Red Brick Porter

Red Brick Porter

Weep for your Northern brethren: Long winters, suspect college football, and perhaps worst of all, no Red Brick beer. Since 1993 we’ve been brewing fine craft beers for the South and only the South. We’re proud to stand alongside grits, hound dogs and Mama as embodiments of the Southern lifestyle. We’re proud to be beer from around here. Until ’10 was known as Red Brick Double Chocolate Oatmeal Porter.

As of late 2014 - Now known as Red Brick Thick Silky Double Chocolate Oatmeal Porter

3.6 Bottle shared at GBBF 2015, day 1 - London. Cheers! Pours mostly clear brown with a frothy, off-white head. The nose holds toffee, toasty bread. Medium to big sweet flavor with some ripe dark fruits, more bread, dates. Medium to full bodied with fine to average carbonation. Sugary finish, with further bready malts, ripe fruits, toffee. Good stuff on the whole.
3.6 Cask as thick silky at GBBF 2015. It pours deep brown with a small beige head. The nose is toasty, bitter-sweet, chocolate cake, decadent and rocky road. The taste is rich, roasty, wood, earthy roast, coffee, chocolate brownie, fruit cake and light toast with a smooth finish. Medium body and fine carbonation. Smooth and well-rounded. Good work.

3.3 11th August 2015 GBBF Day 1. Bottleshare. Thanks to whoever opened this! Almost clear dark brown beer, thin tan head. Palate is light and crisp. Good fine carbonation. Tangy chocolate malts, some creamy sweetness. Mild dark chocolate and bourbon biscuit. Minerally crisp finish. Not bad.
4.0 Bottle at GBBF 2015. Thanks to Matt behind the bar. Dark brown beer lasting beige head. Big chocolate aroma. Wow. Big chocolate some dark cherry. Beer of the day easily the dark chocolate is superb. Lovely.
3.9 Bottle at gbbf. Browny reddy coloured pour with a halo of off white head. Aroma I’d toffee, pine, chewy caramel. Flavour is smooth oat, milk choc, faint orange. Coconut. Palate is velvety, smooth, medium full bodied, smooth.. Solid porter, very flavoursome.
3.4 Bomber, shared by KansaiBeerLvrs. Thanks! Nice chocolatey nose. Smooth dark roast maltiness, slight metallic note in mid palate. Thin-medium body. A double in aroma, for sure. The nose promises more than the flavors and body deliver. Still, nice enough.
3.4 Tap at Craft Beer Live 2015. Fruity nose, caramel, smoke, chocolate. Silky body. Flavors of wood, coffee, some chocolate but not enough to call it double. Nice.
3.5 Red Brick Thick & Silky Double Chocolate Oatmeal Stout 7.7% A reddish brown pour with a beige head. It has a savoury chocolate nose with a touch of roastiness. Med-light bodied with a semi-slick mouthfeel. The taste is roasty chocolate, well balanced and nice but the body is on the thin side.
3.0 bomber from trade with springslicker - had this as a long time want and description of this sounded great! execution, not so much - honestly more of a thin porter than ANy of the double chocolate oatmeal description. dangit!
2.9 Dark brown with a medium tan head. Sweet coco aroma and medium bodied slightly smooth malty flavor. Hints of coffee and nut
4.0 Bomber from Total Wine in Jensen Beach as Thick & Silky Chocolate Porter, for my 75th porter rating! Pours very dark brown with a tan head leaving some lace. Aroma has strong liquid chocolate and caramel and some roast. Later light licorice and some soy show through, but the choco/caramel are dominant. Taste is chocolate roasty with a solid caramelly malty base. Sweetly roasty, and smooth as advertized. Medium to full bodied with a touch of alcohol. Finishes long and sweet with some roast. Chocolate leads and is main. Nice stuff from this brewer! 14.9
3.5 Bottle. Pours a dark cola brown with with a ring of light beige head. Aroma and taste of roasted malts, chocolate, and oatmeal.
3.1 Brown colored pour. Big off white head. Plenty of lacing. Cream and coffee aroma. Watered down malt and chocolate taste. Slight oatmeal creaminess. Some mineral note.
4.1 Bottle @ home. Birra marrone, velata, schiuma beige fine abbastanza persistente. Aroma fruttato, frutta secca, nocciola. Cioccolato, tostatura, caffè solubile e leggermente erbaceo, come di noce fresca. Aroma secco, leggermente abboccato per via dei richiami al cioccolato, finale amaro, e acidulo da tostatura. Mediamente corposa, poco calda, rotonda ancorchè amara. poco carbonata. Equilibrata.
3.8 Red Brick Porter (US) - Porter . 7.7% 3.8/5 35 cl bottle. Dark color, almost blak, burgundy in see-thru, clear. Thick rocky brownish head, decent lacing, toasted nose. Aroma is toasted malts, coffee and chocolate with burnt wood. Taste is moderately bitter, medium long smoky finish. Low carbonation, medium to full bodied, creamy texture, well hidden alcohol. Solid and tasty porter.
3.4 Pours the color of a Coke, but not as clear. Some chocolate in the aroma. A little thinner in the flavor than I expected from the name, but not a bad porter. A touch sweeter than I like without more bitter and roaster flavors to balance, though. Earlier Rating: 7/15/2012 Total Score: 3.4 Fairly clear cola brown head laces nicely. There’s a lot of chocolate here. Lots of nice roasty flavors but just a hair too sweet. Earlier Rating: 11/6/2005 Total Score: 3.9 Now this one should change anyone’s mind about Atlanta Brewing and make them willing to give the brewery another chance. Dark brown body with a khaki head. Rich mocha aroma. Full maltiness in the flavor and this is very chocolatey. I really like this beer, although it falls into that gray area between robust porter and sweet stout. Still extremely yummy.
3.3 Bottle. This is a nice viscous porter with some good roasted notes and smooth mouth feel. Earlier Rating: 2/1/2013 Total Score: 2.9 Bottle. This is a porter that is too thin and too high in alcohol. When I think southern beer I do not think of porter.
3.2 I picked this one up on my way home from Missouri. It smells of light chocolate, coffee, and heavy roasts. Very little head and zero light shown through. Lightly sweet, and overall a beer that I would drink again if I come across it.
3.6 Bottle in hotel room orlando... Deep brown... Bubbly tan head... Dry almost burnt chocolate roast nose... Dark malts... Sweet coffee... Dark roast.. Little toffee
4.1 Bottle at Pazzeria. Pours dark brown with a huge beige, lacing head. Intense chocolate nose. Chocolate, espresso, vanilla flavours, ending on a dryish milky caramel note. Thick texture. Original masterpiece.
