3.2 Can from Total Wine, Gainesville. Pours mostly clear golden with a small, soft white head. Aroma of mold, dust, earth, citrus. Flavor is grapefruit peel, grapefruit juice, pine. Not bad - flavor better than the nose.
3.3 Can from Total Wines, Sterling VA. Golden in colour, with a decent, white, head. Some grassy hops, tangerine and pineapple fruits, suggestion of pine, and crisp balancing malts, before a dry, hoppy finish. Good.
3.3 Bottle from Die Bierothek, Frankfurt. Golden body with slight head. Nose of hops, citrus. Taste hoppy with malts and caramel. Citrus in the warming finish.
3.5 Orange color with a bit of haze and off-white head. Aroma has mainly sweet citrus fruits and resiny hops. Taste follows with orange, grapefruit, a bit of caramel malt, really balanced. Finish is more bitter with piney hops and bitter grapefruit pith. Medium body and carbonation, really easy to drink. Overall it’s a really classic IPA, well made and quite tasty.
3.0 12 ounce bottle Never turn down a free rate. This beer certainly falls in that category; if I would have paid the going rate of $6 a pint I would probably have given it a lesser score. It’s not the worst IPA in the south but it just feels kind of "meh" with the way that standards have changed in the last ten years. Aroma / Appearance - A ruby core remains mostly transparent below a short lived head. Modest bitterness consists of citrus and core hops. A malty kernel binds it all together. Flavor / Palate - A hop driven experience stays in the ballpark for a middle of the road IPA. Nothing about it stands out greatly. If faced with the choice of this or a handle like Budweiser I’d probably choose it but with so many other options available even at ho hum bars I think I will consign this to the "try once and move on" pile.
3.4 Colore biondo arancio, sottile schiuma molto pannosa. Aroma floreale e leggermente fruttato. Al palato fruttata, base maltata con poca amarezza. Agrumata e una parte speziata. Discreta ma non così nello. Stile. Carbonazione media.
3.4 Pours a nice deep amber color. Aromas of hops/hops/citrus. Strong hop flavors with malts and a peppery crisp dry finish.
3.4 355ml bottle at Beer Station, Xiamen. Pours hazy golden orange with a thin white head. Aroma of citrus. Bitter finish. 737413
3.2 12 fl.oz bottle. Pours clear amber colour with a huge most good lasting off-white head. Aroma of mild fruits and hops. Taste of intense bitter hops, mild grassy, mild fruits, long intense spicy hoppy finish.
2.9 355ml bottle. Cloudy, orangey golden colour with average, frothy, half-way lasting, minimally lacing, white head. Cautious, citrusy fruity, hoppy aroma, somehow cheesy background. Taste is similarly cheesy, a bit more citrusy; Explicit lemon notes not before the finish.
4.5 Wow , I'm impressed . Figured just another attempt at a hop beer . Hanging on to the coat tails of the true hop beers . This one is awesome . Great flavor and hoppy through out !! Don't pass it up its good stuff
3.0 12oz bottle. Poured an amber color with an off white head. Citrus, some caramel and pine.
3.3 On tap, poured into a 20oz stein. The aroma is a dry, grassy citrus with a light soap and pine undertone. It’s a clear, oily, gold hued beer topped by a white fuzz carbonation that shows great retention and lace. The taste is a medium sweet and medium bitter blend. The oily texture has a fuzzy carbonation and a medium body flavored primarily by juicy citrus and subtle grass notes. The finish is crisp and herbal with an aftertaste of pine, bitter medicine, and herbs.
3.5 21 nov 2015, bottle. Light orange and a tad hazy. Nose is orange rind citrus. Med body and mildly fizzy. Orange rind, slightly bitter, faintly sweet. Nice.
2.8 Can shared a cloudy orange color with a white head and mild lacing. The aroma is huge lemon peel and card board. Big malt backbone. The flavor was disturbingly bad. Bitter lemon peel paste and cardboard. Not sure why this is on the market
2.7 BIF project 2. Appearance: beautiful semi-opaque golden orange with a thin stark white head. Aroma: lemon peel/oil, crystal malt, citrus, muted. Taste: another malt forward SE IPA. This one tried to huge it with an infusion of lemon peel or lemon oils or something. Another mediocre IPA from the trade. Meh.
3.4 12oz can. Lightly cloudy straw hue/large white head & good lacing. Nose was aged citrus; tasted decent w/a solid citrus hop hit & some dried grainy notes. Medium+ body and medium carbonation.
3.1 Golden color with off white head that dissipates pretty quickly. Taste is sweet malts up front with mild citrus and bitterness in the finish. Mouthfeel is light bodied and very drinkable. Medium to heavy carbonation.
3.2 Pours a slightly hazy amber from a can. Resiny, slightly grapefruit, more tropical maybe mango hoppy aroma and flavor. Flavor also adds some soap, not much in the way of malty sweetness, not a bad thing. A lot of IPAs I’ve had recently are cloyingly sweet, so one that focuses more on floral and bitter hops is nice. Good beer.
3.8 Bottle 0.33l. Cloudy amber liquid with average unsteady head. Medium to full body, light carbonation.. Fruity, papaya maybe, smell with a hint of tomato paste (weird but ok). Nice aroma overall. Taste is medium sweet with stronger bitterness, herbs and honey. Nice one.
3.9 Hazy copper color with an off-white head. Pine and resin hop aroma. The hop flavors really open up on the palate with a pleasant fresh hop flavor. Bitterness is balanced by the caramel malt sweetness. Well done. Hard to stand out in a sea of IPAs but this one does it.
2.9 Cloudy deep amber color, average sized off white head. Aroma of rotten fruits and tomatoes. Taste is surprisingly bitter but kinda metalic and empty. No real hops character. Some tropical fruits notes, lots of sweetness and dead yeast at the end. Medium body, flat carbonation. Not that bad, but certainly not good and not worth the money. Clearly it didnt aged well. -- rated with beerbasher/winphone
3.4 Bottle from the beer of the month thing I got as a gift. Pours a hazed amber with a large white head. Earthy hops on the nose, and a bit of paper. Medium bodied, paper and grapefruit. Bitter quinine on the finish.
2.8 Can from my Dads beer of the month club. Pours a clear copper with pillowy white head. Malty, lacking pungent hops. Nothing special or discernible.
3.6 Clear amber color with floaters, minimal white head. Nice hoppy bitter and herbal hop aroma with a hint of biscuit. Bittersweet taste, maybe a bit boozy. Medium body, soft carbonation. Fine one. //stellabeer2go
3.5 Bottle, 355 ml at O’hara, Zagreb. Shared with JFK10000. Pours orange with white head. Citrus fruity aroma. Caramel malts, fruit, bit piney, Hoppy bitter finish.
3.3 Bottle. Bit hazy orange colour with white head. Aroma hops, citrus fruits, mostly lemon, then some tangerine, also some notes of caramel malt. Taste hops, tangerine, bit grassy. Bit harsh bitterness. Bitter aftertaste.
3.3 Juicy aroma of citrus and resin, backed up by malty thing... Not the best one, though. Pours deep golden, clear with small, but stable head & nice lacing. After pouring the whole bottle it became slightly cloudy. Taste is slightly bitter throughout, with a little bit of sweet thing going on as well. Average carbonation, light to medium body. OK beer.
3.4 Can and cold pint glass at the Floridian. Copper pour. Grapefruit aroma. And generally citrus notes throughout. Moderate hoppiness.
3.3 Bottle in the hotel lobby, RBWG ’15, night 2 - 20/02/15 thanks to whomever shared this number. Lightly hazed orange with a modereate off white covering. Nose is citric peel, tangerine, lightly skunked hop tones. Taste comprises mandarin, tangerine, citric pith, straw, light bread, melon. Medium bodied, fine carbonation, semi drying close. Ok.
