American Brown Ale A traditional English-style brown ale, but with more body. Its deep brown color comes from a combination of Chocolate and Black malts. Tall, dark and smooth – the perfect cure for the domestic beer blahs.

3.0Bottled. Dark brown mahogany pour. Malts and bit of caramel bread. Unspectacular in general.
3.0RJ Rockers Brown Eyed Squirrel nut brown ale has a thick, beige head, a murky, standard brown appearance, a plethora of tan yeast chunks swirling about, and some lacing left behind. The aroma is of brown bread crust, nut shell, and sweetness, but a big inhalation is required to pick up any scent. Taste is of the same elements, with low-level bitterness and a touch of sourness. Mouthfeel is light to medium, and RJ Rockers Brown Eyed Squirrel finishes fairly crisp and quite easy drinking. RJT
2.4Very light but brown malt smell, same with taste, slight hoppy finish, can taste some alcohol, no finesse here, boo...

Ok beer but very generic...nothing of note...very similar to everything else.. Very mundane
3.2Beer of month club offering. Pours a light brown without much of a head. Muted nose - some malt. Taste is of malt, with some nutty sweetness. A decent brown ale.
3.2From a bottle, A brown body with a tan head that had nice retention. Initial aroma had a strong malt presence. Which seemed to me to be of sweet toasted bread and a blend of nuts. Cereal notes were present too. While the flavor was enjoyable it was mostly a one note malt flavor. A nice mouth feel and a nice smooth finish.

A medium brown body with a brown head, Decent retention and no lace. Kind of watery body. Aroma had good caramel malt notes and a nice nutty quality. Flavor was very mild, but had a nice nutty flavor and the caramel malts were nice. Had a slight roasted note that seemed bitter at times,/ Finish was light and smooth. A little watery.
1.8Over carbonated in the bottle. Nice color and creamy white head. Flavors are very subtle but lacks the spiciness typical in English ales. Kind of woody aroma. Although some spicy notes are subtle.
2.816 oz draft pours brown with a off white head. Aroma of malts, toffee and some pine. Taste is nutty and malty.

12 oz bottle pours brown with a off white head. Aroma of roasted malt. Taste is much of the same.
2.5(draft @ Spartanburg Marriott - Spartanburg, SC) Dark brown pour with a thin head. Light malt and nutty aroma. Flavor is very watery malts with a strangely bitter finish.
2.7On tap at the brewpub.
Clear dark brown body with a decent head.
Modestly appealing aroma features medium and caramel malts but is not matched by the bland, malty flavor.
OK feel.

12 oz undated bottle served in a pint glass (from July 2011 tasting notes).
Pours a dark mahogany brown with a modest of white head that quickly reduces to a ring and a few thin ’islands’. Slightly hazy.
Somewhat weak but pleasant aroma of mixed malts, slightl floral and nutty. The mixed malts comes through in the flavor which seems to have several varieties: perhaps most obviously, chocolate. Nutty, with hints of coffee and hops in the ever-so-slightly dry finish.
M - medium/thin body with medium carbonation. Crisp.
2.1Taken from notes. Sweet, smooth, with undertones of brown sugar. Lacks complexity
2.8Mahogany pour with light tan head. Aroma is sweet caramel.Taste is wood, raisin and sticky sweet caramel. Balances to far to the sweet side.
2.4Not living up to their ’Son of A Peach’ status. This one failed to meet the mark of a good conversation brown.
2.6Poured from a bottle. Light brown color with a reddish hue, no head. Mild roasted malt aroma. A yeasty roasted malt watery flavor with a weak cheese like finish.
2.7Aroma of malt, reddish brown colour, no head. Sweet malt taste with a watery finish.
2.7Bottle at home. Pours cloudy and particulate brown with a huge, frothy light beige head, long retention with good lacing. Aroma is nutty, light chocolate, toasty and bready malt, dates, earthy and spicy hops. Flavor is medium hops and moderate bitterness, sweet chocolate, toasty, nutty, and bready malt with light date notes and a dry finish. Medium-light body and moderate carbonation. This is a bit over-carbonated.
3.1Pours a deep brown with a cream colored head. Aroma is roasted chocolate. Taste is roasted chocolate with a slight tart note that finishes dark and brown.
3.0Bottle while at b-laws house. Aroma of dark roasted malts, caramel. Taste is slightly tart. Pretty good mouthfeel. Medium body. Ok.
3.2Best part of the beer... an impressive head. Light hop aroma, taste is slight hop unbalance and astringent grain very light. Thin on the tongue, not much body. Light sweetness. Craft beer Blah.
3.2Good not great but brown ales are not my favorite anyway. Dark brown in color small to medium off white head. Aroma is lite not much to say here.
2.210/8/13. 12oz bottle from a mix 12pk from Warehouse. Opened this and a Patriot Pale Ale and they were both gushers. Ugh. Original pour was about an inch of hazy amber beer with 5 inches of tan head, even after a careful pour. Eventually it settles and we have a smaller head that fizzes away fast. Lightly tart, dusty apple aroma, like fresh, warm apple cider, with a bit of cardboardy caramel. Mediocre flavor as well, apples and caramel with a dash of cardboard. This really reminds me of inexperienced extract homebrew.
3.0Woody brown with a huge, light tan head.
Nutty, chocolate aroma.
Malty, creamy chocolate, caramel.
Sweet, roasty....
Not bad.
3.01/11/2010. From bottle. Dark amber color with a white head. Caramel aromas with sweet malt. Chocolate, caramel and fruity flavors. Kinda bland.
2.6Draft->shaker. Medium brown with foamy offwhite head. Malt, wet hay, grains, cereal. Messy and too sweet.
3.2Pours almost a ruby red when held to light. Took me 5 minutes just to get it poured, lots of fluffy head. Smells of nut, caramel, and malt, the malt being the strongest. Tastes sweet, with caramel and dark chocolate with a roasty finish on it. Not very dense, pretty smooth actually. Not bad but nothing stands out to make it fantastic either. Not bad overall though for my first RJ Rocker brew.
3.5Pours a medium-dark shade of brown with a nice thick foamy head that sticks around. Aroma is sweet...smells like crystal malt, rather than chocolate or brown. Not that that’s a bad thing. Flavor is sweet. Not much depth. Just a little bite on the tongue of hops. Very smooth and drinkable.
2.1From bottle. Musky grain, damp aroma. Raw, like a homebrew. A little funky with roasted barley. Carbonic gaseousness. Root beer brown clear with huge rocky-foamy tan lacing head. Medium body with vigorous carbonation (over carbed). Medium malt sweetness with caramel and biscuit. Big carbonic tang and fizzy burn. Neutral brown ale flavor with light tang in the finish and nutty smooth after.
2.712 Fl. Oz. Bottle. Pours clear, dark brown; huge head and lots of lacing. Roasted malts, nuts, some caramel and some chocolate. Taste is also sweet, smokey some chocolate there too. Nice roasty bitter finish. OK beer.
3.2Sampled at twin peaks in concord nc. Very creamy head. Pleasant taste, almost a stout but lighter
3.8Pours a deep, translucent copper with a thin, tan head that stays. Good lacing. Roasted, nutty aroma with hints of caramel and chocolate. Rich, full, creamy mouthfeel with subtle effervescence. Pleasant taste -- nutty with chocolate notes. A rather tasty representative of the style.

2.7Bottle pour. Heavy on the head production for me. Airy mouthfeel. Slightly below average brown in my opinion.
