Prairie Paradise

Prairie Paradise

Coconut Vanilla Stout. It’s about to get really hot outside. How about a cold glass of refreshing Imperial Stout. Yep, you heard that right. Brand new to our line up is Prairie Paradise. We took a stout, gave it a hint of vanilla and a good deal of toasted coconut and created one season defying, genre bending brew. Imperial stouts are usually thought of as a cold weather beer, but here the coconut and vanilla blend push the image of the stout into a year round, all season style. Prairie Paradise will be available exclusively on tap and in kegs.

3.2 On tap at Broken Dreams. Blackish with tan head. Heavy coconut notes, roasted malts, sweet malts, alcohol and vanilla
3.7 Bottle from Beergium. Pours black color with small head. Nose is heavy coconut, vanilla, sweetness, roasted malts, alcohol and chocolate. Taste is quite heavily infused from coconut, with roasted malts and other sweetness in the background. Sweet aftertaste.
3.9 355 ml bottle at home. Pours a very dark mahogany with a light brown head. Aroma of sweet roasted malt, chocolate, coconut, vanilla and rum. Full body with a medium sweetness, a light bitterness and some booze. The flavor is similar to the smell with lots of coconut, vanilla, chocolate - reminds me again of rum - some alcohol and sugar followed by more roasted notes of cocoa and some coffee. Finishes with a light roasty bitterness and more toasted coconut. Overall with distinct coconut notes but apart of that a bit thin on the flavors. Aroma: 8 Appearance: 4 Taste: 8 Palate: 4 Overall: 15
3.9 Botella de 35,5 cl. Fecha de embotellado 28/03/2019. Color negro con poca espuma, carbonatación baja. Aroma a café, cacao, coco, vainilla. Sabor también a cacao, café, vainilla, coco. Cuerpo medio/alto, un poco dulce pero equilibrada, muy rica, no se nota el alcohol, gran imperial stout.
4.0 Black body small beige head. Aroma is bourbon, vanille. Taste is vanilla, coffee, icy sugar. Sweet, sugar finish. Medium body soft carbonation oily texture.
4.2 Taster pour from a bottle at Powder Keg Beer & Chili Festival. Appearance is opaque black with thin cap of light brown head, no discernible sparkle, a few light floaties. Aroma is chocolatey, nice roasted malt, cream, light cherry/dark fruit. Taste is almost like chocolate syrup--really good. Roasted malt, little dark fruit, mild alcohol heat. Mouthfeel is medium bodied with thick, smooth texture, average carbonation and finish as taste. Overall, smooth, decadent and very good though didn't get the coconut. 4.2
3.9 Canette 355ml. Carbonatation faible, corps dense.
4.4 Svart med lys brunt skum. Lukter kakedeig, mørk sjokolade, engelsk lakris og eik. Fyldig. Søt, noe bitter mørk sjokolade. Engelsk lakris, noe salt, kaffe og noe kokos.
4.1 On tap at 12.1%, it's black with a brown tinge and just a wisp of a tan crema. Aromas of red fruit and bell peppers, bourbon-vanilla and chocolate. Smooth and sweet, more woody vanilla and chocolate, generous notes of bourbon, a warming alcohol note and a touch of liquorice on the finish. Delicious, and hard to believe it's 12%!
3.5 The Aromas are dark malt, roast with a little vanilla and a hint of coconut. Flavors are similar to nose, with vanilla coming out a little more and coconut almost non-existent. Sweet up front with roasty and black patent malt bitter towards the end. Good beer but not as good as I had hoped.
3.7 Black. Intense brown head, three fingers, good retention. Difficult to see the carbonation through the darkness. Creamy texture at first, then oilier, no fizz. Aroma is chocolate, roasted malts, molasses, hints of coffee, vanilla, little bit of alcohol. Taste is chocolate, hints of vanilla, hints of coconut and marshmallow -but pretty non existent-, roasted malts, molasses, liquor at the end. Sweet with bittersweet finish and some alcohol that stays in mouth for a while. Good, but not outstanding. The coconut and the vanilla should shine more. Maybe there's a bit of alcohol at the finish. But we're talking about a beer of 13%... Enjoyable and tasty, although the price is absurd.
4.1 Taste: smooth, sweet, vanilla, toasted coconut, chocolate malt, sticky molasses mouthfeel, some boozy notes. Same with the nose. Black, opaque, tan head, delicate lace. Full but not heavy body. Good dessert ale with kick.
3.9 Smells of toasted coconut, dark chocolate, and booze. Black motor oil. Taste is coconut, chocolate, vanilla, coffee beans, boozy.
4.5 Poured from 12 oz bottle into schooner glass. A thin light brown head drops quickly with no lacing. Color is dark brown/black, plenty of carbonation. Rich aroma of cocoa, chocolate, vanilla, nuts. Mouthfeel is thick and creamy with warming alcohol in the slow drying finish. Flavors of vanilla, coconut, chocolate, dark fruit, earthy hops. Overall: excellent imperial stout.
4.3 Bullets. Chocolate Bullets. On the nose. On the palate. On the finish. Incredibly lovely but that is all there is.
3.8 Bottleshare: pours black with a small beige head. Aroma is loads of vanilla and coconut and chocolate. Taste is somewhat sweet. Hints of coconut. Nice aftertaste. Large.
4.2 nicely blended full flavored and full bodied stout made right and then infused generously and well with coconut, vanilla and fudge. big alcohol hidden, just a delicious flavored stout. and that ain't easy.
3.8 Mikołaj Rutkowski is drinking a Prairie Paradise by Prairie Artisan Ales at Morze Piwa
3.8 355ml can@home, private import. Aroma: lots of vanilla, some, coconuts, alcohol, chocolate. Maybe a tad smokey. App: pitch black with small frothy brown head, great lacing. Taste and palate: full body, medium sweetness, moderate bitter and alcohol burning finish. Overall: enjoyed it despites my low expectations. A good non-BA imperial stout. Easy to drink despite its high abv. Good stuff.
4.4 Almost black. Opaque. Small tan head. Nose: dark malts, fruit esters, subtle coconut, vanilla, vinous. Medium to full body. Taste: lots of malts, fruity esters, dried fruit. Just a hint of coconut. Light bitterness. Great balance. A lot of pleasure.
3.9 On tap at Wexford Pub. Dark brown with nice lacing and some head. Notable for its smoothness, a little alcoholic but quite drinkable.
4.1 Can from private import thx Alex A: licorice, roasty, vanilla, dark chocolate, alcohol App: pitch black smallish beige head t/p: full body with sweet finish of average duration. Velvety. O: Nice one. Complex and rich. It's not too sweet but this could replace a desert anytime.
4.2 35,5 cl can. Pours a moderate creamy but not very dense dark brown head, black and impenetrable appearance. Aroma is chocolate cake, amarena cherry (candied dark cherries), some light spices like coconut and cinnamon, definitely hints of banana bread; you can eat without the mouth. Tastes again goes behind the notes of the aroma and even further, dark fruits and berries, sweet and delicate dark chocolate, nuts, raisins, hints of Nutella. Creamy and milkshake like texture, dense and very full bodied, not sticky and oily at all, long aftertaste. Medium plus sweetness, medium and very smooth bitterness. Balance is where this beer actually wins, it’s rich, tasty and dessert like, but never tiring and cloying, the roastiness it’s just pefect. Second best feature are all the fruity-cherry notes and vibes, not easy to find; coconut is absolutely not invasive compared to most other brews I’ve had. No bite from hops, not much vegetables and umami; alcohol mouthfeel is very well hidden, and it drinks exceptionally well. I highly recommend this!
Ogólnie lekki zawód, i zaledwie dobre piwo.
3.7 355 ml bottle bought via Ztore. Looks: Opaque deep soy sauce blackish brown colour; Less than one-quarter finger head with residual soapy dark beige foam which fades in 10 seconds; Fair sticky lacing with zero carbonation. Aroma: Very fragrant full dark malt, with strong roastyness, strong vanilla, strong caramel, sticky toffee, strong pleasant Rum-like alcohol, liquorices, milk coffee, chocolates. cream, floral, sugar, spices and light biscuits. This is a liquid dessert! Taste: Strong sweet gooey dark malt, with roastyness, strong vanilla, strong Rum-like alcohol and liquorices, coconuts, black coffee, dark chocolates, strong caramel, toffee, floral, strong molasses, spices, herbs, light biscuits, lemon, mid to strong bitter hops and grass. Body: Full body. Oily palate. Mouth Feel: Rich dark maltyness in a very viscous background, as oily as a RIS can be. Not as roasty as Bomb!, but the booze is more Rum-like and prominent than the latter. Lively vanilla and coconuts strike first, followed by strong black coffee, dark chocolates and strong caramel. Flowery with syrupy molasses sweetness. Quite spicy herbal, light biscuity with lemon to round. Heavy but nice! Booze: Like Bomb!, the Rummy 13% abv here does not come across as strong as a normal 10% abv RIS, but smell and taste-wise it's a lot more obvious. Unlike the latter, it didn't get warm or wacky throughout. Two thumbs up! Hoppiness: Floral and spices in nose. Herbs, floral, lemon and grass in taste; Bitterness - hops and liquorices - is quite strong for an abrupt, medium level sweet-bitter full dark malty finish. After Taste: Slightly dry. Rummy caramel and quite bitter to mouth. Comments: I can't help but to compare this one with the classic Bomb! and the difference is obvious: The latter's coffee and chili were replaced by toasted coconut and while its vanilla and Rum booze is elevated in the aroma and the coconuts has a decent taste, it gets a lot more sluggish and sweeter while the booze being kept tight and tasty. If you want a big RIS with a refreshing twist, than this is for you. I quite like this one, but Bomb! is still my favorite.
4.0 Can shared at a tasting at Max's place. Black. Woodsy chocolate and some nuts aroma, sweet, chocolate, demerara sugar, agave taste. Full body, long, slightly dry finihs.
3.9 At Max Place, pours black with a brown head, aroma of chocolate, caramel, black olives, wood, whiskey, brandy, flavor of chocolate, caramel, black olives, whiskey, wood, medium to full bodied, Great
4.3 Draft @ Beer Temple Amsterdam. Black with one finger mocha tan head. Aroma: roasted malts, espresso, vanilla, coconut, roasted nuts, dark chocolate, caramel, dark fruit, pipe tobacco smoke. Taste: vanilla, coconut, bitter dark chocolate, roasted espresso beans, caramel fudge, muscovado sugar, molasses, salty licorice, toffee, raisins, plums, umami/soy sauce, sweet dried fruits, dark fruit, brownie sizzled with caramel and nuts, nougat, hazelnuts, Nutella. Thick and creamy mouthfeel. Long roasted bittersweet finish. I enjoyed this dark brew a lot. More vanilla then coconut by the way...
3.7 Dark red brown. Aroma is cherry, vanilla, chocolate syrup, powdered sugar, some coconut. Taste is very thick sweet and bitter chocolate, somewhat spicy. Oily. Could be smoother. Well...
