2.8Ugh...zero for 3 with reaper. I mean there is not much here....better than nothing but I will not purchase again.
2.9Hazy amber color on the pour. Smells like apples, figs, apple sauce. Well done. Sour flavor and a bitter finish. Like the smell of the aromas. Flavor sucks. Good label.
3.2Pours a clear deep amber with a frothy off white head. Aroma of citrus, caramel malts, hops. Similar taste, very sweet/syrupy. Kind of uninteresting actually.
3.1Lasting film and ring of beige head with a copper body. Aromas of resin hops and toasted malts. Flavor is honey and toast with some resin hops. Bitter finish.
3.3Bomber shared at the Butters’ 1500 tasting. Clear ruby pour with decent off white head. Nose is sweet douglas fur floral hoppiness and a bit of alcohol. Flavor is a nice caramel malt sweetness with overly piney hops. Not a very good melding. Enjoyable enough to drink, and great label, with a decent pricepoint. But still just not an outstanding brew.
3.1Red amber with light, creamy tan head / Sweet nose of citrus, malt, and pine / Medium body, watery and somewhat sweet, with syrupy malts dominating hops on the finish / Flavors of cooked grapefruit, burnt sugar, and dry pine / Mediocre.
3.3Pours a darkish amber, with fizy off-white head. Sweet malt, caramel, light toasted bread and fruit, and a bit of hops. Overall a fairly decent amber.
3.422oz. Bottle: Aroma of sugary malts, slight toasting, light hops, slight fruit, light resin, and a touch of caramel. Poured deep amber/deep orange/copper in color with a medium to large-sized, rocky, tan head that diminished but lasted throughout. Cloudy. Very sparkling. Full of tiny, and many medium-sized particles throughout. Good lacing. Flavor is lightly sweet and light to medium bitter. Tastes of malts, light hops, dark bread, slight caramel, slight tea, and a little toasting. Medium body. Lightly dry texture. Average carbonation. Malty, light hops, and resin finish is lightly dry.
3.5Bottle: Nice malt and hop balance, even has a slight smokey note. Sweet red berries. Food Pairing: Great with smoked almonds.
2.9Pours a surprisgly opaque brownish red with some small bubbles. Nose shows some grapefruit, earth, caramel, alcohol, light astringency. Flavor is kinda weird, especially for the style. It starts kinda sweet and then turns to a watery bitterness with no character at all. Meh all the way.
3.222 oz. Clear deep copper with a lasting quarter inch of foam. Nice aroma of chocolate, caramel, and toasted nut. Flavor is the same with a bit too much bitter coffee, citrus and leafy hop on the finish. Light-medium body is dry, lightly carbonated, and a little too watery.
3.8Might just be my favorite amber ale. Not sure on that, but this beer is really tasty. It does not conform to the usual guidelines of an amber ale. Instead it bends and contorts the style and it’s pretty successful IMO. The aroma has various notes of light roasted malts, maple syrup/brown sugar, apricots, with a bit of plum and spices. Seemed very earthy to me. Flavor has a nice citrusy hop character, apple juice, toffee malts and a solid floral finish. The beer seemed to take me places a regular amber just doesn’t normally take you. Drakes Expedition did the same thing. Get this one if you can.
3.5Color is a hazy orange brown with good carbonation and a tight head. Aroma is a mild malt scent with a hint of hops. Taste is malty. Starting with a medium body it goes down with a crisp feel. Finish comes on malty with a touch of sweetness and mild roasted taste. After taste has a little bitterness coming out. Overall its a tasty Amber, good to see the Reaper Ales are still good.
3.0deep copper color, good beige head, some lace. caramel, floral hops in the nose. caramel, bread, with floral and citrus hop notes in the flavor. medium bodied, mildly floral bitter finish. sampled at a LoSBD tasting.
3.1Pours a red amber color, with a full foamy head. Good mild red taste with hints of spice and citrus. A mild aftertaste but overall leaves a good taste throughout the mouth. Overall a good red that I would buy again.
3.0Pours reddish with a full, sticky off white head. Spicey, lemon aroma. Flavor has some spiciness, cereal grain, and citrus. Mostly lemon, but fake lemon, like a medicine flavoring. A light cherry flavor and malty dryness in the finish. Nice mouthfeel. Cool label, ok beer.
3.3Opaque brown with good speckled head. Aroma is of honeysuckle and lemon pith. Light on the palate with slight metallic edge and sweet residual biscuity flavor. Slight englishy character persists in aftertaste. $3/22oz
3.322oz bottle. Pours a clear copper color, topped with a small tan head. Hefty aroma of citric and earthy hops, with some toffee providing balance. Flavor of toffee and grapefruit, with notes of herbs, earth and butter. Mild hops linger on the palate. Not bad.
3.0Bottle. Pours an amber body with an off white head. Lightly floral with some spices, and a mild malt bill in the aroma. A plain malty dry beer with some mild earthy bitterness.
3.3Bottle Pours a murky brown with an off white head which makes light llacing and deminishes quickly. Aroma has a nice mix of caramel and spice. A little hig on the carbination but not bad. Has a good mouthfeel and a good crispness to it. Taste is smooth but a touch light. Lacks the robustness the aroma made me thick it would have. Is a touch on the light bodiness. Has a decent finish. Agood beer but a touch light.
3.4Copper brown with a fizzy white head. Musty caramel aroma. Sweet caramel and citrus taste.
3.5Bomber. This just came back to my area - let us hope the Reapers are still as good as they were before! We shall see... Pretty pour, clear reddish amber with a nice off white head. Deep, rich nose, floral and citrus over thick sweet caramel. Nice caramel and citrus flavors, a bit earthy, but somehow does not entirely back up the promises the nose makes. Reminds me of a GF Hop Head Red, but balanced more toward the sweet malt side. Well defined orange and caramel finish. Good stuff.
2.9Bottle back from VA during T-day break. Pours a clear copper color with a playful offwhite head. Aroma is floral, caramel, and toasted grain. Finish is a surprising bitter hop one. Before that though you get some fruit and wheat like grain flavors.
3.5Bottle says brewed & bottled by Reaper Ales in El Monte, CA. New bottling. Pours hazy brown red with a thin offwhite head, good lace. Smells slightly red fruity, malty sweet with a light earthy hop aroma. Tastes the same. Sweet and fruity malts with a bit of earthy and citrusy hop flavor as well. Medium body, good carbonation.
3.1either they are starting to make this again (bottles are showing up everywhere) or bockyhorsey is trying to kill me... very rich dark amber color with a soft light tan head and lacing that pretty much paints the glass. malty aroma with some sweet fruit, raisins, citrus, grass, light spiciness and some pine. unfortunately, the flavor is a watered down version of the aroma with a dry lightly bitter finish. medium body with nice carbonation and a soft texture.
3.9This bottle is at least a year and a half old. Pure ruby red body with a nice white head. A slight citrus aroma with a bit of malt backing. Taste is very smooth, somewhat sweet with nice accents of roasted caramel, and light fruits. Ending is very smooth, effervescent actually. Very enjoyable.
2.1bottle - aroma was a combination of an oxidized, weak barleywine and body odor. not pleasant. very thin body with a slight malt flavor. bubbly mouthfeel. finishes with some toastiness and a mild hop bite. nothing horribly wrong with the beer, just very boring and mundane.

3.4Hopped up amber with a distincyly dry bitter finish that lingers well after the drink is gone. The initial flavors were floral hopping, caramel roasted just right, and honey(?) Mainly I liked the bitter, bitter lingering finish best of all.
3.4Good looking pour, a deep ruby body with a sustained head of good size. The aroma contained orchard fruit, caramel, and a floral hopping that increased as it warmed. Oddly, there was a small touch of chocolate added to the flavor. It finished on a sturdy, bitter floral note that lingered for a long time.
