Prairie Prairie Hop

Prairie Prairie Hop

Prairie Hop is our hop driven saison. This beer is packed with Simcoe and Citra hops. Notes of peach, mango, and tangerine can be found in the flavor and aroma of this beer. The beer finishes dry which helps the hops jump out of the glass flavor wise.

3.9 Funk, fresh hay, peach, spices, tropical fruits. Malty backbone. Citrusy and fruity taste with piney hops. Pleasantly bitter at the end. Refreshing and thirst quenching.

3.4 Bottle. Hazy orange beer with large, frothy, white head. Aroma of spice, hay, tropical fruits (peach, mango). Taste is light sweet and light to medium bitter, spice, hay, peach, mango, pepper. grass, light alcohol in the finish. Medium body, average to lively carbonation. Nice, but below expectations.
3.6 Bottle at hopaholic. Hazy yellow colour, small white head. Typical saison notes nlt very much hoppyness. might be a little tired.
3.9 Sample during the "Beer Inventory Reduction and Get Together" tasting on 07/03/2017. Clear orange-gold color with a medium white head that recedes steadily to an outer ring. Aroma of citrus, hay, yeast and malt. Medium body with flavors of floral yeast, tangerine, piney hops and malt. The finish is fruity and dry with a yeast and hops aftertaste. Pretty good overall.
3.0 Bottled 355ml (Beergium) Hazy orange colour, med-sized white head and lace. Sweetish mango aroma. Medium-bodied. Mango, toffee, citrus, pepper. Herbal and a bit harsh saison.
4.0 It pours golden with a pillow white head. Head retention is excellent. There is plenty of lacing to it. It has strong aromas of peach and mango. The flavors are strong with mango, tangerine, and peach. There are some orange notes as well. There are slight notes of bread. It has a moderate body and a moderately bitter aftertaste. It is rather smooth on the palate. Overall, this is an easy drinking rather tasty beer that highlights the hops.
3.7 Tap @fermentoren. Pours a golden colour beer with a medium head. Stable, hourseblanket with fruity and yeasty notes. Dry finish.
3.4 Bottled: Pours hazy amber with a large, thick head. Light citrus-y aroma with notes of fudge and marshmallows. Dry flavour with noes of grass and hops leading to a warming finish.
3.3 The aroma is full of hops, peaches, mango, tangerine, caramel malt and dried fruits. The color is reminiscent of peach juice. The taste is full of hops, peaches, mango, tangerine, caramel malt, dried fruits and cane sugar. This reminds me more of a double IPA than a Saison but still a good beer!
3.7 Flaska från Beergium. Prairie-provning. Guldig med högt vitt skum. Kryddiga toner med fruktiga inslag, lätt maltsötma och honung, salmiak, lite lätt värmande alkohol. Något fylligare kropp. Mediumbeska med gräsiga inslag och lite mint.
3.8 Bottle. Light hazy orange. Thin white head. Taste is medium high bitter. Dry body. Medium high bitterness. Aroma and flavour is hops, grass, pepper, yeast, citrus, peach, tangerine.
2.4 Bottle from VE. Nose very peppery, lemon, lemon floor cleaner, very Belgian spice character, though not fruity. Pour murky dark golden but never getting all the way to brown, soapy and churning too-large beige head. Taste lightly tart but that accumulates, semi-dry, touch metallic, citrus peel, low bitterness but a little rubbery, wheat, oaty-grainy slime, big and slightly rough alcohol. Full body but not fat, carbonation actually relatively low despite the huge head. Oily, doesn’t lace properly. I’ll say this: it is very rustic, natural, though neither of those necessarily means good. [2017.06.13: 2.4]
3.1 Ab InBev? I caught on that I was a sap for writing free reviews on Amazon long ago. And when IMDB got absorbed... there went my reviews into the corporate pockets. So, I pull out from the sell-out here... it was nice. But how is ratebeer going to attract new users now that this news is public? The next time you go to a pub, are you going to admit to people you’re a RateBeer user? The first thing they’ll say is It’s owned by InBev. So people are going to stop telling others to join. And if RateBeer does attract new users, it’s going to be sort of people who don’t care about the war against big beer...and, in that way, the ratings will get skewed. Eventually it becomes like UnTappd...just a social network with lots of people who are not really into beer and don’t really know anything about it.
4.0 Pure white bubbly head stayed well on a finely effervescent, murky, dark golden body. Bitter aroma of citrus, zest, lemon & Tropical fruit. Medium bodied, sharp, highly carbonated - feels smooth on the back. Bitter sweet citrus, fresh tastes, spices, yeast, bursting with fruit & hops.
3.4 Flaska från khiosk i Köpenhamn . Gul med vitt skum. Humlig doft. Barr och skog i smaken.
3.8 The Sampler, Brooklyn bottle: pours golden orange with a white head. Aroma is slighty funky, fruity hoppage. Pleasant to drink hopped saison. Basically what you would expect but done with a high degree of refinement.
4.2 Terrific, juicy hops hit the nose first. Full, rich, flowery, tangerine, tropical and grassy. Just totally complex. All the richness and yeast elements of a saison provide a unique backing for a well-hopped beer. Dry and satisfying finish.
3.8 Bottle from Old Town. Pours a clear gold with a finger of foam that lingers. Light hay, citrus and some pine. Clean with good Belgian-like carbonation. Dry finish. Very nice.
4.2 DOB: 12/1/2016 2015 BJCP Category: 21B Specialty IPA: Belgian IPA AROMA: Strong American hop aroma of stone, citrus and tropical fruit. A light wheat scent appears in the background. Esters and phenols are very obscured. 10/12 APPEARANCE: Very hazy copper/orange. Moderate off-white foam persists. 3/3 FLAVOR: A veritable fruit basket of flavors. Tropical and stone fruits are most prominent and are lightly sweet and almost juicy. Green pear is present in the background. Bitterness is moderate with a dry/spicy taste. Esters and phenols are present for slight pepper taste and drying sensation, but are obscured by the hops. Aside from a slight crackery taste, the malt base is passive. Alcohol plays no role in the palette. 16/20 MOUTHFEEL: Medium body with medium-low carbonation. Doesn’t feel sticky, but is certainly not crisp. The 8% ABV is well-masked as far as taste and warmth. Beer is genuinely refreshing and quaffable. 4/5 OVERALL IMPRESSION: Though billed as a "Belgian-style ale" (saison?), it’s clearly a Belgian IPA and works well as such. 9/10 TOTAL SCORE: 42/50
4.2 Pours a cloudy bronze/bright orange with white head and carbonation. A citrus, floral, tropical fruit, pine, and yeast aroma. A sweet citrus, tropical fruit, and floral taste with some pine, wheat, yeast and some spices. A dry yeast and citrus aftertaste.
3.9 Bottled. Hazy orange colour with a white head. Aroma and flavour of yeast, citrus, tartness, spice, fruit peach and mango.

2.7 11/20 a bit over carbonated but that settled down a bit. Quite yeasty with not an entirely pleasant taste.
4.1 Wow, lots of hops battling with the saison yeast on the aroma , the hops win on the tongue, with a light pepper finish . Delicious
3.7 bottle. Every beer I’ve had from the brewery is outstanding - just another example of fine craft. this Saison is very, very good
3.8 50cl bottle. Hazy orange pour with a Belgian ale-style tall white head with good retention. Notes of herbal hops, unripe tropical fruit - mango, papaya, passion fruit - dank cellar, peach, a bit of honey and some farmhouse funk. Medium body and carbonation, with a bitter-sweet hoppy finish.
4.2 Now this is a good beer. Nice golden color. Thick foam. Belgian spice and combination of hops flavors that showcase the best of IPA and Belgian pale ales.
2.7 Hazy with a lot of yeasty particulates. Tastes yeasty with no other flavor. don’t see a date on the bottle. . . think I got an old bottle.
