375 ml bottle.
Black body, with a small, creamy, dark beige head.
Aroma of bourbon, melting dark chocolate, coconut, cocoa, some soy sauce, some alcohol.
Tastes quite similar, with some more tobacco, booze.
Medium, creamy mouthfeel, with a low carbonation.
Finishes warm, boozy, astringent, a bit dry, wooden, with bourbon, dark chocolate, some tobacco, slight dark fruits.
Tasty. Heavy and quite boozy, but still well balanced, with the bourbon barell dominant, but well integrated. Lovely, warming sipper.
4.10,375l bottle at Sanders shared by Saeglopur, big thanks. black color, small coffee colored head. smells of cinnamon, earthy, wood, licorice, very nice smell. full body, light carbonation, slick mouthfeel. tastes of cinnamon, bourbon, earthy, spices, peppery, menthol, bitter chocolate. finishes lightly bitter with notes of cinnamon, peppermit, spices. very nice one, a bit on the fresh side, nice peppermint and cinnamon notes. good stuff.
4.0Sampled from a 12.7 oz brown bottle, corked and caged. Deep brown colour with a fast fading beige head. Nose - vanilla, oak, chocolate, coffee, alcohol. Taste - rich chocolate, toffee, woody, whisky. Finishes toasty and oaky with lasting chocolate and coffee notes. Heavy bodied, but still quite smooth. A great ale.
4.2Black pour with small dark tan head. Aroma of chocolate milk, caramel, bourbon, ripe fruit. Taste of chocolate, cocoa, caramel, molasses and bourbon. What a complex beer. Nice carbonation and creamy mouthfeel. Hints of coconut on the aroma as well.
4.5Rating #2857 - 2018.01.20 - #RBAGWinter2018 - Pours a syrupy jet black with little head. Aroma is charcoal, molasses, black licorice and dark chocolate. Palate reveals some booze, some barrel character, some oaky vanilla molasses textures. This is unbelievably drinkable. Off with an absolute bang!
4.1(bottle, 35.5cl) Dark brown colour with a beige and short creamy layer. Moderately roasted malty and slightly nutty aroma with oaky notes of vanilla, vinous accents of dried fruits, chocolate, leather, backed by a massive amount of herbal and resiny hops. Moderately sweet and roasty bitter flavour, full bodied with a well-carbonated mf. Mildly roasted malty, nutty and boozey taste with vinous fruit character, chocolate and oaky notes; l asting sweet-bitter and slightly alcohol-burning finish. Wonderful. 25.XII.17
4.0Little bottle: Literally black, small tanned foamy layer; very complex aroma of dried cruits, wood&vanilla, leather and port-wine; solid bitter and also sweet flavour, full, astonishingly soft; lingering dry leathery-fruity finish, vinous and chocolatey traces included. Great experience..._
3.8Lekko kawowe, sporo słodyczy. Stylowo typowy mocny stout. Nieco wodniste - mogłoby być gęstsze. Słodko-beczkowe nuty na finiszu.
4.3Beautiful barrel - vanilla aroma. Kind of toffee to dried red fruit mouth feel. Alcohol balance on spot. Average rating IMO fully justified.
Solidan pozycja.

I bought this from South Bay D&L. Thanks Joey!
To preface this review, I thought the Old Viscosity was damn good and a really hard act to follow. We shall see.
It pours from caged and corked 12.7oz bottle... I want to say a pitch black but it's not quite there so I'll say a *very* dark brown with a very small head of foam after the pour that shrank almost immediately to a fine broken layer. Still, it has some good lacing.
The smell had me grinning. Lots of bourbon in the nose(hence, some alcohol) along with fruit, chocolate, toffee, fig...I hope I'm getting it right as it may be too complex to my nose buds and I may be not able to identify everything that is going on here. Bottom line here: wonderful nose.
The taste....mmmm...pretty darned amazing. Wonderful notes of bourbon, toffee, fig, more dark fruit, caramel, vanilla, roasted malt that shows up mostly in the finish, coffee, umm...wow. I'm thinking, too tasty for my glass, too tasty for my glass.(get the reference? ;^)
The mouthfeel is medium, which surprised me, and the carbonation is very lightly done which fits this brew to a T. I have to shake my head about how drinkable this +12%abv brew is. The alcohol is certainly there judging by the warming I get after the swallow but that's pretty much it. No sign of it in the taste for me at all. Well done Port Brewing. You took an incredible brew in Old Viscosity and took it to new levels and still made it a very drinkable brew. F'n amazing. Get some any way you can, I say.
Edit: This is the 2008 edition.
Postgusto licoroso y a chocolate.
4.2Dark brown body with tan head. Nice malty nose with caramel and plenty of bourbon. Taste of caramel, whisky, malts and bourbon. Really nice and thick. Syrupy. Nice one.
4.2Black color, small brown head. Heavy bourbon aromas with vanilla, wood, butter, corn, alcohol, chocolate and arrack. Sweet taste with bourbon, creamy butter, alcohol, vanilla, roasted hints, corn on the cob, arrack, chocolate and light peat. Sweet finish with slight alcohol. Never tasted a beer with such prominent borubon flavors. I like it!
W zapachu niezwykle przyjemny miks toffi, kakao i wanilii. W smaku nieco powyżej półsłodkiego, intensywne toffi, karmel, krówki, czekolada, kawa espresso i wanilia, delikatna cierpkość i szorstkość od beczki, całość wykończona muśnięciem whisky i średnią, tytoniową goryczką. Dość mocno rozgrzewające, z nisko średnim nagazowaniem, pełne, średnio gęste i delikatnie wyklejające w odbiorze.
5.0625ml bottle bought at Real Ale (Richmond). Dark as motor oil, with a thin brown head. Aroma of chocolate and bourbon. Strong flavour, with notes of whisky.
Ogólnie piwo bardzo dobre troszkę pełnia siadła i mogło by mieć zdecydowanie niższe wysycenie.
4.1Vintage 2009, at City Beer SF. Black color, minimal beige head. Bitter taste with roasted malts, coffee, nuts, dark fruits, chocolate, oak, bourbon, licorice and a bit of bread. Bitter finish with roasted malts, coffee, nuts, dark fruits, wood, chocolate and licorice. Exquisite imperial stout.
3.912.7 oz. bottle pours black with a thin tan head. Aroma of bourbon and toffee. Taste is bourbon, oak, cherry, chocolate
4.5375ml bottle from Super Deli & Grocery, Seattle. Vintage 2014. Pours an almost black with a brown head. Aroma is bourbon, bourbon barrel, dark fruits, chocolate. Taste is oily with bourbon, chocolate, fruity and some bourbon barrel notes. Still slightly hot, but in a pleasant way. Amazing!
4.2Pours tar black with no head. Aroma of toffee, caramel, vanilla, and wood Thick viscous body with strong bourbon flavor, vanilla, toffee, and hint of wood. Beautiful beer.
4.1Bottle. Aroma is tons of bourbon, vanilla, oak, roasted malt, coconut, chocolate notes. Very dark brown with tan head. Taste is moderate sweet and light+ bitter oak. Full body, oily feel and bourbon bitter finish.
3.1Bottle. Pours pretty flat. Dark brown, near black. Oily in appearance, thin legs. Aromas of bourbon, cardboard, light caramel. Not much going on, to be honest. Taste is a but fuller than the nose lets on, but this seems a bit thin on my palate. Nothing clings or resonates...just fades. Liight vanilla, caramel, toffee. Light raisin, light molasses sweetness. Bourbon takes hold. Finishes with too much heat for the body to handle. Not my thing.
4.02015 bottle. Pours a thick, oozy brown black, deep and foreboding, with nary a bit of head. Aroma blossoms with heavy toffee and caramel and oak shored up by a massive bourbon backbone. Taste starts with a burst of caramel and molasses, sweet as soft candy and almost as chewy, then grows a dark fruit middle, black cherry and fig and raisin, before the a licorice-tinted finish offers up massive waves of bourbon and oak. So much oak. Might be one of the biggest oak bombs I’ve tried, with a lengthy bitter, dry fade more woody and liquor-fueled than a frat boy. Alcohol remains bearable despite the ABV. Never thought it was possible to have too much oak, but this beer pushes my limit. Still, pretty damn enjoyable.
4.0From a bottle. Pours very dark brown with a creamy light brown head. Tastes like rich chocolate malt, smooth booze, ashy wood, and tobacco. Medium body and low carbonation. Smells like booze, chocolate malt, ashy wood, and tobacco.
