hop citrus and pine resiny hop. Pours cloudy golden colored with a large off white head that has excellent retention and some lacing. Starts with bright tropical fruit and resinous grapefruit hop citrus. Finishes dry and bitter with pine resiny hops joining the dank grapefruit. Pretty good, but a bit harsh on the finish.
3.7Bottle from Beergium. Clear golden beer with good white and cloudy head. Aroma has exotic fruits, malts, sweet and wood. Taste has same elements; exotic fruits, sweet malts, wood and herbs. Quite much bitter. Full body, some alcohol exists. Not so fresh anymore.
4.5Nice west coast style DIPA. Full bodied, some citrus and nice balance of hops. Great beer overall.
Soczyste i słodkie cytrusy, pomarańcze, czerwone grejpfruty.
Odczucie: ciało średnie, w sam raz, wysycenie średnie, alkohol absolutnie niewyczuwalny, finisz gorzki żywiczny i grejpfrutowy.
Całość: bardzo pijalne, świetnie zbalansowane, super owocowe, dosyć umiarkowane, zdradziecko lekkie, świetne piwo z Zachodniego Wybrzeża. Super nachmielenie, świetny profil goryczki, niesamowita lekkość i sesyjność. Świetne piwo. 7/4/8/4/18
4.0Tap at Toranado, 22nd November 17. Pours light and clear, aroma is fruit and citrus peel. Taste is bitter pith, clean, pine, drinks way below the ABV. Very good.
3.7Bottle from Asahiya. Malty nose, with some citrus, then fairly strong pine, tropical fruit, and citrus again. Hazy light copper color with a thick off-white head and some sticky lace. Grapefruit, sweet caramel, pine, and citrusy hops. Heavy body, with some mid-oalate hop burn. Pretty thick and full featured, but w/o extreme bitterness. Tasty, but after several sips it starts to lose its initial appeal.
2.9Pours a nice amber from a can. I'm picking up some tropical fruit notes, pine, soap and cilantro. For 8.5% it's rather thin, kind of refreshing at first that there's no sweet malt backbone pillowing the whole thing up, but then you realize it's there for a reason. Too soapy bitter for my taste. Okay beer.
