Porterhouse Oyster Stout

Porterhouse Oyster Stout

You put what in it?!

This stout is simply not suitable for vegetarians. It contains oysters. Now, you won’t find one at the bottom of the glass, but you may get a touch of sweet minerality in the flavour that comes from the freshly shucked lads that get put in during brewing.

Not a bad way to go, even for a bivalve.Delicate and toasty, it also has slightly bitter, fragrant twist, thanks to East Kent Goldings.

Malts: Ale Malt, Flaked Barley, Roast Malt, Roast Barley

Hops: Galena, Nugget, East Kent Goldings

0.5 Uninspired and bland. Awful
3.7 "Porterhouse Oyster Stout", Fläschchen. - Tiefdunkles Rotbraun. Sehr aromatisches, dabei rundes Stout. Schön. (23.1.2019.)
3.2 Bottle from w.16th liquor, $3 CAD, bought in December 2012, cellared for 7 years. Attack: light crisp Mids: brightness, caramel root beer, lvl5-sweetness, roasted barley malt Finish: light licorice, bitter roast Overall: a complex roast without much sourness. Clean and drinkable.
3.4 Keg at The Porterhouse Central, Dublin. Black with a dense beige head. Aroma is roasty, but it’s tricky to pick it up through the nitrogen pillowhead. Really nice and dry, bitter flavour.
3.2 How: bottle. Best before: 1.4.2019, rated 27.11.2019 ( just where did that time go.) Head: off white, two finger Colour: dark brown Aroma: coffee, campfire, sea, Taste: thin body, average carbonation, coffee, sea. Quite round. Campfire at sea medium long aftertaste.
3.1 0,25l pour at Oluthuone Leskinen. Pours black with white head. Lots of roastiness. Light bodied, easy to drink. Some bitterness in the finish. Decent.
2.7 Nice but not for fish allergic..
3.2 From tap at Porterhouse, New York. Smokey aroma with roasted malt, bit burnt. Roasty bitterness, light sweet. Very roasty.
3.5 (On tap) Black with dense white head. Subtle aroma of dark roast malt. Medium bodied and very smooth carbonation. Dark roast malt with hint of sweetness at start and nice bitterness in finish. Decent stout.
3.8 7th Sep 2019, Porthouse (Temple Bar), Dublin. Draft half-pint. Smooth, easy drinking Stout, looked the part and tasted the part.
3.6 On tap at the brewpub. Pours a clear dark brown with a thick tan nitro head. Aroma of chocolate malt, bitter chocolate, roasted malt. Flavor of roasted malt, sea salt, bitter chocolate. Smooth palate from the nitro. Solid. 7/4/7/4/14 (3.6/5)

3.1 On tap at Porterhouse Central. Deep brown with full oatmeal head. Slight roast aroma. Bitter chocolate flavor.
3.5 0.33 l bottle. Thanks Marko! Shared with Mlađo Mods. Cola colour, red tint, small off-white head. Aroma is roasty, toasty, papery, slightly burnt. Slightly salty. Burnt. Light herbal touch. Sweetness. Spicy caramely finish, slightly sweet. Drinkable, light to medium body.
3.8 Robe brune, fine mousse, peu persistante.
3.7 0,33l Flasche. Dunkelbraunes Bier, cremiger dünner Schaum. Muschel Duft. Dazu Röstmalz. Karamell Malz Antrunk. Leicht salzig. Die Muscheln kommen deutlich heraus.
3.5 Syvän musta väri. Pieni tiivis vaahto. Tuoksu: karamellimaista makeutta, maltaita. Maku: paahteisuutta, maltaita, hiukka savua. Humalat yllättävän voimakkaasti esillä. Oikein hyvä. (Ostereita on kylläkin vain etiketissä)
3.1 Botella, Color marron oscuro-negro,espuma de color cafe,fina,alta,resistente.Aroma cafe,malta tostada,frutos secos,caramelo.Sabor combinacion de dulzor y amargor bastante buena,malta tostada,caramelo,cafe,frutos secos
3.8 Draft pours black with a tan head. Aroma of chocolate, salt and some coffee. Taste is nice grains and chocolate
3.4 Hyvä kun vain 4.6%. Kevyt runko. Suklaata, p mallasta. Helppo.
3.7 Aroma of coffee, chocolate, caramel, wood, leather and nuts. Deep brown to black with a tan head. Medium sweet and medium bitter. Medium body with average to soft carbonation. Overall a brilliant Stout.
3.5 Good flavor....just is lacking some body...so what's here is on the thin side. Otherwise, I would rate the flavor and overall an 8. Chocolate malty with some added sweetness from the oysters. Almost like a porter in feel. Found it too pricey to get a 4-pack, so just sampled one. Glad I did cause not quite worth the tag. Think I prefer something like Flag Porter for about 60% of the price.
3.4 On tap at Porterhouse Central, Dublin. Dark brown, creamy beige head. Roasted malts, some coffee, sweetish. Smooth, bitter finish. Medium bodied.
3.0 Dark brown, some roasted and dark malts notes, a bit of salt, watery, average carbonation...not my thing.
4.0 Thick, small, everlasting creamy off-white head over a black body with nice ruby shades. Aroma is soy sauce, salty licorice, some coffee. Taste is soy saice again, ground coffee. Long, pleasant salty and bitter finish. Low body, high carbonation, thin texture. I have been looking for this one since ages. Amazing stout!
