Real Ale Brewhouse Brown Ale

Real Ale Brewhouse Brown Ale

Caramel brown with a hint of chocolate, Brewhouse Brown melds four kinds of malt to create a satisfying, thirst-quenching brew. Best enjoyed at 55 degrees, this ale is slightly rich and roasty, yet leaves a dry finish. It is the perfect companion for a hearty meal.

4.0 Pours a bright mahogany colour with light lacing. A nose of discreet nut and dark chocolate. Notes of roasted hazelnut and hints of dark chocolate on the palette. Enjoyably crisp for a brown ale and not at all sweet. With grateful thanks to a friend who carried this bottle carefully from it’s home in Texas across the pond.
4.7 A souvenir from crazy Texas expedition.Lovely, long lasting creamy head. A bit sweet aromas, but the taste is well balanned, very velvet, smooth. Coffee and toffee taste, but not to sweet. I am sure this is an excellent beer for long winer months...
3.2 Nutty aroma that goes with the smooth nut and small amount of chocolate malt on the palate. Deep brown in appearance and overall very tasty brown ale with a touch of bittering hops. Pleasant on the palate and could be considered sessionable.
3.1 Draft at Flying Saucer San Antonio. Clear amber maroon color, tan head. Aroma of nutty toast. Taste is plain caramel.
4.0 Watery beginning. Bitter ending.......................................................
3.8 Pours a nice chocolatey brown color with off-white head. Cocoa, caramel, and some roasted malt on the nose; follows onto the palate. Finishes with a nice chocolate note.
3.4 Really nice brown with nutty, caramel and chocolate notes. Yet another beer I should be drinking more often.
2.9 Bottle poured a hazy brown hue w/ medium beige head diminishing to a thin cap w/ lacing. Light to moderate cola aroma. Initial flavor is medium sweet w/ a mild bitter finish. Tastes are chocolate, caramel, brown sugar, dark rye bread, and lightly roasted malts. Medium bodied, watery mouthfeel, and a light tannin in the finish.
3.9 Great American Brown ale from Texas. Nice malty aroma, dark brown with tan head. Medium bodied with good bitterness and a nice dry finish leaves you ready to have another. Among the better America brown ales that I’ve had.
3.8 Dark brown with frothy light beige head. Aroma of chocolate and coffee. Nice nutty flavor. Smooth, and easy drinking. Very good.
3.6 Toffee, dark chocolate, espresso. A bit sweet. Toasted malt. A bit bready. 6 pack sampler from Kroger. I didn’t know what to expect, but this is a great, well rounded and balanced ale.
3.7 Brown bodied, light beige head. Coffee and coffee dough like malts. Light bitterness, creamy enough, high bubbly carbonation, which I works well I think. Tasty brew. (On tap at The Liberty Tavern Austin)
3.2 12oz bottle. Pours a medium brown with a small tan head. Aroma of roasted malt and slight chocolate. Taste of the same with some caramel, nutty. Medium bodied brown with an effervescent on the finish. Pretty decent brown ale.
4.0 This is a very decent brown ale. Has the requisite appearance, slightly nutty with a caramelly sweetness.
3.3 Typical brown ale pour, deep brown that you cant see through. Roasted malty aroma. Good balance between the maltiness and the bitterness in the finish.
3.6 Draught. Pours a very dark brown with a small tan head. Nose is slightly sweet with some nice toastiness to it. Taste is quite light and toasty. Interesting beer...
2.7 Tap flight at Flying Saucer San Antonio. Medium brown color with a well laced khaki head. Light roast aroma. Taste is subtly sweet, aromatic, and roasty. Flavors and body too light to be really great.
4.7 Excellent Brown Ale, very much like some of the fine "Scottish Brown Ale" that I’ve drank. RABC does this one right as well! :)
3.6 got this from their awesome mixed six pack. perfect roast level and very easy to drink
3.3 12oz bottle 4/21/10 (Whole Foods Market-Lamar)-Pours a medium brown with a small tan head. Aroma of roasted malt and chocolate. Taste of the same with some caramel. This medium bodied brown is a nice tasting brew.
3.4 Bottle. Pours hazy dark brown with a large tan head. Aroma is lightly roasted malt with some caramel and brown sugar. Flavor is moderately sweet caramel malt, with some roasted note, bit of fruitiness, and mild hopping. Pretty decent brown.
3.3 Brown and opaque. Fast disappearing head. Chocolate aroma with dark fruit. Medium carbonation and body. Light dry finish with chocolat aftertaste.
3.6 Pretty auburn brown color and clear, one finger head was ok and left some lacing. Smell is brown sugar, molasses, nuts, chocolate, caramel. Flavor is sweet but not overpoweringly so, with a nutty component, some chocolate, toffee, molasses, brown sugar, and a well balancing bitterness from the hops. Medium body with smooth, medium levels of carbonation. Sweet, nutty aftertaste. Overall it’s quite enjoyable. I have enjoyed beers from this company so far, and plan to try more of them when I can.
3.0 Bottle. Roasty malt, chocolate, and some very light coffee aroma. Dark brown with a moderate tan head. Roasty earthy malt flavor with some light chocolate sweetness and a bit of lactic sourness. Light to medium body, moderate carbonation.
3.1 Bottle. Mild lactic toffee malt aroma. Dark chestnut with moderate head. Light sweet-tart toffee malt flavor. Mild earthy finish.
2.8 bottle. clear light brown beer with a small head. light aroma of crystal and nuts. flavor is also caramel with a mild nuttiness. light bodied. very simple, effective brown. dry finish. tastes a bit soured and estery-yeasty sometimes.
3.1 281012. Bottle at hotel in arlington tx. Pours clear brown with a small hesd. Aroma brown sugsr, malts. Malty finish. Medium low palate.
3.1 Bottle courtesy of crajun from the Local Beer Swap Threeve. Thanks Kevin. Pours a clear dark brown with a medium sized tanned beige head. Roasty malt, a touch of edgy paper to it, some dark plums and fruit. Medium bodied, plums, dark fruit, rather sweet for a brown and I get nothing nutty and malty. More sweetness moves into roast and a touch of chocolate. Sweetness into bitterness on the finish. Drinkable, but not overly exciting. Lacking crispness and bite.
3.1 I’m more of an amber beer fan, not a brown ale fan, but this one was pretty good coming out of the variaty pack.
3.1 Hints of caramel, milk chocolate, and roasted malts in the aroma. Sleek, appropriately carbonated mouthfeel. The taste is more roasted and less sweet than the nose portends. It definitely improves with temperature.
