Prairie Apple Brandy Barrel Noir

Prairie Apple Brandy Barrel Noir

Apple Brandy Barrel Noir is an imperial stout we age in apple brandy barrels. The beer has major notes of chocolate, coffee, apple, and vanilla in the flavor and aroma. The stout is thick and slightly sweet, making for a smooth, slow sipping beer. Enjoy now, or lay a few down to try it with some age on it.

4.2 Barwa czarna, piany praktycznie brak. Aromat intensywny, dominuje beczka w postaci wanilii, suchego drewna, w tle suszone owoce i czekolada. W smaku piwo jest o wiele bogatsze, słodkie i mocno pralinkowe. Dużo czekolady z wanilią, słodkie kakao, niuasne palone. W tle suszone owoce, finisz lekko alkoholowy.
4.4 Finally trying this beer, thanks to my opening it. Aroma of apple pie, vanilla, brandy, oak, chocolate, spiced smooth booze. Almost black with tan head. Taste is moderate sweet, spiced, oak, vanilla, very smooth and balanced, coconut. Full body, smooth oily feel and vanilla spiced oak finish
Appeltjes, sherry, toffee, chocolade, barrel, rozijn, donker fruit. Prettige tinteling op het tandvlees. Héél lange warmende afdronk. Heel mooi alles in balans. Absolute topstout dit. Earlier Rating: 4/15/2018 Total Score: 4.9
4.0 A 12 fl. oz. bottle with a Julian bottled on date of 13316, meaning that it was bottled on 12th May 2016. Poured into a snifter glass. It was black in colour with a very thin tanned head that dissipated quickly and left pretty much no lacing. Aromas of apple brandy, caramel, chocolate, vanilla and a light whiff of alcohol. Tastes of sweet apple brandy, chocolate, fudge, vanilla, raisins, oak, caramel and toffee before ending with apple brandy once again. Rich, smooth, full bodied with low carbonation. Overall another great sipper from Prairie with wonderful aromas and nice taste. The apple brandy did make it almost too sweet for me, but this was kind of kept under control so long as I only sipped it slowly.
4.0 Bottle, shared round at Jeff’s. Darkest brown. No head. Nose has fudge and chocolate. Cocoa pops. Some sweet oak. Apple pie. Some treacle. Bonfire toffee. Taste is sticky sweet, and chocolatey, coffee bitter. Smooth and silky mouthfeel. Sweet and really chewy finish.
4.2 Pours thick black with thin, dark tan head. Aroma is apple, cocoa, coffee, roast and vanilla. Taste is dark chocolate and brown sugar, moving to vanilla and roast. Finish is vanilla, apple brandy and some roast. An outstanding, elite stout.
4.0 355ml bottle. Jet black colour with late awakening, small, thick, creamy, half-way lasting, moderately lacing, tan head. Chocolately, dark malty aroma, notes of dark chocolate, couverture, chocolate sauce, molasses, fruity hints of apple, calvados, some vanilla, a touch of roasted nuts. Taste is sweet-ish, chocolately dark malty, notes of dark chocolate, couverture, chocolate sauce, vanilla, hints of roasted nuts, apple, minimally alcoholic finish with hints of brandy, calvados; oily to viscous texture, smooth, soft, creamy, minimally sticky palate.
4.5 Complex aroma, smooth and sweet. A superb dessert beer. My favorite of all time hands down.
4.3 Flaska från Beergium, ca ett år gammal. Tusen tack Samuel214.

4.3 Doft: rödvin, ekfat, sprit/brandy, choklad, vanilj, fudge, caramel, Smak: choklad, vanilj, ekfat, rökigt, coca-cola, lättare än väntat men len och oljig, rik eftersmak, lite äppellikör, lite rödvin, mycket trevlig.
4.3 Tasted from bottle. Pours Black with almost no head. Aroma is brandy, caramel, cocoa, dark fruits. Thick chewy mouthfeel with a slight alcohol burn on the finish. Flavors of cocoa, toffee, caramel, vanilla, brandy, apple. Awesome sipping beer.
4.1 Bottle from Beergium, bought in January 2017. Black with a small tan head. Aroma and taste of roasted malt, chocolate, vanilla, oak and caramel. Smooth and nicely drinkable. Tasty.
4.0 Dark brown, cola like with no head. Aroma is oak, dried fruits, apple brandy, molasses, cinnamon, sweet, chocolate, fudge Taste is oak, barrel character, raisins, plums, cold brewed coffee, sweet apple brandy,
4.6 Pours black with no head. Almost no carbonation. Smells great, boozy, apple. Tastes full bodied, apple, caramel. oak. Amazing beer.
4.3 Ależ to pachnie, lody kakaowe połączone z szarlotką. W smaku ogromnie dużo kakao i pralinek, wykończenie raczej agresywne.
4.6 Bottle. Black with zero head. Stunning aroma - dark ripe fruits, apples, vanilla, oak, liquor. Taste is brandy barrel, raisins, caramel, chocolate, ripe apples, vanilla. Like a mix of imp stout with barley wine, relly great.
4.0 355ml bottle. Pours dark brown colour. No head. Toffee, dried apples, notes of vanilla, raisins, notes of berries and calvados, cocoa or chocolate as well in the aroma. Notes of vanilla, spicy notes, cocoa, slight notes of alcochol, notes of calvados. Raisins. Slight notes of milk chocolate in the taste. Slightly spicy finish. Chocolate and calvados in the aftertaste. Rather heavy bodied, moderately carbonated, beautiful beer.
4.3 Shared at the Prairie Everything Dark/Kill Your Liver Extravaganza at Jeff’s House on July 1. 12 oz bottle. The pour is a nice heavy black with a thin dark brown ring of head that vanishes quickly without any lace. The aroma is just lovely. There is a heavy apple brandy up front with a sweeter oak and a lovely roasted chocolate. The roasted malts add a layer of depth above a vanilla addition. This is complex, deep, and surprisingly boozy. The flavor is better. The alcohol just vanishes and leaves this easy drinking monster. Apple brandy, chocolate, vanilla, oak, malts, all just balance out beautifully. The mouth feel is a thicker medium body with a soft carbonation and a lingeringly sweet chocolate and apple brandy. This is just lovely. 8 5 9 4 17
4.4 Bottle at home. Black color, brown head. Fantastic aroma has apple, brandy, vanilla, chocolate. Balanced taste, chocolate, vanilla, hint of brandy, coffee notes, roasted malts.

Overall, it’s pretty damn tasty.
4.4 A: Dark brown coloured, thin light brown lacing N: Brandy, toffee, vanilla fudge T: Toffee, caramel, brandy O: Very nice and clean flavours. Super nice!
4.6 Aroma is chocolate, cocoa, some coffee, little bit of earth, pretty sweet, some alcohol, cherry candy, biscuit, lots of vanilla. Spectacular. Oily black color, no head. Taste is fruity, lots of chocolate, vanilla, some sweetness with cocoa bitter finish. Medium to full body, extremely flat carbonation, creamy. Divine.
Dopiero później czekolada, owoce w czekoladzie, kakao. Ogólnie więcej niż przyjemny, jednak brakuje tu trochę tego RIS-a i alkohol po chwili nieco zbyt intensywny. Wygląd: barwa czarna, nieprzejrzysta, niestety znikoma i niezbyt trwała pina w kolorze beżowym. Raczej gęsta, oleista konsystencja. Smak: dosyć duża słodycz, czekolada mleczna i gorzka, kakao, chleb, karmel, toffi. Następnie wkraczają akcenty beczkowe - wanilia, cała gama owoców, alkohol i lekka kwaskowość.
4.3 355 ml bottle (thx, Nick M.!). Pours a very dark brown with a dark beige head. Aroma is amazing with cocoa and chocolate notes. Taste is moderate to high sweet with chocolate, barrel and apple notes. Same aftertaste. Amazing product, despite I would prefer more body and less sweetness in it.
4.7 Aroma full of chocolate and vanilla with amazing note of baked red ripe apple. Strong with lots of complexity. Taste is complimenting aroma really well and following it up in great manner. Loads of chocolate and sweetness with notes of apple doing great work in the background and not overwhelming the beer. Lovely stuff.
4.6 Butelka. Wspaniały intesywny aromat beczki, wanilia, czekolada, ciemnych owocow, toffi. W smaku podobnie tylko z większą intensywnością. Wspaniale aromaty beczki, drewno, owoce. Zerowe wysycenie i goryczka. Konsystencja oleista. Mega pijalne. Świetne piwo, genialne smaku, super ułożone. Deser:)
4.5 341ml bottle from trade, shared with brother. Aroma: nice aroma of apples, black chocolate, vanilla and alcohol. Amazing smell. App: dark burgundy, minimal brown head, little lacing. Taste and palate: full body, high sweetness but still liquoreux a lot, lots of apples and chocolate, light acidity finish. Overall: amazing beer! This is so complex. The mouthfeel is just out of this world. I could drink this beer every winter day or every rainy day.
4.6 backlog ocena przepisana z untapped w ramach uzupełnienia profilu. Najlepsze piwo Prairie jakie piłem - kosmiczne nagromadzenia wanilii, kokosów i szlachetnego destylatu z sadem z jabłkami przy całej niesamowicie gęstej i oleistej fakturze. Masterpiece!
