3.3 Full-bodied brown ale with a complex flavor profile with subtle notes of caramel and chocolate
2.3 Poured from a bottle into a tulip beer glass. Brown/amber in color, almost transparent, light head, big bubbles. Not quite as brown as I thought a brown ale should be. Smells like a barn filled with hay. Taste: Toasted malt, a little nutty. Ends a little bitter. Light and carbonated. A bit more body and less carbonation would be better. If you are not expecting a brown ale then this beer is not too bad, just do not smell it and watch out for the carbonation.
3.0 Bottle. Dark amber with a small white head. Nose shows some caramel, toffee, nuts, butterscotch. Strange flavor, lightly tart and metallic, some dark fruits, roasted malt, light cocoa. Tastes a little infected/sour.
1.3 Bottle: Too much blah blah blah blah we´re from around here etc etc etc Stop talking and get brewing.
3.7 translucent copper with a dense beige head. smooth full body with medium carbonation. aroma: brown and crystal malts, a bit of chocolate, and some herbal hops. taste: brown malt and crystal malts, with a touch of herbal bitterness, and subtle fruit tones.
2.3 Bottle from Cavie. Labeled as Red Brick Brown. Murky brown pour with an impossibly big tan head. It just wouldn’t stop. Aroma is toasted grain, caramel, and a little chocolate. Taste is veggies, caramel, grains, and light astringency.
2.9 Bottle from buckhead diner. Pours brown with a really really thin head. Slight hint of nut and toffee on the nose. Nothing really out of the ordinary here.
3.0 Pretty good. The nose is toasty with some light hoppiness. The beer is brown with a quickly fading cream head. The taste is like munching cereal with some light hops tossed in. The beer is medium bodied and airly smooth.
3.1 Pours clear red orange. Not too brown in color. Light caramel on nose. Palate is a little thin but smooth with a good clean finish.
3.3 Bottle shared by bhensonb. Pours cloudy brown with no head and a brown sugar aroma. There is a funky slightly tart dark malt flavor with a dry bitter finish.
3.3 Bottle as Red Brick Brown from Liz. Pours hazy amber with no head. Aroma is sort of baked apple. Med- body. Slightly tart. A little apple fruity. Malt is background.
3.2 Draft. Pours amber brown with an off white head. Sweet caramel malty aroma, with some light fruity notes and light toasted malts. The flavor has caramel and light dark fruits, with toffee, toast, some nutty sweetness, and a light floral bitterness. Not bad.
3.0 Brown with red tinge and small head. Aroma mostly malty and a little nutty. Medium body. Flavor is mostly malt, slightly sweet with some roastiness and off-dry finish. Reasonable, not memorable.
3.0 Deep amber pour with frothy tan head and lace. Light caramel malt and a hinto chocolate. Light chocolate, caramel, earthy hops with a sweet finish. Thin and watery but still pretty good.
2.5 Bottle. Pours a clear brown, thin tan head. Aroma of nuts, earthy, caramel. Bland mildly sweet flavor. Light body, thin texture, fizzy carbonation, mild bitter nut finish. Overall just ok.
2.8 12 ounce bottle tha poured a opaque brown color. A hint of caramel aroma with a nuttiness twinge. Flavors of nuts, and a hint of malt, kind of meh on the flavor and on the palate.
2.9 12oz bottle thanks to drowland, pours a murky brown, kind of like very dirty water, doesn’t look all that great to be honest, aroma is sweet with some notes of caramel with a nutty touch, the flavor is pretty bland and boring over all, but has a hint of caramel in the finish, meh.
2.8 Pours a dirty brown body, creamy head and all. Aromas were nutty and malty with a touch of caramel. Tasted of stale hops with a nice malty undertone. Finished smooth and nutty - very drinkable but too light overall for a brown.
2.9 Clear amber, beige head. Aroma of caramel, dark fruit. Taste of roast malt and bread. Not much else to say.
3.1 Pours a fading beige head with a light brown body. Flavors of toffee and some roasted qualities. Finish has a nice dryness.
3.2 12 oz bottle pours a medium brown color with a nice white head thedisappears quickly. Aromas of caramel, hazelnut and malt. Light bodied, a simple brown
3.0 Nice and malty with a light body. Easy to drink and not too filling. Flavor of caramel and almonds.
2.5 Bottle. Poured a clear dark orange-mahogany color. The head was fizzy and tan. It reduced over a minute or two to a lasting thin film. Light fruity nose, with whiffs of pear and subdued brown sugar. Light to medium bodied and a bit over-carbonated. Toffee, fleshy fruit, and mineral water flavors.
2.1 12oz bottle. Very light brown color, maybe even a little red. Aroma isn’t that pungent but has a slight creaminess to it. Flavor is slightly nutty, but there isn’t much going on. On all facets, this brown ale really didn’t live up to it’s title. The color, flavor, aroma aren’t really that strong.
3.3 Hotel bar tick. Local brown ale seemed the best available option, and it turned out to be considerably better than the Sweetwater I’d recently tried. Toasted malts and a bit of wood and vanilla in the nose, balanced and not overly confectionary. Body was more robust than the slightly underwhelming appearance, with a fullness to it that surprised. Slight hints of dry hops, char, and chickory in the taste, pretty balanced and enjoyable overall.
2.8 This comes from a 12-ounce bottle labeled “Red Brick Brown,” a bit strange. The color is beautiful, a toffee-amber that’s quite lovely. The beer tastes of hops and resin that’s strongly reminiscent of cider – another rater (Rustyham) said “linseed oil” and that’s not wrong either. Malty enough but not sweet in this sample – in fact, lightly bitter clean through. Went alright with food. Thanks to Brian Bearden for the Christmas gift.
3.7 Bottle… Hazy, burnt orange ale with a mid-sized, frothy, off-white head. Fantastic retention. The nutty, malty bouquet supplies biscuit, cream soda and toasty, chocolaty notes. Medium to full-bodied and creamy with stinging carbonation. Although malt-forward, chocolaty and nutty, the flavor is well-balanced. Finishes crisp and lightly bitter.
3.4 10/2/10. 12oz bottle. Mild chocolate and coffee aroma that flows into a light chocolate flavor. Not bad.
3.6 Red Brick Brown. Pours deep clear amber with light tan head. The aroma is modest in strength giving up roasted malts, spicy rye like notes and dusty baker’s chocolate. The taste has a mild sense of creaminess to it bringing in notes of chocolate, dark roasted malts, a growing nutty sweetness and a faint sense of sweet fruity esters. It ends with a mix of chocolate, some dark malts and a mild level of lingering nuttiness. It seems to become a bit too sweet for my taste.
3.0 Pours a nice brown-amber into the glass, with a fluffy eggshell head that leaves thick soapy lace. The nose is of strawberry extract and some plastic notions. Flavors of strawberry citrus, light malt, and seltzer-berry juice effervescence to the finish. The body is seltzer-esque, and the mouthfeel is light, soda-like, and easily drinkable during warm months. A semi-thin palate, reminiscent of sparkling green tea (with citrus) leads this brew toward a middle-tier fruit beer offering.
