3.60,3 litre Bottle from Top Shelf, Ft. Apache, Las Vegas, Nv. Cloudy Golden with white head. Malts, hops, yeast, herbs, Wheat, sweetness.
3.9Very hazy yellow with a big fluffy head. The aroma is quite spicy, with some rounded farmhouse notes. The flavor showcases the lime notes of the Motueka hops, but has a nice spicy peppery character that pairs well. Finishes dry with bitterness to style. Different, but good.
3.5Bottle, from City Hops. Pours cloudy lemon yellow with very small frothy off-white head that flops immediately, acidic citrusy aroma, medium carbonation, medium bitter earthy taste with citrus peel and basement flavors, smooth body, long eartjy finish. Smooth and tasty.
3.912 ounce can. Hazy pale gold color. Frothy white head. Sweet fruity malt nose. Notes of funky goodness and bread. Sweet fruit upfront. Notes of lemon, pineapple and pear. Crisp and flavorful. Excellent malt/hop balance. Light yeasty notes complete this well made Saison.
3.70.355l bottle. Muddy yellow body with a white head. Aroma and taste of hay, pepper, lemon zest and grapefruit. Not aggressively hopped, but it's still noticable both in the aroma and in the bitterness. Decent saison.
3.6Bottle part of a flight at craft beer cellar Clayton.
Aroma 6 /10: mild funk, hay
Appearance 3 /5: opaque yellow, small head
Palate 4 /5: effervescent, medium body, flavorful
Taste 7 /10: easy to drink, classic farmhouse ale. Wheat and yeast are prominent.
Overall 17 /20: solid farmhouse ale, not too funky, not too light. A reliable staple.
Final: 3. 5
3.0Fles.
3.9Bottle at Budapest. Cloudy yellow-golden with white head. The aroma has notes of citrus (grapefruit, lemon), quite herbal, white wine, spices and some ripe fruits. The flavor is very bitter and mild sour with notes of spices, herbs, black pepper, citrus (kumquat, lemon), citrus peels, white wine, earthy. Very dry, medium-bodied.
3.8Pours to an effervescent but quickly disappearing head, leaving a cloud and carbonated beer behind. Cut grass and limes in the nose with a mostly sweet taste and a dry but not really bitter finish. Very decent for the style. A bonus point for drawing out how to noodle a catfish on the bottle's label. I'm not going to ask why.
3.7Bottle from Beergium, pours hazy yellow color. Flavor of malts, saison yeast, citrus, grapefruit, sweetness, lime. Medium body, a bit dry, bitter and hoppy for a saison. Good and very drinkable saison.
3.4Bottle, Wine Warehouse. It starts gusting out immediately upon popping the top. Pours light gold with a huge pillowy white head. Aroma is hay, light citrus, floral notes, yeast. Flavor is sweet grasses, yeast, dried flowers, hay, earth, barnyard funk.
3.4Sour that comes with the Belgian yeast, tart and lightly fruity with citrus and bread. Full through the finish.
3.5(Bottle) Hazy golden colour with frothy, white head. Fruity, malty nose with notes of citrus, lime, pineapple, passion-fruit, grass and hints of barnyard and lactic acidity. Fruity, spicy taste with lemon peel, lime, white bread, pineapple, passion-fruit, hay and a gentle citric bitterness in a finish with a light barnyard touch. Medium to light body, quite dry. Tasty and refreshing, well made saison with focus more on spicy and fresh hop flavours, than just bitterness. Nice one.
4.3Aroma: Medium sour, coriander, pepper. Light lemon.
Appearance: Hazy, straw body. Large, white head. Small to medium bubbles. Good retention. Lacing.
Flavour: Medium-light bready, coriander, lemon. Light bitterness, spicy. Dry finish with bready, spicy notes.
Mouthfeel: Medium-light body. Medium-high carbonation.
Overall: Great flavours and aromas. An approachable, easy drinking saison.
355 ml bottle, poured.
25B. Saison. Pale, Standard.
4.04pack bought at Liquor Shed. I couldn't find a date.
It pours a cloudy pale yellow, looks like one of them NE style IPAs. Foam and lacing are great. Just a word of warning. If you serve it at room temperature, like I am, get your glass ready
Very cool aromas of cloves and coriander, the 2 smells that always get me stoked from a Saison..Farmhouse Ale. Yeah, it has hoppy aromas as well but it is less obvious and doesn't detract from what truly defines the smells of the style.
The taste is hoppier than the smell, taking a direction towards lime imagine that, but again, the Farmhouse flavours are allowed to shine. And man do they. As I mentioned, the bottle isn't dated so I have no idea how young this is. Perhaps it's not so fresh and a fresher example would bring different results regarding the hoppiness but that's pure speculation on my part.
Fairly light bodied with the carbonation not overdone.
I give this a highly recommended mark.
I'm definitely going to enjoy the other 3 bottles granted, somewhat colder than this one. ;)
3.9Tap, 10cl @ Tacos and Beer, Las Vegas. Pours hazy yellow with a small, staying creamy white film head. Aroma has crisp malts, green apples esters, soft pepper. Medium carbonation, fine dry and quite creamy mouthfeel. Flavour has very crisp malts, a touch of spruce, pepper, wheat. Lingering grassy bitterness. Quite lovely.
Fajne.
3.8Hazy medium gold, fizzy head. Aroma of light roasted malt, earthy, lemon/melon, grape, herb. Crackers and hay base flavors, floral, with fruity citrus, yeasty, bananas, fermented dank sourdough bread, hops in the finish.
3.5Sample at MBCC 2018 green session. Cloudy yellow with white head. Spicy peppery yeast. Standard saison!
3.4Hazy light gold pour, nice white head. Lots of yeast and pepper, notes of banana and lemon. Nice, but nothing crazy.
3.6Draught at MBCC green (fourth) session. A warm golden body with a slight haze, filmy layer, clingy lacing. Fresh floral hops on the nose. Smoothly hop fruity flavours of peaches and citrus joined by grain and a subdued farmyard. Smooth fruity bitterness to the ending. Drinks very well. Appreciated. (Copenhagen 12.05.2018).
3.5Pours clean yellow with a medium head. Aroma: typical saison aroma of citrus coupled with horse blanket and a peppery note. Taste: refreshing, citrussy, proper saison.
3.8Excellent crisp and refreshing saison. Hazy gold, hint of spice in the aroma, nice hoppy finish.
3.8Bottles from Highland Liquor 11-10-14
3.5Hazy golden with a medium white head. Aroma is earth, lime and flowers. Taste is pineapple, lime and hops
3.912floz bottle, no date, $1.75 unit cost, tulip glass. A saison where a small white head rests atop a lightly cloudy golden body. Notes of grain, grass, and sand are this beer's aroma and flavor traits. All around medium in the feel categories. Well composed table beer.
