3.5 Bottle. Thanks, Nate. Citrusy, floral nose, with some overripe dates. Thin pale straw color. Hefty citrus initial, tropical fruit in mid, decent medium-strength bitter tracks in finish. Thin--medium body. Tasty and quite fruity. Good IPA.
3.5 Rated based on notes taken 14 July 2012 -- I really rated this beer high, I think by the time I drank it I was pretty hammered though, so not sure how accurate it is. Oh well, guess I’ll have to try it again sometime.
3.6 bottle. Golden-orange, cloudy, with lace. Nice stone fruit nose, oranges, biscuits. FLavor of nectarine and orange, sweet biscuity malt. Good. Rye was better.
3.2 12 oz. bottle poured into a pint glass. Clear deep gold body that pours with almost no head. The head is just a bit of lace. After a few minutes, the surface is barren. Smells very hoppy. Not shy on the grapefruit hops. Totally dominates he smell. Behind it is some piney hops and some toasted malt aroma. Taste is hop-forward, which is good. The hop isn’t quite as pronounced as the aroma. Behind the hops is some spicy, almost rye-like malt. Very dry and toasty tasting malts. Not a lot of carbonation, which emphasizes the dry taste from the malts. It leaves an empty bitterness behind. It also makes it feel pretty light in body. Decent beer. Smelled pretty nice, but didn’t deliver in flavor as much.
3.1 This I.P.A. has a medium body with a good head. It has a good malt flavor, with some character, and it is highly hopped. Overall, a good beer on a hot day.
3.5 Keg @ ALC, Austin. Gold pour with a tiny white head. Underarm, underripe salted tropical fruits. A touch of caramel. Taste is pretty bitter, very dry. Hints of honey sweetness. Bread. Grass and lemon peel. Cantaloupe meat. Medium body, active carbonation.
3.9 Drinking this draft, the appearance was excellent, very well carb and a clear golden color. Smell was citrusy but nothing really highlight an essential fruit. I think the ibus overpower any fruit taste other than hops. Overall good IPA.
3.4 Aroma has faint hints of pine, and floral notes. Nice copper body, ok head and a fair amount of thick lace. Flavor (thankfully) was more pronounced with malt at first and the floral taking a brief hold, finishing with a pine/ grapefruit finish, nice bitterness.
3.4 Bottle: Poured an orange color with frothy lacing off white head. Aroma is nice soft hops. Nice juicy and malty balanced.
3.8 Light aroma, smooth taste front to back on the tongue, not strong as an IPA, but refreshing.
2.9 Draft. Pours golden yellow with a thin white head that lingers. Heavy carbonation with hop aroma. Nice ipa but not particularly complex.
3.6 Bottle at the Park at the Domain in Austin. Hazy light orange with a small off white head with some sparse lace. Prominent barnyard with some floral hops. Very light toffee base with a medium bitter pine middle. Medium oily with average carbonation. Decent.
3.2 Sampled from a bottle purchased in San Antonio, Texas. Hazy orange/gold colour with a white head. Very hoppy aromas, and the taste also dominated by very assertive hop flavours. Lots of grapefruit, lemon and pine in the taste. Quite astringent, and pleasingly bitter. The hop flavours shout too much, so the balance is not great, but a nice, refreshing IPA nonetheless.
2.8 Smooth and balanced taste. The hops could be stronger. The aroma has hints of pine and citrus.
4.0 On tap. Hazy orange with white head. Smell is hoppy pine, grapefruit and floral. Taste is light caramel with hoppy pine, grapefruit and floral. Dry with high bitterness and medium carbonation.
2.9 Tap at Easy Tiger. I dont get much on the nose from this one, faint hits of floral hops and citrus. Underwhelmed by the aroma. Taste is much better, nice hoppy floral notes and faint citrus. Well balanced caramel malts. Palate is smooth, average body and carbonation. Not exceptional, but a good beer.
3.7 Decent IPA. Balanced, nice mouthfeel, good hop flavor. Definitely uneventful but if I was presented with this beer again I would have no problem drinking another.
3.1 Clear orange small fluffy lacing foam head. Strong bitter aroma and so also taste. Very bitter, also in aftertaste. (Houston 201408)
3.1 Pour from bottle at the hideout in San Antonio. Golden with a short lived white head. Flat malt edged finish after the hops. Decent IPA.
3.8 Pours deep golden with a nice off white head. Aroma and taste are citrus floral and pine. Finishes with a nice medium bitterness. Just a bit more intense flavor and it would rock
3.5 Pours clear gold with a tall off-white head. Floral, citrus hop aroma. The flavor is lightly bitter with a decent malt support. A bit light bodied.
2.6 Pours a clear orange with a full white head. Slightly floral aroma, maybe a little orange. Smells a little past its prime. Taste is a bit bitter and the flavor is biscuity. The hops have faded a bit on this one. Drink by is in a month and these are usually dated 6 months out so guessing 5 months old.
3.8 Pours a nice clear golden color with white head. Floral, citrus, and pine on the aroma; follows onto the palate. Finishes crisp and clean.
3.8 Golden color (appropriately) a little white head. Hoppy aroma with a little citrus. Nice IPA, with good bitter flavor, and a little grapefruit in the finish.
3.6 12 oz. bottle. BBD 7/22/14. Pours a thick well retained ivory head, with extensive lacing, over a slightly hazy gold (SRM 5) body....nose is sweet with floral honey tones, pine, resin, light citrus tones, minimal esters, light cereal....taste is slightly sweet malts with light toffee/caramel tones, honey notes, pine, resin, citrus peel, ending with a moderate lingering bitterness....mouth feel, medium body, slightly sticky, minimal astringency, light acid finish. This is a quite typical American take on an IPA. The hops are dominant in aroma, flavor and complexity. The bitterness is on the light side compared to "Left Coast" confections, but it is quite refreshing. BJCP 8/3/15/5/7
3.9 Aroma: Biscuits, Mild Citrus, Mild Piney Appearance: Mildly Hazy Golden Straw/Amber Hue, Passes Most Light, White Head Ring, Decent Lacing Taste: Grainy Malts, Grapefruit Rind, Piney Mouthfeel: Decent Carbonation, Medium Bodied, Mildly Drying, Mildly Bitter
3.7 Serving: from tap at Tolbert’s Restaurant. Aroma: none detected. Appearance: small, creamy, off-white, initial head with excellent lacing and mostly lasting longevity. Cloudy, light-amber body. Taste: moderately bitter, piney initial flavor and finish with average duration. Palate: medium body, watery texture and soft carbonation. Overall: excellent flavor. Nice bitterness--moderately bitter, but not obnoxiously so. Great appearance to match.
3.7 Bottle - lots of fresh grapefruit and pine. Clear gold with a rich beige head. Pithy grapefruit, with a nice hoppy bite. Really nice and refreshing and balanced.
3.8 Solid, bracing, flavorful IPA. Nice aroma and flavor, mostly pine. On draft at the Dallas/Addison Marriott Quorum.
3.7 12 ounce bottle, bought some local Tx beers while I was in Dallas, nice amber pour, good hops aroma, slightly grassy bitter hops taste, a bit of malt, would drink again
