Real Ale Rio Blanco Pale Ale

Real Ale Rio Blanco Pale Ale

Deep golden and malty, with a spicy hop flavor and a subtle, well-balanced hop bitterness, Rio Blanco is a uniquely Texan interpretation of an English-style pale ale. The addition of Czech hops gives the ale a refreshing crispness and flavor that will satisfy you under the hottest Texas sun.

3.0 12 ounce bottle. Pours a clear golden orange with a nice white head. Aroma of malt, grain, and grass. Taste is malt, grass, grain, caramel, and pine. Decent.
3.2 Bottle, 12oz. A clear, dark golden beer with a minimal sized off-white head. The aroma has piney, citrusy hops and a good dash of malts and some caramel. Too malty I think, but quite pleasant. Some sweetness in the flavor, just enough bitterness to deal with it, and some citrus and pine cones. Medium body, semi-dry and pleasantly carbonated. Some bitterness in the finish too. Overall, a bit malty for me, but it drinks easily and doesn’t taste bad in any way. 130828
1.2 Horrible brew! Twangy, taste. Weak head. Hoppy notes but bitter. Simplistic. Iron, tin wash down. Absolutely undrinkable! Embarrassing! The Real Ale should be ashamed to put out a brew no better than a Budweiser! Skip it!!!
3.4 12 oz bottle This purchased at the Whiskey and Rye bar at the Omni in Ft Worth. The pale ale poured a hazy amber with a frothy and lacing off-white head. This is good pale ale for everyday enjoyment. The Czech saaz hops provide a special flavor of spiciness. The medium body ale had average carbonation. The finish was smooth with lingering bitterness and a touch of spice.
3.5 A pale, mild beer. The least impressive of the Real beers I’ve sampled. Golden, thick head, with a grassy aroma.
3.0 Pours a hazy copper color with a minimal beige head. Smells bready and malty sweet. Med body, not much flavor up front but finishes slightly bitter.
3.1 Has a nice hoppy flavor. A little more subtle than an IPA. Not too bad. I prefer my beers to be a little less hoppy, but it is a good beer.
3.0 Light golden-orange body, thin white head, spotty lacing. Grassy, grainy, a little floral and citrus. Simple. Medium to light bodied, gentle carbonation, soft finish, minimal bitterness. Ok, but not particularly interesting.
3.4 Had it on tap at Hofbrau in San Antonio, poured a clear amber hue with a light head. Tasty caramel flavor with a hop finish.
2.8 Not a very good pale ale. Aroma is of light grassy saaz but no other notable scents. Taste is not balanced either with a bitterness and no flavors of note.
3.0 Pale gold, small white head. Lager hop nose. Semi sweet. Doughy and bready in the middle, somewhere between Pale Ale and Kolsch. Finish has a Pilsner hop tinge. Not sure how to look at this one, outside the box a little. A decent beer.
2.8 12 oz bottle: Aroma of sour leather. Pours light yellow, nice white head and a slow gradual CO2 release. Taste is bland, salty and slightly sour. Kind of smooth but a sour aftertaste leaves it flat on its face. Not that great.
3.3 a really nice beer, would love to try this on tap because bottles seem so boring
2.7 12oz bottle - poured a clear copper color with a small head. Not a fan of the hops in this one - a little too much like a skunky lager than a pale ale. So-so.
3.3 Lightly orange and just a touch hazy with a pretty good head and some patchy lacing. I detect a pronounced caramel malt component to the smell, along with a touch of herbs, fruits, and hops. Taste follows the smell, caramel malts seem to be the primary taste, accented with floral hops, fruity hops, and baked bread. Medium bodied and moderately carbonated. Finish is relatively crisp, leaving floral and caramel malt aftertastes. Overall it’s not bad but not fantastic either. A solid offering tho.
3.0 bottle. clear pale orange with small white head. crystal malt aroma with pineapple scented hop notes. bready, toasty flavors with light floral hop notes.
2.0 281012. Bottle at hotel in arlington tx. Pours clear copper with a small head. Aroma butter, hay. Medium low palate. Thin.
3.0 Bottle courtesy of crajun from the Local Beer Swap Threeve. Thanks Kevin. Pours a faintly hazed amber ruby orange with a thin white head. Soft oxidized fruit, musky hops, old malt. Medium bodied, soft malt, a bit of oxidized malt, some old dusty hops. Soft malt, caramel, lots of filling carbonation. Long oxidized malt but nothing overly pruny. Just tastes old. Seems like it’s old and may have been decent three or four months ago, but not a lot worth drinking now.
3.1 Spicy, earthy aroma with hops, pepper, and malts. Mildly bitter taste of hops, grass, and pepper, balanced out by nutty malts. Medium-to-light body with lively carbonation. The overall taste and mouthfeel exceed the aroma. Certainly not below my expectations.
2.5 Pours a thin white head. No lacing. Deep copper color. Aroma is mostly sweet malt. You can notice a little bit of hoppy spiciness in the aroma. Taste is also malty with crisp hop finish. ---Rated via iPhone
3.0 pours pale amber with no head or lacing. dank but malty aroma. taste is mildly hoppy with melon, citrus and pines notes. finish is subtle, only slightly bitter with some faint caramel.
3.8 Rio Blanco Pale Ale has a thin, off-white head and a sort of murky, yellow-orange appearance, with many lacing rings, streaming bubbles, and some relatively large chunks floating about. The aroma is very muted, but with deep inhalations, one can detect some sweet malt. The taste is of sweet, sugary, medium-roasted malt, a bit of hop sting, and bread. Mouthfeel is medium, and Real Ale Rio Blanco Pale Ale finishes mellow, easy drinking, and delicious. RJT
2.4 Bottle which spent several months in the fridge. Amber with a medium white head. Aroma is a little skunky, with some hops and pale-lager-ish grain. Taste is very sweet, not bitter at all. Sweet finish. Light-medium body, moderate carbonation. Not good, but it may be because of it’s age.
3.4 APPEARANCE: A clear amber pour with no head and no lacing. AROMA: While the nose was subdued, I detected sweet malt and grain. TASTE: The taste is primarily grainy. MOUTHFEEL: Light-to-medium and crisp. OVERALL: This is a real good pale ale which I enjoy time and time again.
3.2 Bottle poured a clear amber with a small lasting creamy ivory head. Aromas of bread, light carmel and light fruittiness. Palate was light to medium bodied and crisp. Flavors of carmel, bread and a hint of fruittiness with a crisp lingering carmel finish.
3.3 Drank from a 12 oz bottle. Nice clear pale ale with a crisp nitrogen and nice fruity aftertaste.
3.5 Poured from 12 oz bottle. A fairly unassuming pale ale that has some pronounced honey and light citrus flavors. Worth a second drink.
3.2 12 oz bottle pours golden with a white head. Aroma of roasted malt, floral and citrus. Taste of roasted malt and a bit of hops.
3.0 Hippy and crisp. Great beer after a long day dealing with serious heat. Real Ale brewing is legit.
3.1 From bottle. Toasted malt and roasted grains, light sweet nose with medium herbal-spicy hop profile. Medium golden-copper clear with thin off-white lacing head. Medium watery body with medium to light carbonation. Starts medium dry with light biscuit and caramel. Nice hop flavors, herbal and a bit spicy. Mild carbonic acidity with smooth nutty bitter finish and after.
