Redchurch Hoxton Stout

Redchurch Hoxton Stout

Moved from 6% ABV to 5% ABV.

Rich and chocolatey

A proper imperial stout brewed with chocolate & caramel malts, and dark roasted barley. The flavour is immediately rich and chocolatey, giving way to espresso notes. It finishes with a great waft of citrus from a generous blend of our favourite hops.

3.5 Bottle. Dark stout with lasting dark beige head. Aromas of roasted malt, coffee, chocolate and a citrus hint. Light stout taste, with roasted malts, coffee, chocolate and hint of liquorice. Slightly oily & silky finish with chocolate, liquorice and citrus hint.
3.6 Bottle from Rehills of Jesmond. Pours black with a beige head. Coffee and a little red berry in the aroma. The taste has some hoppy notes up front before chocolate, spice and burnt notes. Nice stout.
3.3 nice!!!
3.0 Nice enough Stout although nothing to exactly write home about. Burnt cherry, dark malts (toasted), somewhat chocolatey but VERY bitter on the back end which gives this a dryness and a bit of a plain mouth feel. A little bland overall and not really bringing out those rich aromas you might get ideally like lactose, chocolate, toffee, cream etc..
3.5 Keg at Craft Beer Co St Mary Axe. Chocolate aroma with some floral elements. Medium bodied but still creamy. Soft carbonation. Abrupt finish. Nice and polite stout. .
3.3 On tap at Craft Beer Co St Mary Axe, pours black with a small tan head. Aroma brings out roasted malt, with some cocoa, and light oats. Flavour is along the same lines, with toasted malt, some roast and light cocoa. Medium-bodied, with a bitter finish. It’s fun, but not overly deep.
3.3 Draft in Barcelona. Completely black, small beige head. The aroma has chocolate, some mint. The taste is very yummy for my tummy.
3.4 A colablack beer, a head is big and light brown. Aroma has roastiness and coffee, fresh and grapefruity hoppyness. Taste has roastiness, grapefruits, simple. Medium bodied, slightly sparkling carbonation. Nice hoppyness.
3.4 Tap @the canalhouse. Pours dark chocolate with creamy tan top. Aroma has chocolate dark malts and cold coffee. Taste s medium sweet with bitter chocolate notes, but not as rich as I hoped. Palate no more than medium texture oily, carbonation soft with a bitter finish that is more ashy than languorous. It won't feature in my top 10.
3.4 Svart med fingerhøyt lys brunt skum. Lukter engelsk lakris og noe kaffe. Middels fylde. Søtlig smak, lakris noe mer salt og kaffe. Middels lang.
3.7 0,33l bottle from the Alko webshop, shared with dad @ Tahvonsaari. Pours very dark brown with a high brown head. Aroma is roasted malts with some lemon and other fruits. Flavor is roasted malts, liquorice, ashtray, hops. Good.
Bouteille 33cl, V&B Grenoble.

Calkiem niezle nagazowane. W smaku dosc chmielowe ,palone nuty czekoladowe i kawy dodaja goryczki.,karmel i ciemne owoce ze sliwka i czarna porzeczka. Niezle piwo z dobrze uwydatniona czekolada.
3.8 6%ABV. Stout. Poured out black. 40SRM. Nose is sweet, malty and beery. Hints of coffee and liniment or Chinese medicine. Mouthfeel is cold coffee. Palate has roasty flavors of burnt multigrain toast, black bread. Other flavors are coffee, ripe dark fruit with plums and honey prunes being most obvious. Hops are noble and add length to the woody, burnt log bitter flavor. Finishes medium with a burnt twig bitter. Overall a pretty nicely rounded out stout. Not too watery, pronounced carbonation with a solid palate of roasty, bready flavors without being sweet and with a hint of fruitiness finishing well.
4.0 330ml bottle. A lovely dark, creamy coffee centred beer that effervescences in the mouth. Subtle tones of clove. A well rounded drink that slips down very easy!
3.3 Bottle sample at a tasting at Alexey & Raphaela’s place. Thanks Max. Black with a tan head. Roast, coffee, licorice, some cocoa, some dark fruits, bittersweet, bitter finish, medium-bodied.
3.1 Tap at Black Door, Helsinki. Opaque black, creamy beige head. Minty, toasted aroma. Medium-bodied. Minty hoppyness, licorice, toasted malts, cold coffee. Short finish. Empty. Feels overrated.
3.9 Bottle, many thanks minutemat! Black color with big dark beige head. Aroma is coffee, chocolate, and a surprising amount of grassy hops with some citrus. Taste is light, a bit tart, with liquorice, grassy and piney hop oils, then more dark malts with coffee, some ash. Dry finish with liquorice, citrus-earthy hops and a hint of chalk. Soft silky mouthfeel. Very flavourful for this strength, and yet quite elegant in its lightness. Very good!
3.6 Pours black, opaque. Brown head. Aroma has cloves. Citrus flavors on the finish. Reminds me a of a cloved orange. Full body, maybe a little chalky. Quite decent.
3.9 Black with minimal head. Aroma of sour cherry. Dark roasted flavor interlaced with bitter lemon and some sharp spiciness. This is very distinctive. Medium bodied.
