Prairie 'Merica

Prairie 'Merica

‘Merica is a single malt, single hop farmhouse ale. It’s brewed with floor malted pilsner and 3lbs per bbl Nelson Sauvin hops. The beer is conditioned with 2 brett strains and wine yeast. The Nelson hops provide white wine flavors while Brettanomyces add a juicy quality to the beer.

3.6 Hay, lemon, grass. Oily body, some small bub bub carbo. Not a beginner's brett!
3.6 500ml bottle. Pours bright yellow. Pineapple, mango, guava, hay, lots of funk, quite acidic in the finish. Spritzy body. Very nice.

3.6 Bottle: Poured a hazy white yellow with white head. Aroma is funky barnyard. Taste is funky yeasty and hoppy.
3.8 Bottle from Yes! 7-30-17 Previously at 3.9 Bottle from Small Batch 4-16-15
4.0 Pale wheat blonde, lots of carbonation in the glass. Aroma is green apple, grass, dough. Taste is funky, tart apple, clean intense yeast flavor with a lot of grassy hops bitterness. Finishes long and dry. Imagine champagne made from Granny Smith apples.
3.4 Farmhouse funk, green apple aroma. Clear amber, huge head. Grass, funk. Light body, easy carbonation.
3.9 12oz bottle. Gold with medium white head. Tart nose. Taste is well balanced tartness and spice and sweetness. Like a bier de garde mixed with a saison mixed with a sour. I liked it.
3.0 Well balanced beer. Nice soft, pillowy mouthfeel. I love funky beers but this has that Brett strain that is just too barnyardy/ sweaty horse's saddle. More weird and confronting than complex and refreshing. A lot of better beers for this price
3.6 12oz bottle poured into Belgian snifter glass while starting the family reunion weekend at Jackpot Junction. Pour is a hazy, yellow golden color. Almost like a straw or hay coloring. Healthy off white head. Nose is assertive yeasty, funk. There is an almost wine like aroma with just a gentle hint of citrus. Taste is proudly proclaiming its funky intentions as a traditional farmhouse ale. Plenty of that slightly sour, tarty, funky quality you expect from this type of style. Light citrus bitterness that especially makes its presence felt towards the finish of the sip. Relatively thin but heavily drying mouthfeel. Not necessarily my favorite style but I can definitely appreciate the quality.
3.6 500ml bottle. Brett funk aroma with notes of vinous white wine, hay and a bit of citrus. Pours pale clear golden colored with one finger of off white head that has excellent retention and some lacing. Starts with hay and white wine flavors with funk in the background. Finishes very dry with Brett funk coming to the forefront with a touch of citrus to balance. Pretty nice saison.
4.1 Bottle. Moderate grain and hay for the malt, moderate to heavy herbs for the hops, moderate dried leaves and dough for the yeast, with notes juicy fruit gum, ginger and a mix of spices. Head is average sized, frothy/creamy, slightly off-white, with good yet slippery lacing, and is mostly diminishing. Color is murky light amber. Flavor starts slightly sweet and lightly to moderately acidic, then finishes lightly to moderately acidic and slightly bitter. Palate is medium, slick, with a fizzy carbonation. Super Saison with a lot going on in the flavor and aroma.
4.0 Bottle. Golden pour. Aroma of tart, citrus, horseblanket, grapefruit, white grape and funky barnyard. Taste has funky horseblanket, tart, grapefruit, citrusy white grape, hops and a long bretty dry finish. Very good. Merica!
3.4 Sampled on draft this beer poured a hazy golden amber color with a large fluffy yellow-white head that lingered and left decent lacing. The aroma was brett, bubblegum, perfume, black pepper and mustiness. The flavor was dryish with notes of band aid, bubblegum. brett, perfume, yeast and mustiness. Very long finish. Moderately full bodied. Ok.
3.9 Winelike, lightly sour, and full of fruit. Lots of apricot, plum, berry and cherry. Dry finish. Elegant stuff.
4.0 500 ml bottle shared by DCLawyer, thanks Jason! Mostly clear golden yellow with off-white head. Aromas of herbs, citrus, floral notes. Tastes of citrus, herbs, floral notes. Medium body with a dry finish. Good.
3.0 Bottle from AJ’s Beer Warehouse. Aroma of wine yeast, spice, basement aromas, and hops.
4.2 Pretty yummy. A ligt8sour and funk that gets stronger as you get deeper into the bottle. Tasty but pricey.
3.9 Rami Rami is drinking a ’Merica by Prairie Artisan Ales at BrewDog Warszawa Bardzo dzikie tak sianowato az aptecznie, to mega dominuje. Lekkie jasne owoce i kwiatki... slodkie. pyszka
4.4 Hazy golden hue with a foamy thick white head. Wonderful nose of funky brett and light grainy bready farmhouse notes, a touch of white grape and lemon peel and a kiss of guava. Bright crisp flavor thats full and super complex, with notes of meyer lemon and funky Belgian brett tones, juicy white grape and white wine funk, and a earthy funky tropical finish. Dryish but tropical and white grape juicy with lots of funk thats not too Drei.
3.6 A strong saison. Well balanced. Sweet body, a little funky. Some yeast and Brett.
4.1 B-. Pours a murky golden color with white head. Unique flavors brought out by the wine yeast.
3.5 Draft at Bru Craft. Cloudy yellow pour with an overflow of white foam. Chalky, lemony brew. Peach. Apricot. Lemon verbena. Talc. Wild floral sour notes. Pils malts underneath. Sorta works.
4.3 Can’t get any more Merica then this! Okay, well, maybe. Pours nice yellow with a nice foamy white head. Has a nice tropical hoppy taste. Very good, will def get it again.
1.6 Draught at Ginger Man Boston, 3/31/17. Lightly hazy, bright brass-golden body shows a large, expansive, foamy, white head. Strong, strong, strong Brett in the nose seems very overworked and gives off both perfume and heavy bready-twang. Some light soap and almost approaching bile-like acidity. Spongecake and honey-like malts behind it do little to impede the trainwreck. The flavor is even more difficult to take. Near-instantaneous palate fatigue with massively bready, bath soap and sourdough character from the Brett as well as heavy, peppery, overcarbonation. Ends with powdered sugar and perfume. Ordered a full beer and left almost all of it sitting there as I left, which I almost never do.
3.9 Draught @ Fermentoren, Aarhus. Pours slightly hazy light golden with a white head. Aroma of light malt, yeast, rich bretty, hay, tart fruit, grapes, light tart citrus. Flavor is light tart, malt, bretty, hay, tart fruit, green grapes, white wine, light bitter citrus. Medium body, average carbonation, dry and lasting bitter finish. 290417m
3.8 Farmhouse, citrus fruits, grapefruit, bitter lemon, floral hops. Slightly hazy, pale gold, tiny, creamy, white head. Light bitter. More farmhouse, straw, grain malts, citrus fruits, bitter lemon peel, lime juice, soft carbonation, medium bodied, dry and bitter finish. Very nice Saison, intense but well-balanced. Keg at The Bottle Shop, Bermondsey.
5.0 Very good beer with Pizza. It’s light and not overwhelming. This is a great beer for those transitioning from wine to beer and vice versa
2.7 Pours a hazy golden color with a straw aroma. Taste is malty, with biscuit notes and a slight funk overall. Hoppy aftertaste with some slight bitterness.
3.7 Damn, I feel patriotic drinking this. ’Merica! Hazy gold with lots of head. Yeast, tropical fruit, just a hint of funk.
