Porterhouse Wrasslers XXXX

Porterhouse Wrasslers XXXX

XXXX! That’s good!

XXXX refers to the alcohol level and the depth of flavour in this stout. Our kettle hops drum up a fabulous aroma, flaked barley delivering big time on texture and the darkly roasted grain building a flavour as solid as a rock. Not for the faint hearted. Can you handle it?

Malts: Ale Malt, Wheat Malt, Dextrin Malt, Oat Malt, Vienna Malt

Hops: Nugget, Centennial, Amarillo, Cascade, Mosaic, Citra

3.5 0.33 l bottle, thanks Marko! Shared with PBF Baby Driver and Mlađo Mods. Dark. Licorice and soy sauce, coffee with sugar, dark chocolate. Dry and very roasty finish. Slightly herbal, light candy. Medium body, moderate carbonation, sticky, lasting finish.
3.0 33 cl fles. Helder donker bruin van kleur, fijne romige bruine schuimkraag. De geur is chocolade en karamel. Smaak is zoet/zuur, koffie, citrus en chocolade.
4.3 Bottle. Pours a really nice black/dark brown, with a mocha lacing. Lots of dark chocolate and roast coffee aroma. Creamy/oily mouthfeel, lots of malts and barley in the flavour, with a chocolatey finish. Slightly watery mouthfeel, but also makes it quite drinkable. Goooood.
3.9 0,4l on tap @ Old Story. Pours very dark brown with a medium creamy tan head. Aroma is dry roasted malts with coffee. Flavor is dry roasted malts, ashtray, coffee, hops. Very good.
3.4 Tap @ Maltainen Riekko. Pitch black with light head. Char, chocolate, toast. Sticky, full-bodied, a bit coarse. Long grainy palate.
3.8 I imagine that this should be the standard for this style of stouts. Near perfect appearance. Sweet chocolate malty flavor...creamy texture. My second sample from porterhouse which i liked better than their oyster stout. This is a beer that i would get again for sure.
3.7 Aroma of coffee, chocolate, soy sauce, leather and smoke. Black with a tan head. Medium sweet and medium bitter. Medium + body with average to soft carbonation. Dry and bitter finish. Overall a nice stout. Very enjoyable.
3.7 Draught at Porterhouse Temple Bar, Dublin, Ireland (€2.75/half). Poured an opaque black with 5mm of light tan dense foam that retained extremely well and laced extremely well. Aroma not over-whelming of dark fruits, roasted coffee and sweetness. Taste of dark chocolate with slight coffee, sweet vanilla and milk all with a slight bitterness. Medium body. Smooth, very creamy and slightly dry. Very nice.
3.6 330ml bottle from Otdokhni in Moscow. Pours black with a creamy tan head. Aroma is coffee, dried fruits, roasted malt. Taste is roasted malt and coffee, a bit earthy, very dry. Medium bitter finish.
Aroma a grano tostado y ligero chocolate negro.
3.7 Bottle. Opaque deep brown to black. Moderate well-lacing head of beige colour. Aroma: roast, coffee, earth, a bit vinous. Light to medium body. Taste: fairly dry, very roasted, a fair amount of coffee and cream. Earthy and citrusy bitterness. Light plus hopping. Outstanding dry stout.
4.8 "Stout jaki pijał twój dziadek." Wygląd: Ciemnobrązowe, prawie czarne. Piana tworzy się niechętnie i szybko opada. Zapach: Wyraźna miodowa nuta utlenienia (data ważności do 19.12.2015), czekolada, lekka mleczność, karmel.
2.0 Draft at the source. Very dark brown with a creamy, tan head. Aroma is chocolate, ink, acids. Taste is bitter, full of ink, coffee and varnish. Finishes the same. Medium body. The only dud I had at the Porterhouse.
3.9 Bevuta alla spina. Colore nero con schiuma colore cappuccino. Aroma tostato, caramello.
3.2 Dark brown tan head. Old leather soaked in Ruby port dry as hell with a slightly tarte finish.
3.2 (draught) deep ruby colour with a creamy beige head. aroma of cherry skins, dried prunes and toasted malts, with a faint hint of herbal hops and wax. flavour is mostly bubble gum and peach yoghurt, slightly yeasty, with some notes of sugar icing and a lingering roasted-bitter finish. medium-bodied with soft carbonation.
3.7 On tap @ Pez Tortilla Black color, light beige head with good retention. Aroma has notes of coffee beans, licorice and roasted malts. Flavor is slightly bittery, notes of black chocolate and coffee are highly present. Roasty final with dense mouthfeel.
3.0 Botella 33 cl en el Artesana Oviedo 05..01..2018. (r528). Cuerpo ligero a medio algo seco y poca densidad. Normal.
3.1 Röstiger, weich herber Beginn. Süffig, steigende Intensität, holzig werdend. Cremig, langer Nachhall, gelungen. 12/9/10/9//9
3.7 Draft @ Porterhouse, Temple Bar. Pitch black with a beige head. Aroma of roasted malts, some dark chocolate, espresso and hops. Taste follows aroma plus tobacco. The hops are much more prominent in this one than in Porterhouse's other Stouts/Porters. Nice dry hoppy finish. Very balanced. Medium carbonation. A very lovely Stout.
Textura oleosa y ligeramente chispeante. Aroma a lúpulo, herbal, malta torrefacta. Postgusto bastante amargo.
4.0 Aroma: toast aroma, with some roasty hints and some chocolate Appearance: dark, with a tan head Taste: light sweetness Palate: medium body, with an oily texture and lively carbonation. It presents a long finish.
3.0 Bottle. Black color with beige head. Aroma is a touch butter, chocolate. Taste is buttery, earthy, roasted malts, very bitter finish. Silky mouthfeel with medium carbonation. Not for me.
3.8 Back log entry 330ml bottle thanks to sam. Pours out dark brown almost black topped with a small tan head. Nose is coffee chocolate which malts pit fruit. Taste is more of the coffee chocolate pit fruit a little Woody roast.
