Rainier

Rainier

Rainier beer brings together nature’s bounty from the great Northwest. Pure spring waters combine with golden barley and verdant hops to produce a beer rich in taste and texture. Fermented slowly with a pedigree yeast culture under tightly controlled conditions, Rainier comes forth with a satisfying malty flavor over a slightly fruity background, spiced with Chinook, Mt. Hood, and Willamette hop notes.

2.2 Very forgettable. Epitome of mass produced domestic lager. Light and chuggable (if that's what you're after). No enticing aromas or flavors. Reminds me of tin-flavored rain water.
1.7 Draft pours clear golden yellow with minimal head. The aroma is generic grain, sweet malt, adjunk. Flavor is boring malt, little hop notes. Light feel. Bleh.
1.1 Can at Trineesh’s wedding barbeque. Any association from the name is an embarrassment to the Pacific Northwest: this is a yellow, adjuncty lager with a stewed corn aroma and little or no hop character which I struggled to finish. Dreadful.
1.9 Ice cold can at Brian’s wedding in Alaska. Pours a yellow color with minimal white head. Watery, straw aromas. Straw, corn, water, husk flavors. Definitely on the lower end of macro beers
3.3 Below average taste. I am not a fan of the after taste. I wouldn’t buy this beer again I would happily drink it if someone gave one to me.
1.6 Boring pale lager similar to Pabst or Bud. It’s got a slightly salty flavor and a barely there taste. I like to drink it because it’s cheap
1.1 Got a 24 pack of this since I've been wanting to try it for some time now. This is slightly carbonated water. No taste no nothing.
1.9 romAa of frozen corn and straw. Pale yellow but has a nice head. Funky spiced corn taste, fizzy body like a soft drink. Not complaining but this isn’t differentiated from others like it.
2.2 12oz can pours out a clear crisp straw color topped with a white head. nose is corn some grassy malts and a little skunk. Taste is more of the corn some spice.
2.7 It’s the chicken nugget of swill beers: You don’t really know what’s in it, and it’s nobody’s idea of *good*... but there’s nothing to *dislike* about it either. Very sessionable, very approachable, and tasty. If I can’t go with craft beer, Rainier beer is my first choice for a good can of swill.
4.2 This beer is a tale gate party in a can. This is what a party taste like. This is the cheap beer, beer snobs can love.
2.4 Honestly now, this ain’t no "craft" beer, but it does fit the bill and the flavor buds if ya just wanna a real simple, drinkable brew and enjoy it as it is. A pretty darn good, inexpensive beer.
2.0 Can shared by "hannont". What a funny guy! Colour...pale straw with a thin white head. Nose...used diapers, wet corn and musty lemon. Palate...light, fluffy and redolent with creamed corn and soggy Frosted Flakes. Nuf said.
2.0 GABF 2015. The festival was the first time I saw this beer and did not want to pass up the opportunity to try it. Yellow lager, some white head and well carbonated. good palate. A little malt, but nearly flavorless but not bad at all, and perfectly drinkable.
2.1 Een pils uit de omgeving van Mount Rainier National Park. Een beetje zoals Budweiser, maar dan iets beter.
2.6 Can with lunch at Mod. Watery, corn-sweetness forward. A classic shit-American-lager, basically. My Aussie friend felt right at home.
2.7 Thanks to Stalincat for this long awaited tick! Pours perfectly clear & pale with a pretty small but well retained head,. The aroma is sweet and doughy with a little bit of corn, there’s not a whole lot else going on here though. The flavor is pretty nice, it’s a little bit warm on the alcohol presence and it’s got some doughy sweetness, but it’s decently crisp and there aren’t a lot of objectionable flavors, the fruity hop character is extraordinarily muted but this has a more interesting hop character than a lot of other pale lagers of it’s pedigree. It’s actually extremely easy to drink.
2.6 Slumming it! On tap. A: Dark straw color, thin white head. N: Grist, earth, a hint of minerality, slight hopping lends some leafiness. Some peppercorn and regular corn. T: Sweet and a touch bitter. M: Light body, soda like carbonation, no alcohol. O: It is cold and it is cheap. (2 bucks). Not a bad quaff really. It’s malty but inoffensive when near freezing.
2.7 Milestone beer time! I think I’m gonna start doing cool beers for my every 100, and it starts now. 24 oz man can that I didn’t bother pouring. I wanted to enjoy this the way this can is meant to be enjoyed. Soft hop aroma. To be honest, nothing about this beer offends me. Flavor is very light, but the taste is in no way bad to me. Smooth flavor and a sweet finish. I like to think I’m still enjoying a local beer. It’s definitely a local favorite beer, and it’s hard to go far without someone ordering it. I just don’t think I ever had it before today. First time for everything. Not bad.
2.7 I have tried the legendary Rainier Ale so this beer came to me w/ high expectations to say the least. This is a bright pale golden head w/ a voluminous but relatively short lived head, which is par the course for the style. This one smells pretty nice right off the bat. It’s got a crisp, grassy hop smell with a non-specific grainy character that I consider to be the cheap beer smell. While I’d say this is nice overall, it is slightly marred by a light metallic note. It additionally has a light bit of sweetness which combined w/ relatively mild carbonation does not quite provide the crispness I like to see in a good American lager. Still, this is a pretty reasonable beer to drink under pretty much any circumstances. I’d imagine it would pair well w/ steak or Cheetos or other things that are good to eat. You could drink it on a mountain or in a boat maybe. I dunno. Fucken cheap beer is pretty great though.
1.5 Can thanks to Frank. 16ozer! White can with red letters. Gold top. Nose is strong in corn and moderate with a fruity apple like ester. Taste is gawd awful candied apple flavor. Painfully highly carbonated. This is only tolerable because Frank bonused it to me IP at @@ron’s wedding. Starts to be tolerable in most aspects except carbonation after several sips. I’m not sure if off flavors are better or worse than flavorless.
2.4 Poured a pale yellow with minimal head and lacing. Aroma was of malts and grains - slightly prune-like. Taste was a combination of malts, grain and light prune. Palate was thin. Overall, a fairly typical pale lager.
2.6 Shared at the Maplewood Concert In The Park last night, thanks! Poured from a can into a plastic cup, a crystal-clear light golden colour with sudsy, lasting white foam. Sure, this is a crappy adjunct lager, but it actually wasn’t nearly so bad as I expected. Mostly neutral, clean graininess, light corn. Ever-so-slightly noticeable citrusy and earthy hops, which is more than you usually get with this kinda stuff. Light body, strong carbonation, bone dry finish. Ice cold like this...at an outdoor concert on a hot summer night...you could do a lot worse.
3.1 This beer won’t appeal to most craft brew IPA fanatics who seek a strong bitter flavor and dark froth. However, I still sense that this beer is at least leaning in the direction of "Yakima Valley Hops" relative to other light brews. The flavor is slightly hoppy, and you can taste some northwest style if you look for it. Once in a while I actually crave this.
3.0 Snagged a 24oz can of this "mountain fresh beer" to go with dinner tonight. Drank from the can so it looks like a can. Slight hop presence in the aroma. Flavor is similar with low key sweet Malta and some bread. Surprisingly smooth and not half bad, actually. I wouldn’t mind drinking more of this one so much.
2.0 Draught at Bavarian Bistro & Bar, Leavenworth Pale blond color. It may be crisp, but it has no notable flavor, and one of the lowest bitterness that I can remember. I would rather drink water.
3.1 Served on tap in a pint glass Appearance – The beer is served a light golden color with a small fizzy white head. The head fades very fast leaving only a trace of lace on the sides of the glass Smell – The aroma of the brew is light overall, but consists mainly of corn and a little bit of a caramel smell. Along with these smells comes some lighter notes of a citrus smell as well as some lighter fruity aromas. Taste – The taste begins with a mix of a caramel and fruity sweetness with a hint of a corny taste. As the taste advances the corniness fades all while a little bit of grain and some hop of grassy nature come to the tongue. These flavor tastes take the flavor profile to the end, and leave a somewhat crisp and easy drinking mildly sweet taste to linger on the tongue. Mouthfeel – The body of the beer on the slightly lighter and crisp side with a carbonation level that was average. For the style it was rather decent but a little higher of a carbonation may have been a bit better for the style. Overall – A pretty nice American style adjunct lager with an easy drinkability and a rather nice flavor overall. Nothing fantastic, but nothing really all that bad.
2.3 These ratings areal over the board. Understand that this is not a craft beer, its a mass market lager, it is what it is. Sweet grain dominates the taste, aroma is corn, decent pour with small airy head, very pale golden body with lazy carbonation. Not much of a finish, sort of evaporates. NW cheap lager, nuff said
3.6 SEATTLE HOMiE . Flavored water. Yumm, great in a park at 3am with a cigarillo filled with your favorite filling. Pale malt.
3.0 Yellow beer that is everything I expected. Drink it cause it doesn't fill me up after one. I drink this when I'm in it to drink a lot. Great as a beer back to my favorite whiskey.
