3.4 Clear amber appearance. Aroma is malt and hops. Flavour is bitter, malt, hops and toffee.
3.5 Bottle from M&S. Amber with a medium head. Aroma of herbal hop. Flavour is fruit hop, dry bitter, spicy palate, bitter fruit finish.
4.0 500ml bottle brewed in England at 4.5%. Dark amber colour. Large-ish but shortlasting head. Herbal, mineral hop aroma with some sweet malt. Low carbonation. Herbal, almost medicinal bitter hops prickle the tongue yet are integrated seamlessly with a sweet biscuit malt, with perhaps even toasty elements. The hops are more prominent, but this isn't what I'd call unbalanced, and is a good example of the Amber Ale style as shown in 5AM Saint, Broken Dial etc., this being more like Broken Dial, and perhaps not quite as tasty, but regardless a fine supermarket tipple if you like a well-hopped amber ale, especially if you want your bitters to be actually bitter!
2.9 Pretty avg ale, nothing special
3.3 500ml bottle. Pours clear copper with a medium-sized beige head. Aroma is toasted malt, toffee, and floral hops. Taste is light sweet, toffee, wood, fruit. Mild bitter finish.
3.2 Bottle. Clear copper-colored, creamy foam. Aroma: malt, sweetness, grain, grassy hop. Taste: malt and hops, geraniums and earthy, a little diacetyl, light sweetness, medium bitterness, nothing outstanding, but drinkable.
1.9 Bottle: Poured a amber with an off white head. Aroma was a little off putting pungent fruit. Taste was apples and metallic, not good at all. Maybe a bad bottle.
3.3 Amber color, almost clear, looks like biiter. Medium fuul mouthfeel, low carbonation, some biscuits, herbal notes, noticable betterness in aftertaste.
4.5 Not really a fan of the brewery logo tbh it looks like a charity logo (my opinion) so was hesitant to buy this for a long time but I'm glad I eventually have. It's a nice sweet, hints of tobacco Amber ale. Flavourfull in every sip. I like
0.5 I bought a bottle of this ale to try as it was described as a "Premium Amber Ale" and had a funky name. There was no aroma on opening the bottle, which isn't necessarily a bad thing, but the first taste of it was surprisingly bad and had strong notes of cloves. The mouthfeel was weak and followed by a weird slimy texture on my tongue and palate. I wouldn't bother trying it again, nor would I recommend it.
3.2 Cask @Market Porter, Londres 30/11/2018 Color amarillo corona de espuma blanca, aromas maltosos, sabor maltosa motas florales cuerpo medio.
4.2 A deep amber ale which has a roasted hazelnut aroma and a very nice, not overpowering malt flavour
3.0 Cask ale at JDW Last Post, smell is redolent of long summer evenings, not really, it actually just smells like beer. A hypnotic blend that hits the taste buds like napalm on a rain forest. Didn't think much of Per Ubu the musical act from the 70s but I quite like this beer. Echo Beach, far away in time.
2.9 Bottle, 500 ml. Typical British bitter with a hint of fruity character cz of Cascade. Hazy dark amber/light copper with decent beige foam. Nose is caramel with a noticable fruity character like peach or orange. Palate is thin a bit, mainly biscuit and caramel with a good bitterness on the end. Fair bitter, but not as good as the Mad Goose.
3.0 Bouteille. Bière moyenne avec un goût amer et fruité présent.
3.7 Spoons guest ale - like a nice version of a crap bitter
2.7 Not bad bitter. Malt and bread. Quite bitter. Ok
3.1 Bottle. Pours a beautiful auburn colour with a lasting fluffy cap and lacing on glass. Aroma is disappointing, rather metallic. Taste is nice enough though, decent malts dominate, then a gentle spice and subtle hoppiness leading to a lingering bitter taste in the finish. It’s ok.
3.5 Bottle from Tesco. Aroma mostly piney with a touch of citrus. Head thin but lacey. Flavours follow the nose, nice malts balanced against that piney note. A bit different and interesting. Nice.
3.1 500ml bottle from Sainsburys, Chertsey. Amber colour with white head. Sweet bready malt, grapefruit, bready, floral, light soapy, biscuit cracker, light green apple. More of a bitter than an amber ale.
2.9 500ml bottle at home. Pours clear dark amber with a decent sized off white cap. Aroma: bready malts, toasted, caramel, light floral hop. Taste: moderate malty, moderate bitter, caramel, light citrus. Medium body, ample carb, light sweet nutty finish
3.2 Malty with sweet caramel flavours, a little fruit, plum and raisin, biscuit. Dark Amber, cream head. Ok, old school bitter.
3.3 A amber/mahogany colour foamy 2 finger white head that dissipates. Very clear. Minimal carbonation. The malt backbone on this is tremendous, wonderful brown wholewheat bread, caramel toasted notes, nice matured sweet finish. Surprisingly impressed with this one! Only let down by low carbonation and lacklustre aroma
3.8 Bottle from LazyPyro as part from European Local Swap. Many thanks! Clear amber colour, white foam. Breasy, toasty, light caramel. Very well balanced, easy drinkable. Great bitter!
2.9 Cask, half pint. Tasted on the 26/01/2018 at "The Star & Garter", England. Amber colour with a medium thick white head. Aroma of caramel, biscuits, floral hops and nuts. Taste is caramel, citrus and malts, leading to a medium bitter and sweet finish. Next one please!
4.0 Decent English ale. Great aroma, lot of citrus fruits, a bit sour in aroma. Body medium to full. Bitternes balanced with malt sweetnes.
3.4 Cask. Pours amber brown with thick white foam top. Aroma bread, biscuit malts, hedge fruits and floral notes. Taste is medium bitterness, with some light sweet inflections. And that works in a bitter. Palate is medium bodied creamy texture, soft carbonation, and a bitter finish. Overall this was better than I expected. It almost made the company tolerable. All beers £2.50 attracts the dross as well as the young dross.
3.5 Tried UBU for the first time. Great colour and enjoyable taste. Will buy again.
4.0 Decent English ale. Great aroma, lot of citrus fruits a bit sour in aroma. Body medium to full. Bitternes balanced with malt sweetnes.
