Prairie Birthday Bomb!

Prairie Birthday Bomb!

Birthday Bomb! was conceived to celebrate three wonderful years of experimentation and fun loving flavors like the current incarnation with caramel sauce. Made in house by our brewers with nothing but black gloves and a propane tank. The rest is the complex mix of hops and malt with a healthy dose of the signature coffee and spices. You know exactly what we’re talking about.

4.0 Pours brown but nearly black like licorice juice. Head is slow to form and fades before it really gets started. A quiet beer. Aroma is caramel, cocoa, coffee malt. Sweet. Amazingly rich flavors that roll through a sip. Caramel, baked chocolate, coffee, only a hint of pepper but it’s there. Toffee runs through it. A touch of ash and bitterness to close. Moderate viscosity and cloying. Mouthfeel is not memorable, but this is a flavor bomb!
4.2 Bottle. Aroma- like in a bakery. Sweet caramel, a lot of vanilla, deep cocoa notes and some coffee in the background. Black, unclear with almost no head. Taste- more coffee, still strong cocoa, barely noticeable chili peppers spiciness. Not so sweet, vanilla and caramel are hidden. Cocoa and coffee play the main role. Well balanced roasty bitterness in the aftertaste. Medium bodied, with a minimal carbonation. Absolutely complete Imperial Stout, I'm astonished.
4.1 Aromat intensywny, kakao i kawa najwyraźniej, dalej papryczki, trochę karmel i wanilia w tle. W smaku paloną kawa, czekolada i karmel.
4.0 Lovely stuff! Loads of coffee and chocolate. Then vanilla sweetness and a little kick from the chillies.
4.1 On draft at Churchkey. Pours black with a tan head. Aromas of double chocolate cake. Flavors are bittersweet dark chocolate. Smooth and tasty.
4.2 Flavoured imperial stout by Prairie in Oklahoma, one of the many Bomb variants; from a bottle at Bar Beenhouwer, thanks Meeki Meekio! Thin and open, mocha-beige ring on a pitch black beer with only about one millimeter of hazy 'burgundiness' at the edges. Intense, alcohol-propelled, desserty bouquet: hot chocolate sauce, vanilla cream, cognac, hazelnut paste, fudge, dried red chili peppers, coffee liqueur and cappuccino, candied figs, espresso, cashew nuts, touch liquorish. Dense, sweet onset, candied dates and raisins, very thin umami edge, softish carb with very full, oily, rather viscous mouthfeel; deep toffeeish, pecan-nutty and chocolatey, multi-layered middle, cocoa nibs, vanilla beans and coffee all constructing one dense structure of intense and lovely bittersweetness highlighted by peppery notes and a warm, cognac-like afterglow with lingering roastiness and 'chocolateyness' as well as some retronasal vanilla. As intense as other Bombs, I actually had this one after the barrel aged version but they are each others equals in both force and beauty. I will be very happy if I'm given one of these on my birthday...
3.7 Keg at Craft Beer Company, Islington. Near black. Aroma of tonka, caramel, coffee and vanilla. Big body. Fairly sweet. Don’t really get any chilli.
4.3 Dark brown rocky head quickly left an oily liquorice coloured still body. Big boozy aroma with aniseed, chilli, coffee hints & malt. Full bodied, smooth, oily & greasy with lighter clean back. Dark chocolate, raisin, berry, milk chocolate, vanilla, liquorice, syrup & lactose tastes.
Toffi i karmel niewyczuwalne. Słodkie, kawowe, czekoladowe, deserowe. Ciała mogłoby być zdecydowanie więcej. Alkohol wzorowo ukryty (to akurat wersja 12%).
5.0 Pours BMW black almost absorbs light. Carmel, vanilla slight taste of chili. Coffee nibs. After taste is smooth Comes in strong leaves smooth
4.0 Black pour, foamy brown head. Chocolate, toffee, caramel, nuts, vanilla, cacao, oak, and a hint of pepper. Really nice!
4.3 Sysimusta lasissa beigellä vaahdolla. Tuoksu on vahvan kahvinen, suklainen, vaniljainen ja paahteisen maltainen. Suutuntuma on tymäkkä.
4.1 Pours beautifully! Dark as night but I love the dark tan head, looks like a thin layer of ice cream on top. Nose is coffee, cocoa, lacto, charred wood. A tad slicker than I'd like on the tongue but the way it rolls back and exposes the dark roast and chocolate is nice, all the while with a spicy edge. Some dark overripe fruits up in there too... Very good. Not sure how they squeeze 13% into this either, I get almost no astringency out of the deal.
4.2 Dark fruit and light tartness in the aroma. Deep black pour with a thick, creamy caramel head. Aroma of caramel, coffee, roast, toast, dried grass. Flavor is roast, coffee, burnt sugar, dark toffee, roasted nuts, toasty wood, Heavy body, slick, syrupy feel, light, sharp carbonation. Good stuff.
3.3 Hey black served out of 12 oz bottle. Head is thin. Body finishes creamy and smooth. Bold chocolate notes with a finish of light heat.
4.1 Dark pour. Small amount of foam. Chocolate, vanilla, rum, chili, taste. Chocolate vanilla chili palate
4.5 Soot, espresso, wormwood, cocoa, soil nose. Black, medium brown head, legs. Chocolate syrup, espresso, prune. Full body, easy carbonation.
4.0 Bottle from Glasbanken 2019-08-06 Göteborg AR: rich fruity coffee, AP: black, wee beige head F: heavy roasted and fruity coffee, Sark chocolate,
4.1 Opaque black color with small tanned head. Aroma has caramel, coffee, dark chocolate, vanilla and ripe fruits. Taste is malty sweet with long sweet aftertaste. Flavors of vanilla, dark malt, chili, coffee, dark chocolate and ripe fruits.
4.4 Coffee, chocolate and caramel on the nose. Dark brown pour and brown head. Taste is dark chocolate, chili spice, mild coffee, burnt caramel, toffee. Little more bitterness than the original. Not as balanced but that's more of a testament to how good the regular bomb is!
3.7 Botella. Black colour. Medium fairly well lasting light brown head. Aroma is sweet with roasted malt, dark chocolate and dark fruits, coffee and vanilla. Good palate. Flavour is very sweet but soft with roasted malt and dark fruits, chocolate, vanilla, coffee, wood and alcohol. Well balanced. Heavy duty brew.
4.1 Had a sample at WOBFest 2019. Smells really sweet, tastes really sweet. Really unique - caramel is the strongest flavor, but also has some espresso and various spices. Kind of like cake and ice cream in a bottle.
4.5 2016 > 2017 pite jakiś czas temu. uzupełnienie profilu. Ocena przepisana z utpd. Miłego dnia.

4.1 13/IV/19 - on tap, shared @ Zeezicht (Breda, NL), post Prison Escape lunch, BB: n/a - (2019-470) Clear dark brown to black beer, practically no head. Aroma: very roasted, coffee, bit dirty, alcohol, vanilla notes, cocoa powder, some charcoal. MF: ok carbon, medium to full body. Taste: lots of alcohol, very roasted, coffee, more cocoa powder, very bitter, some caramel, more alcohol. Aftertaste: malty, lots of alcohol, nice roast, chocolate, good one!
4.8 355ml bottle pours the all-familiar jet black of many imperial stouts. Lightly carbonated. Rich nose of vanilla and caramel chocolate, very, very slightly lacking. Creamy, moderately viscous on the palate. Sweet, slightly hoppy and solid backbone. Slightly spicy from the chillis. Marvellous stuff indeed.
