Prairie Bomb!

Prairie Bomb!

Bomb! is an imperial stout aged on espresso beans, chocolate, vanilla beans, and ancho chile peppers. All the flavors meld to create a truly unique beer. The peppers add just the right amount of heat to compliment the intense coffee and chocolate flavors.

5.0 Sooooo good! Love this beer with a fried Oreo or chocolate dessert!!
4.1 (Bottle) Dark brown colour, almost black, with brief beige head. Malty, roasted nose with notes of milky chocolate, cacao, vanilla, toffee, coffee and hints of peppers. Malty, roasted taste with cacao, vanilla, coffee, toffee and a mild chilli heat in a finish with a gentle cacao bitterness. Medium body, quite sweet. Really nice, with a good mix of flavours from cacao, vanilla and chilli. Great balance. Very nice.
4.4 Czarne, nieprzejrzyste, piana brązowa, niestety dość głośna i szybko redukuje do obrączki. Potem kakao, czekolada deserowa i nuta wanilii. Nasycenie niskie. Piwo jest ułożone, a rozgrzewanie alkoholu jest dodatkowo zamaskowane pikanterią.
4.3 12oz bottle from Royal Wine in San Jose near Santana Row. Deep thick dark with low foam. Quite a bit of alcohol warmth, but lightly hidden under layers of sweetness. Vanilla nicely emulates barrel aging. Caramel and mellow roasted malts. Delicious.
4.5 Very dark brown pour with a thin mocha colored layer. Vanilla, booze, fudge, dark roasted malts, red forest fruits, burnt sugar, coffee grounds for aroma. Over medium sweet, medium bitter with a hint of an acidic finish. Over medium body with soft fizz. Without a doubt this a very well made beer. Balanced, smooth, fulfilling and the chili warmth is just perfect for this holiday season.
4.0 From the 12 fl. oz. bottle dated 01/06/2020. Deep dark brown to black pour with modest dark head. More chocolate and vanilla is evident than coffee in the aroma. Medium to full body. The taste is sweet and full of chocolate. Booze is slightly elevated in the taste but it warms at the end.
4.5 Musta lasissa nopeasti katoavalla vaahdolla. Tuoksu lyö luun kurkkuun vahvalla kaakaolla, suklaalla ja lakritsalla. Suutuntuma on uskomattoman vahva ja täyteläinen. Maussa löytyy kaakaota, kahvia, lakritsaa ja hieman tuhkaa. Loistava esitys kaikkiaan.
4.2 Keg at Craft Beer Company, Clerkenwell. Black with a tan head. Aroma is super complex and well balanced. Coffee, dark chocolate, hazelnut, cacao and real vanilla. So bloody drinkable for the ABV. It’s really moreish. Not actually that thick for the style and strength, but not thin. Nice balance of bitter sweetness.
3.6 08.08.2020: From tap at OnTap, Bern, shared with Werckmeister. Nearly black dark red-brown color with a tan colored head. The aroma is full with loads of green coffee, coffee beans, nuts, toffee and a distinct green herbal touch. Full body with a medium to medium-heavy sweetness, a light to medium roasty bitterness and some alcohol. Flavor of sweet roasted malt, molasses, chocolate, and lots of coffee, green coffee, distinct burnt notes and alcohol. Finishes with some residual sweetness, a light roasty bitterness, coffee and a warming feeling. Overall not very harmonious with overly distinct green coffee notes. Aroma: 8 Appearance: 4 Taste: 7 Palate: 4 Overall: 13
4.2 Oily black with no head. Smell of coffee and dark chocolate. In taste everything advertised is there: Chocolate, coffee, vanilla and a liitle chili. Nice drink.
3.3 Oily black pour with very thin brown cocoa head. Aroma is light with sone vanilla ice cream qualities as well as iron and dark fruits. Low carbonation, oily mouthfeel, dry finish. Flavor has some oaky vanilla, dark robust bitter chocolate and coffee blend nicely, more dark fruits, Chile pepper heat and taste. Nice complex stout.
5.0 Amazing stout. Reminds me of Stone's Xocoveza 5/5
4.1 [Tasting - Hasle, Aarhus] Aroma: Moderately sweet, coffee, cocoa, chili peppers, vanilla, bourbon and roasted malt Appearance: Pitch black with small mostly lasting creamy brown head Taste: Moderately sweet and bitter, bourbon, cocoa, coffee, vanilla, chili peppers and slight alcohol Mouthfeel: Creamy mouthfeel with soft-no carbonation Overall: Really nice imperial stout :)
4.2 12oz bottle from Windsor Hy-Vee, in a Sam Smith pint glass. Aromas of milk chocolate, malted milk balls, weathered wood, medium-roast coffee, sweetened condensed milk, caramel, vanilla, cinnamon and nutmeg. Pours oily black with one finger of creamy chocolate head and a few bubbles scattered over the glass that sticks to the glass in a sheet. Light and creamy on the entry with caramel and light roast on the mid-palate and a long creamy and roasty finish with a belly warming heat as the 13% ABV splashes down. Full-bodied, slick and sticky, surprisingly light and easy to drink. Very good, but at just under $1/oz it's so pricey in my neck of the woods and I have put off trying it for years for that very reason. I won't indulge this one too often, but I see why people talk about it.
Smak to kawowa bomba. Alkohol perfekcyjnie schowany, jedynie delikatnie rozgrzewa przełyk. Wysycenie niskie. Dużo ciała, tekstura płynu jest gęsta, tłusta i lepka. Posmak kawowy, czekoladowy z wyraźną ostrością pieprzu.
4.4 This beer is out of this world!!! If you like stout beers this is the one you have been looking for! Very heavy espresso flavor with chocolate and chili peppers beans. This is as good as it gets for all of you stout lovers out there. Enjoy!
2.9 Black-bodied with a cocoa head. This one has an espresso, cocoa nib, and acrid roasty nose, along with some vegetal notes. On the body this one has a strong vegetal coffee character, as from overwashed coffee beans. Acrid, vegetal finish with a touch of tinnyness. Decent mouthfeel, with a certain luxuriousness to it, but the acrid and vegetal notes detract.
4.2 Chokladdoft. Choklad och lite kaffesmak. Lite hetta och perfekt beska.
4.2 Appearance: Pours opaque deep brown to black with a creamy tan head, with lacing. 5/5 Aroma: Chile pepper, coffee, cocoa, vanilla, cinnamon, caramel and toasted malt. 8/10 Taste: Savory coffee chocolately with spices, heavy sweetness balanced with bitterness and subtle burning, finish is bittersweet savory with coffee and chocolate. 8/10 Mouthfeel: Full bodied, mild carbonated. Oily sticky texture. 5/5 Overall Extra chile heat was minimal. Balanced and complex. 16/20
4.3 Bottle from Brewers Haven. I've kept missing this one, until now. Black, slick pour, spotty beige head. Light coffee aroma, roast malts, mildly sweet. Taste features all of the notes of the aroma, with the adjuncts highlighting additional flavors, cacao, vanilla. Chili faint but apparent. Smooth, mild burn.
3.9 Tap(4Hops, Wrocław) Ciemne z niewielką pianą. W aromacie bardzo wyraźna czekolada. W smaku czekolada słabsza, pojawiają się praliny. Pije się przyjemnie, bardzo dobre piwo.
3.8 Poured a deep, opaque black with a 1-finger dark tan head that was gone quickly. Aroma is predominantly coffee and cocoa, with just a trace of the chilis showing. Full-bodied and thick. Finish is long, but surprisingly mild. The ABV is very well hidden. The flavors of the coffee and cocoa are the most notable components, with a touch of heat from the chilis mixed in. The vanilla shows lightly at the back. Very good.
4.4 What a huge harmony in mouth. Dominated espresso taste with perfect mixture of cacao, vanilla aromas and chili paper at the end. Like a glass of molasses with an espresso shot:)
1.0 Tastes of coffee. I don't taste chilis etc.
3.7 Pitch black coloured body with a very small, and super fast-dying rich brown head, that starts at barely a centimetre tall, but fades to nothing, just after a few seconds - that I was quite surprised with. Aroma of rich anise, roasted malt, coffee, earth, nuts, fennel seed and a bit more astringency with the spices and roasted malt beating out the coffee in terms of the most dominate scents. Full-bodied; Rich coffee and roasted malt flavours show through everything else, but leave some sugars and caramel notes around the edges, with a lot of the other flavours being spice-based, which are quite potent and very strong, but the roasts and coffee notes dominate here. Aftertaste is rich, but a touch thin, perhaps due to the longer age, but this was evena bit thin for that, with a lot of roasted malts, bunches of coffee still and a noticeable amount of pure deeper chocolate notes (around 65% cacaO). Overall, a rich and very deep flavour throughout with a lot less alcohol than expected (due to the > 5 year aging, most likely) with a lot of roasted notes, some nuts and a pungent, but pleasant amount of coffee as well. I sampled this stubby, twelve ounce bottle purchased from The Proper Pour in Denver (@The Source), Colorado on 07-June-2014 for US$12,00 sampled at home in Washington on 08-December-2019, one day more than 5.5 years worth of aging, just after purchase alone. Nice to sample, and while this aged pretty well - there was a taste of maybe 7-8% abv here, it did thin out (as typical) quite a bit and the flavours were smooth, but still showing a lot of bitterness from the malts.
4.8 Bomb! has a thin, tan head, a very dark brown appearance, and minimal glass lacing. The aroma is of hot chili peppers, dark malt and coffee. The flavor does not really evidence pepper, however. I detected dark malt, sugar, coffee, & cocoa. No vanilla. Mouthfeel is medium to heavy, and Bomb! finishes just on the sweet side. RJT
3.9 Pours deep brown with a cinnamon brown fast-fading head. Richly viscous. Aroma is brown sugar, chocolate malt and chilies. Taste follows with notes of coffee and vanilla. Mild warming booze out the back. Slick mouthfeel - not cloying; low carbonation. Complex mix of flavors with very well-integrated chili. Outstanding flavor, but a bit flat and kind of a short aftertaste.
4.1 Dark brown nearly black with minimal tan head. Aroma not so strong but flavors on the palate are potent chocolate with some lingering roasted malt and hop bitterness. Lengthy bitter finish
