3.4 0.5lt bottle in Münster. Clear amber with white consistent head. Caramel, ground malts, toffee aromas. Biscuit, caramel and some roasted malt taste. Slight hint of bitter at the end, very drinkable. Good value for money beer.
3.0 Aromat słód, karmel, chleb, zioła, chmiel. Barwa ciemny bursztyn, piana średniopęcherzykowa, dość obfita. W smaku słód, chleb, zioła, chmiel. Goryczka niska do średniej, wodniste.
4.0 Long before almost all breweries had to have their own craft-line including the one or the other Landbier, Pott's feature this as their Original. Aromatic, malty and slightly hoppy flavors.
3.7 Bottle from fancy grocery store under Sanyang metro in Wuxi, China (of all places). Labeled as "Prinzipalbrau" but everything else matches up. Pours deep amber with small beige head. Nose is very malty with light yeast--smells like baking bread- mildly fruity. Texture and body are light on the palate.Flavor is simple, but very good --again, bready with just the slightest hint of roasted malts, finishes with a very nice pinch of herbal hoppy bitterness. Very good stuff--I’ll go back to the store tomorrow and buy them out as we don’t see much of the really good smaller brewery German beer come out this way.
3.1 Amber color, small head. Aroma malt and caramel. Taste malt, caramel, herbs with some bitterness.
3.3 Bottle at piraten in Hamm. Cream White good mostly lasting head. Amber colour. Moderate Malty and light hoppy aroma. Moderate bitter dry Woody flavor with some caramel. Average moderate bitter finish. Oily palate.
3.6 3rd June 2017: mini tasting session with my wife. We had a bottle each of this (flip-top 33cl, different dates, but still fresh), brought them back from a recent German holiday. Pourede into our old ’Veltins’ stemmed tulip glasses. Red hue to the dark amber body, clean and clear: the head an off-affair. Caramel all the way here, the nose and flavour dominated by the sweetness. Slight bitterness from somewhere: liked it.
3.1 Sampled from 0.33 l bottle, best before August 2017. Clear, brownish amber with a medium large, foamy, stable, off-white head. Sweetish, malty aroma of caramel, nuts and some straw. Sweetish-malty, slightly grassy-spicy taste of caramel, nuts and some straw, followed by a short, moderately bitter, slightly grassy-spicy finish. Medium body, smooth and slightly effervescent mouthfeel, soft carbonation. Okay!
3.1 Bottle from Keller Meister, Lincoln. Rich reddish amber colour with a thin white head. Big malty caramel aroma, and long bitter taste. Medium body.
3.0 From bottle. Pours a slight hazy dark amber with a big, off white head. Aroma has toasted caramel malts, slight dusty yeast notes, very malty and heavy. Taste is fresher and lighter, but still with a toasty malty sweetness to it. Low bitterness, but some toasty dry notes to it. Light to medium body and an average to low carbonation.
3.8 Pours a dark amber to brown color with a fluffy, small head. Smells of hay, whole grain bread, dough, balanced toffee and a subtle, herbal hop note. Offers a very nice, soft, almost creamy mouthfeel, with a medium, well nuanced carbonation among a light bodied, refreshing beer. Tastes of rustic bread, toffee, grains, resinous with a dry hop leaf note. Aqueous during the midpalate with sweeter toffee, dried earth and a metallic, coppery hint from the uprising, lively carbonation. Finishes dry with an accompanying toffee sweetness, together with a walnut quality. Very nice, soft on the tongue with a rustic malt base and crisp, herbal hops, which especially shine in the finish.
